  1. Well, we're here too... A pandemic, is just another version of "the war of the world's". Life will find a way. Once started... Who knew when that happened...
  2. Doesn't that just suggest, it's based on what we think will be valuable tomorrow? We can't live our lives, based on a bet; unless we have more than we need...
  3. I'm not suggesting religion's have the monopoly on moral teaching's, in fact to suggest "the scientific method is based on truth and reality" is exactly what he's arguing against. It shouldn't matter how one learns "a good moral compass"; science has a lot of answer's, but it's not the only conclusion or version of reality. But he's doing exactly the same with religion. Understaning is difficult to achieve, that's the curse of knowledge. That's my point. This is my thread, that argues their position; maybe worth another read.
  4. Fun fact, degrees of understanding is by a factor of three, or four; depending on how smart you are...
  5. Yet they both dismiss the possibility that a religion has something valuable to add; and they speak about truth as if it's a fact. "Rise of the new athiest" may as well be a new religion. Kraus said that someone understood "The god delusion" in a good way...
  6. Indeed, we just have to accept that our territory isn't threatened; and we only think that because we're taught to hate anything that might threaten tomorrow's comfort, rather than tomorrow's food/needs.
  7. does that make it any less interesting?
  8. The less informed you are, the better the joke...
  9. Is that a joke?
  10. I'm glad you've learned a lesson... 😉
  11. What makes you think that tomorrow will enlighten you?
  12. Knowledge is only understood when we exceed our teacher's; they don't just give you a doctorate....
  13. Did you teach yourself any of this?
  14. The sentence speaks for itself. 🙄
  15. The only thing you haven't been taught, is what you teach yourself. 😉
  16. Yes, human destiny is defined by human history; "if we don't learn from the past, we're doomed to repeat it." Care to elaborate? Surely that's cultural? A wolf only hates a wolf when it's territory is threatened... When I was at school, we had one coloured student in my year; it never occurred to me that he was different...
  17. a dash of spice, is a future investment ... Who knew???
  18. No one is born a racist, but sometimes they're taught to hate... Colour has little to do with it...
  19. It's not a joke, value can change in a matter of moment's, depending on how thirsty you are...
  20. The average price of the coin, is roughly equivalent to it's value... What you don't get, is the value of the other two side's.
  21. Sorry guy's, had a visit from a mate with JD as a chaser; don't remember posting that. Indeed, one side claiming to be freedom fighter's and the other claiming to protect you from terrorists... At some point, a great person suggests forgiveness, when they realise the futility of banging one's head against a wall; it's never the wall that capitulates...
  22. It's how we go up and down
  23. Only in their mind, for instance; the ISS demanded a male and female part's, to integrate properly; neither party was willing to be a female; even though, more money and resources is needed, to prove otherwise; what's so wrong with a female perspective? It's like asking, why is mother wrong?
  24. If you don't understand, what's the point of knowledge?
