  1. No, I'm saying we can't avoid being a victim, severity and/or equality are purely subjective; isn't it possible that a rape victim (even a brutal one) can go on to live a fruitful life, while a victim of name calling decides to end their's?
  2. It is, you're assuming that strengh/power and and a narrowly defined view of intelligence is superior... Indeed, which is superior? A male without a female, in terms of evolution isn't much use... That doesn't follow, female whale's have much bigger brain's than a man; why aren't they ruling the world? "You can prove anything with statistics, except the truth" Have you ever taken a killer whale IQ test? I guarantee you'd fail... 😉 Ada Lovelace would certainly give you a run for your money... Matriarchal society's exist in nature, aren't we natural? "Look on my work's ye mighty and despair"
  3. Not your post's, my inadequacy at communicating; my intent was to suggest a victim of prostitution is no different to a victim of rape, likewise a vistim of poverty. If I don't get my thought's down quickly I lose my train of thought, hence the brevity.
  4. indeed, it's like banging one's head against a brick wall...
  5. No, i just questioned his premise...
  6. I've never been hungry enough to eat from a bin, but I have been thirsty enough to drink from it's equivalent; money had no part to play. A victim of circumstance, is still a victim; whatever the circumstances. Have we?
  7. Then we're all doomed... Except I live in a culture that went from rampant misogyny, to a female leader in a few year's and has gone on to establish a significant percentage of female's in influential role's in that culture (it's not perfect); maybe it's even possible to appreciate that all people have a roll to play, if not completely eradicate such a narrow minded view.
  8. Which cost's more???
  9. What's the difference? Oh wait, money... Indeed, it's no surprise that a high-paid lawyer; cost's more... And the poor end up in prison...
  10. That sounds like a defence argument in a rape trial...
  11. What is easy; a politician that can so easily manipulate you... Just because you fear tomorrow won't happen... 😉
  12. More precise than a Bell curve??? Indeed, but it could be why he's wrong...
  13. How do you define a terrorist? Economic success is like asking; why doesn't a lottery win, lead to a happy me?
  14. When did that happen? I don't have to provide anything, for tomorrow to happen; a viable alternative is, we evaluate success and investigate why it's necessary for tomorrow to happen...
  15. The problem is with wealthy country's and their tendencies to monetise poverty. Islam tried to stop that.
  16. Indeed, that's the perspective...
  17. Indeed it does and we can still learn a lot from the Quran... Have you learned nothing from that great book?
  18. My point was, the difference between a terrorist and a freedom fighter is from the perspective of the observer. If what you say is true (you'll need evidence), what can you do about it? Perhaps, whistle down the track's is the better option, if you can't prove what you think...
  19. Makes one wonder, who's telling the truth???
  20. An unexamined truth is still a truth...
  21. There's a very thin line between a whistle-blower and a traitor; would you prefer to know that you're about to be hit by a train, or just whistle down the track's?
  22. I realise that, like the Dunning-Kruger effect, becomes lesser the further up the educational ladder one climb's but I don't think it get's to anything like zero; especially if the contradictory knowledge/information seems to be trivially dismissable. Like in my example of shariah banking in the original thread (You and @swansont have a good point. Is it possible to reverse the split?) Indeed, that's why I think the term should read 'the curse of understanding'. If I may add to the rant, I think it's the one of the greatest threats to society, for social media, read society undermined... You're showing your bias here, much like Koti, and yes, I understood what he meant that's why I corrected his statement Not all criticism is constructive, for example, there's only limited option's to correct for ineloquence.
  23. Why would we consider what the opposite of random means? When random + time, makes so much sense?
