What are your thoughts on physical torture?
An eye for an eye, is not revenge... It's a teachable moment; it's only justice if it's justifiable... So, sometimes it's good to be a bully... It reminds me of a joke I thought of when I saw a life-ring in the canal: A youth throws in the ring, laughing and saying "now they're fucked, that's hilarious..." Me, pushing the youth into the canal, laughing and saying "now it is... 😉".

Transgender athletes
Of course it's relevant, for instance: Is it fair, that I was born in relative poverty, in a broken home with indifferent parents? Is it fair, that the one thing I am good at and enjoy (javelin), I wasn't good enough to overcome the fact that I don't know the right people, who could invest in the chance that I could make it my career? Is it fair, that I am good enough to make it my career, dispite my disadvantages, but I was born the wrong gender? Is it fair, that those who have all the advantages of life and have the career of their choice, can also decide who can play with them? Winning a siver meddle, won't get your funding cut... It's not cheating to change gender, but it is "deemed" as cheating by those they beat... INow is talking about hidden bias, being phobic, in this context, is just a word used to avoid looking for, or obviscate, the possibility.

Revenge is the antipode of forgiveness, no-one else can grant you peace...

What are your thoughts on physical torture?
Indeed, as Socrates suggests, any harm we do, we do to our soul's... It goes to the heart of justice, if I pluck out an eye for an eye; can you see more?

Transgender athletes
Then it's no longer a game, it's a profession a job, something we do to make a living; is it fair to exclude anyone from making a living??? Fair competition??? I wonder if there's a correlation between wealth and the number of meddles won, the data would seem to support that hypothesis...

I wonder how many, and how loud, the cries of unfair would be made, if money wasn't part of the equation. The Olympics' has lost it's moral imperative, now that no-one can claim to be an amateur... The bottom line is, IT'S CALLED A GAME and everyone should be allowed to play, whatever shape peg they have.

Consciousness
It doesn't disqualify consideration, but it might (probably does) disqualify our understanding of that entities consciousness; I can't even understand a fellow human, who chooses a different side to me, I can sympathise and accept their arguments because we share so many relative experiences of what it means to be man; that doesn't mean I understand what it means to be woman... Probably not now, but how can we tell when that line is crossed?

Do you not see the problem with that logic? Indeed, and my answer pertains to grip in the corners... 😉 F1 struggle's with that question, every day...

If we didn't have star's, how would we know where to go??? A map, is just a guide; why not plant this question in the religious forum?

Consciousness
Any awareness of what is consciously decided has to be considered; be it be a bee or the internet. The problem is, how can we consider either, since we're neither...

What consciousness seeks it's own end? It can be argued, that currently the internet does...

Consciousness
Isn't that the Gaia hypothesis? How do you measure the awareness of a bee? To understand a consciousness, you have to walk a mile in their shoe's; all I know for sure is, I'm conscious and I'm aware of that and my mate agrees... 😉

Automotive Science Question
"A tank has such good traction (grip) that it almost never gets stuck. In a tank grip alone is good enough." Indeed and that's the reason why I included it, it has no differential. The only reason to include a differential, however sophisticated, is to go around corners quicker and easier. "Grip alone is not always the answer." To what, automotive, question?

-
Could the Internet become self aware?
Indeed, it depends on which side of the cutlery one reside's An aquired taste means we have to learn to live with it, not that we like it...

Automotive Science Question
Fair enough, but your diagram confuses my point, look at the contact point of the track rather than the number idler wheel's contained in it's presumed circumference, you asked for a scientific answer to your question, why is grip not the answer?
