  1. No it doesn't; it's like asking if the glass is half-full or half empty, it's always full... Then, did 'you' move the box?
  2. This is much more balanced debate, and well worth the time.
  3. In a global economy, poverty is caused by people who fear the future. At least to the question, why are so many people in poverty, in a rich country? Wealth is caused by people that don't fear the future...
  4. A piston requires a push...
  5. No, I'll explain tomorrow, when I'm not stoned...
  6. It's not a tangent. You may know perfectly well what your culture teaches you, it doesn't follow that that's also true of a bias, that you don't know you have. Hence a double blind study.
  7. Signal to noise ratio.. Where do you look???
  8. I don't need or want some slack, just honest discorce; read all of my post's in this thread and tell me which one confounds you, or my point. Like I previously mentioned, not all criticism is constructive when you only focus on a limitation that can't be corrected. 😪 I could retort with, Aww cut Mig some slack, he knows not what his bias is. Now, that's constructive; if one can build on that... 😉
  9. I'd like to suggest a fifth option, Alien life is inevitable; but never the twain shall meet...
  10. Depends on the teacher... 😉 If I teach you to fear a cold beyond all other morbidities', you'd be happy to spend your time in a lion's den, if they didn't kill you on day 1 (because they weren't hungry)...
  11. That's why I need a conversation, with clever people, to focus my argument. Then they aren't a "victim" of prostitution, much like consensual sex, isn't rape.
  12. Of course there's a difference, but that's from the perspective of an observer.
  13. No, I'm saying we can't avoid being a victim, severity and/or equality are purely subjective; isn't it possible that a rape victim (even a brutal one) can go on to live a fruitful life, while a victim of name calling decides to end their's?
  14. It is, you're assuming that strengh/power and and a narrowly defined view of intelligence is superior... Indeed, which is superior? A male without a female, in terms of evolution isn't much use... That doesn't follow, female whale's have much bigger brain's than a man; why aren't they ruling the world? "You can prove anything with statistics, except the truth" Have you ever taken a killer whale IQ test? I guarantee you'd fail... 😉 Ada Lovelace would certainly give you a run for your money... Matriarchal society's exist in nature, aren't we natural? "Look on my work's ye mighty and despair"
  15. Not your post's, my inadequacy at communicating; my intent was to suggest a victim of prostitution is no different to a victim of rape, likewise a vistim of poverty. If I don't get my thought's down quickly I lose my train of thought, hence the brevity.
  16. indeed, it's like banging one's head against a brick wall...
  17. No, i just questioned his premise...
  18. I've never been hungry enough to eat from a bin, but I have been thirsty enough to drink from it's equivalent; money had no part to play. A victim of circumstance, is still a victim; whatever the circumstances. Have we?
  19. Then we're all doomed... Except I live in a culture that went from rampant misogyny, to a female leader in a few year's and has gone on to establish a significant percentage of female's in influential role's in that culture (it's not perfect); maybe it's even possible to appreciate that all people have a roll to play, if not completely eradicate such a narrow minded view.
  20. Which cost's more???
  21. What's the difference? Oh wait, money... Indeed, it's no surprise that a high-paid lawyer; cost's more... And the poor end up in prison...
  22. That sounds like a defence argument in a rape trial...
  23. What is easy; a politician that can so easily manipulate you... Just because you fear tomorrow won't happen... 😉
