  1. But it is more likely...
  2. I think it's more plausible that the others, just evolved with that society/beginning adapting as they go, until the meaning is lost and the others just pick at the carcass... But don't listen to me, I'm a madman... You and your so called facts, it's not science that excels in critical thinking, it's people...
  3. Or it could be spent on prevention, like the poor; less poor = less crime and less sick people.
  4. +1 A very neat synopsis.
  5. Because I can't be sure which way my fight or flight switch will go, when faced with such a trauma and a very sick human holding a knife; and I consider myself a decent citizen, imagine how much I'd suffer if I ran away. A sociopath doesn't have that switch. Nor would he think he's evil, just a human/animal (he can't understand the difference) doing something very bad and should be stopped. And he'd be equally happy to kill a pregnant mother or a small children if he was taught how bad they are.
  6. Aren't we all capable of that? It doesn't mean we're all wrong.
  7. If someone says you shouldn't question this, you've got to question it...
  8. It's not about probability, it's about plausibility. Assuming were more intelligent than them because we know more, is very arrogant; what path would you choose to "teach the children"?
  9. With my illness I could be taught to do anything you want, am I evil now?
  10. Pot meet kettle , the difference is iNow has been shown too, many time's.
  11. I'm a sociopath and if I caught your rapist in the act I'd probably kill him just to make him stop, does that make me evil or a hero? He's a very sick person, it would probably be kinder.
  12. thid game
  13. More trees???
  14. Are you a witch? Can I burn you?
  15. And I'm saying your choices are more limited than you think... I don't know, ask them... Only a dog gets to be a dog. 😉
  16. Which is? I've had dog's all my life and believe me they can act out of jealousy, is that act malicious or instinctive?
  17. I think the elders created a diety in order to teach the children. Let's imagine a society that depends on tree's and you've got to teach the children that they have to cut down tree's to live today, but only what they need today, because if they get greedy; there won't be enough left to sustain the forest. You'd start with a boogeyman that lives in the tree's, and eats people who cut down more than they need, and believe me, they know when you do... You get to argue metaphysics later in life... 😉
  18. That assumes intelligence gives us unlimited free will, to be a different human than the one we're trained to be; evil suggests they decided to be that human. Intelligence, and natural philosophy, just gives us a chance to understand the limitations of being a human.
  19. I am the madman that comes too early, and you are the athiest taking the piss; just because I'm a lone voice doesn't make me wrong. You've yet to explain, along with most of my questions, why a human can be evil but a dog can't. The video I posted "a world without prisons", a couple of time's, (which you ignored) was made by a criminologist, not some irrelevant philosophical "nut job"; at least listen to your own side. No one's denying that, but justice demand's that we're all given a chance. @beecee evil is a label (a blinker) an excuse to seek revenge, every human deserves to be given glasses before we label them blind.
  20. Greater intelligence doesn't make you more of a dog... Give them glasses and see what they do with them...
  21. I look foward to the sun light upland's, science is about to provide (any second now 🤞). 🙄
  22. What is so obvious? The only difference between humanity and our best friend is, very very very occasionally (almost to statistical improbability) we are able to see past our training; unfortunately Hitler et al didn't have the vision, that doesn't make them evil it makes them visually impaired. You really need to read "The parable of the madman", but be careful 😉 Hitler just didn't understand and took it the wrong way...
  23. Investigating objectively, and arriving at an objectively orientated solution, isn't always possible when saddled with religious baggage. I can't imagine life without science. Any comment? That's the purpose of this thread @beecee, in which you think human's are capable of evil, but dogs/animals aren't; putting humans above nature sound's awfully religious, unless you've got a scientific explanation?
  24. Then why are you so determined to further the off topic discussion, in the wrong thread. It ended with me asking a pertinent legitimate question about the nature of evil. Sticking your fingers in your ears, and saying "I'm right I'm right I'm right" isn't a legitimate argument.
  25. Your not the size of an elephant, that's reality...
