  1. What if your plan is to walk into a school and kill as many people as possible?
  2. It means we have to believe in something that we can't possibly know. It's also a metaphor, to teach the value of a concept like karma/heaven.
  3. To be kind?
  4. Do you want to be stupid?
  5. What are you afraid of?
  6. We all are, but that's not the question I asked...
  7. Would you like to think you're stupid?
  8. We all, the vast majority, consider ourselves to be kind (morally correct), the rules are set up for those who aren't. So the question becomes: How are we allowed to cheat, while being kind?
  9. I suspect the answer would be same if the ballot was secret; for instance, in coal mine or building site a show of hand's would yeald, from the same bollot, a result that was inversely proportional. Even a front row forward (rugby) thinks they're smater than a footballer... 😁
  10. Nietzche lamented that we killed god, you thought wrong; besides it was you that claimed an "external consciousness", which can only be supernatural, in every sense of the word. You really should try to learn a little bit, of the sources you profess, in order to prevent the inaccuracies of your thought's; illusionism, for instance, what do you think it means? And why is non-scientific automatically supernatural? My dog is neither. And more to the point, what does any of this have to do with consciousness
  11. An interesting side question is; how many people would describe themselves as above average intelligence, and how that relates to statistical accuracy? I know I am... 🤞
  12. What is crosstalk and how does it relate to consciousness? That makes no sense, in the context of this topic. If you listen to the link I provided, it talks about 'blind sight', in which a certain type of blind person can accurately (99%) point to a spot of light and believe they are just guessing; IOW they can see and point to the spot of light without a conscious awareness.
  13. But it does design the initial conditions.
  14. But all freedoms are constrained; we all have a boss...
  15. As far as I can tell, he doesn't know what he's (assuming) talking about, because it's based on unqualified debaters; perhaps he should listen to this. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p00gpxhb
  16. Can anyone suggest an initial design/algorithm of an ethically benign marketplace? I think the closest example is within shariah law, as it relates to phiscal policy; clearly capitalism won't or can't work within a moral structure.
  17. If war is inevitable, then so is peace.
  18. It worked for quite a while in Europe, just bc Putin's a dick doesn't make it inevitable; imagine if China was persuaded to side with the West for economic reason's, rather than embroiled in Trump's sanction war's; I rather doubt that he would have dared even start this (Ukrainian) war.
  19. There's plenty of excuses, but war 'and peace' is a process; if too many people think an excuse is a valid reason, then war is a self fulfilling professy (I'm sure I've spelt that wrong); I'm not talking utopia, I'm talking one, 'economic', step at a time.
  20. I think the important question of this thread is, why is war inevitable? In a world that can potentially feed and house, almost everyone; why should we accept an excuse to fight, where no reason exists?
  21. What is the decision that matters?
  22. that's not what I said, besides that's another question. how far into the future are We talking?
