Made five coffees this morning with milk in...when I'm supposed to be fasting for a blood test. Old habits die hard.!

Arguably the most active ingredient of coffee that can cause issues is caffeine, and while susceptibility varies, it may cause harmful effects in higher doses. People with lower clearence rate of caffeine should reduce intake, for example. Other than that there have been few studies linknig to some adverse health outcomes, but most have been superseded with newer research.

Coffee intake during Interferon/Ribavirin therapy is positively correlated with a better treatment outcome... it's not the caffeine though, because tea has no statistical effect on that particular treatment's outcome. I do drink decaffeinated. 5 normal caffeinated coffees would blow my head off.
