Anyone know where I can't get information on adhesives. I'm particularly after comparisons on Araldite, Loctite, RTV and Dymax. The web just takes me to sales and promotions. I want to know things like cure times, applications, strengths, durability, temperature limits, etc, etc. Thanks

I'm currently doing some research on aerodynamics for a book that I'm writing. I'm absolutely useless with formulas and such and was hoping that someone could help me. Basically I was wondering about wing width of an object compared to length of that object. If its 10ft long, roughly what width of wings would it have, and what is the basic ratio? Since the objects I'm writing about could be anywhere up to 20ft in length. Sorry for being so vague, but since I'm still in research mode, you can understand why I am wary of being more specific

talking from a normal, every day civilian point of view, how much of a difference does aerodynamics make? for instance the difference between crouching on a bike, and sitting up straight. the difference between having a rear wing on your car and not having one. obviously for racing it makes a difference, but does it really make a speed difference to civilians in normaly cars and bikes?

My friend and I are greatly interested in incorporating AeroGel into some projects we have. But we are running into some "brick walls". One of our problems is whether it would be a good pressure protection. Meaning that if it were to be used in deep water applications in say the hull of a vessal, would it work to help support it against the pressures of the deep ocean? Anyone with any knowledge please help.

ever wondered HOW they get the stuff into spray cans? does it seems a waste to have to throw one away when it`s empty? ever wanted to have your OWN product in spray form? Here`s How!.... take an "Empty" used Can. hold your finger down on the nozzel for for a while, make sure there`s no gas anymore coming out. boil some water and put it in a bowl big enough to sink the empty can into. put the can into it, every 30 seconds or so, press down the nozzel to rlealse more gas ( the ideal is a pan of boiling water on the stove) when no more gas will come out, remove the Can from the boiling water. allow it to cool, and put it in the fridge for 20 mins,,, you n…

  6. If you wish to debate me then at least watch this entire video. Please bare with me and open your mind Neo! We are awash within the instantaneous aether which conveys information, twisting fields, frequencies and vibration. Extending out from the torus's field riding the dynamic fields upon aether is all energy. The future will reinvent itself from the past; for perhaps the true purpose of the Giza Pyramids where a multi functioning platform. It may have been a weapon, communication device and power plant. Obviously I'm not a Newton or Einstein fan! Where these two ignorant of magnetism or where they told not to divulge the true nature of the universe into lea…

I moved into my house in the suburbs of Myrtle Beach, SC almost five years ago and really have enjoyed the milder winters, but several times over the past 4 years I have had one particular shrub die off unexpectedly. At first I did not think too much of it, until I caught a neighbor at the edge of my yard with a gallon bottle of Round Up with a sprayer wand. I confronted him and asked what he was doing and he made a lame excuse that he was spraying for weeds in his front yard. He left quickly and went back into his house. He passed away two years ago and I thought it was over. Wrong, although I have helped his widow many times in the past two years, I just had another o…

Now we have a group who would import lions and cheetas into the US to create "ecological diversity." How many of us think THAT is a good idea? The following is a cut and paste, as it was an article off AOL's welcome page: Group Wants to Bring African Animals to North America By JOSEPH B. VERRENGIA, AP DENVER (Aug. 17) - If a group of prominent ecologists have their way, lions and elephants could someday be roaming the Great Plains of North America. Scientists say African cheetahs could thrive on North American plains, where cheetahs roamed thousands of years ago. The idea of transplanting African wildlife to this continent is being greeted with …

Ok, if I boil some rice with water, and take the ricey boiled water, and put it in, oh, say, a petri dish, and I put it (dish w/ rice water) in the refrigerator, will it make a gel??? I have heard it is a great substitute for agar. Also, some rice that i boiled, I left wet, and put it in the refrig to save, the next day, it seemed to be in a gel. Is boiling rice and taking the "juice" a procedure of making gel, will it work, or was my experience just a freak accident, comments will be appreciated?

I am posting on several religious threads and have a question on Radiometric dating. I do not know much about it, but from what I have heard it is based on how many radioactive particles are left in a molecule or something like that. What I am wondering is there anyway that those radioactive particles are leaving those molecules for different reasons then age such as exposure to sunlight or water or tempatures or even pressure being applied to that particular molecule. This may sound stupid and I may be completely wrong about how it works, but I just was wondering. If you choose to post anything I would like you to be a credible source and just not a kid in the tenth…

I am currently conducting a series of experiments on common chemicals that act on the CNS. As part of my study I wish to test the effects of various agents on the growth of tumorous cells in plants. My question is two part. First, are there any recommendations for a plant species to use? The primarily criteria is that it is a chlorophyll producing plant and that it does not naturally produce any xanthines. The second part of the question is how to trigger tumorous growth in the plant? I would prefer to use a chemical agent for the trigger, but I suppose I could try irradiating or other methods, although that method may invalidate some of my findings. If you k…

this is part Humorous, but quite interesting. you`ve seen all the adverts for anti-aging cream full of chems etc... I`ve accidently discovered the opposite (seriously, I have!). we`re having a few friends around tonight and I`m cooking stuffed Squash. I hollowed out the beasty and removed all the seeds, washed my hands and thought nothing off it. about 5 mins later the palms of my hands are bone dry and all wrinkled and shiney! I did a test patch on my face (it cant hurt me as it`s 100% edible and organicly grown), I look like an old man now ) this will be great to use around Hallowe`en time, that and some talc powder as a dusting just another Cr…

I would like to know how much climate influences agricultural output - as we know, places with temperate climate (such as my country - Poland) have a growing season lasting roughly from April to October but places located in the tropics or the equator have a year-round growing season. How much does it influence the productivity of agriculture and, hence, population density?

Hi. Doing some aeroponics for culinary herbs indoors, and found in publications there is mention of need for oxygen to flow around the roots together with the fertilizing nutrients on fine mist. Seems to me that all 'experts' in aeroponics focus in root oxygenation from air flow and simply ignore/forget the nitrogen action. ----> Isn't nitrogen to the roots more important than the oxygen for the plant growth success ? That is what fertilization is all about... I think.

It is found that the gravity force is about 9.8m/s2 It is usually omit the air resistance when we calculate the air resistance. One day, I asked myself how long does it take from jumping from the top of the building to the ground. And I did a bad calculation, only some seconds. I believed that it's wrong and I go to ask for information here

Does any experts here think that it is possible (it should be) to write a set of algorithms to sequence human behaviour? As founder of Behaviourism, J.B Watson, seems to think that human behaviour can be quite mechanical. As the quote goes: "Give me a baby, and I can make him into any man you want." The experiment on ethnicities and race concerning mentality was not carried out, he died : ( I'm sure we all know that the credibility of Psychology and its brothers, can be improved a lot more, as currently, it is entirely based on probability and likelihood (increases as the number of legitimate studies correlates), however, it is not as credible as other science…

I read that our Oort cloud could extend up to halfway to Proxima Centuri. Is it reasonable to assume that this star could also have its own equivalent of an Oort cloud and if so, could the two clouds merge at some point? If true this leads to my main question. Would it be possible to have a comet that had an orbit that included both suns? At least until stellar drift upset things anyway. I am not an astronomer and am not that proficient with orbital mechanics so apologies if these are stupid questions.

This post refers to the (excellent) primer on codes and ciphers, namely The Code Book by Simon Singh. The question itself concerns the one-time pad cipher, the one form of encryption which is claimed to be truly unbreakable, that's to say proof against any known form of cryptoanalysis. . . short of telepathy? One aspect about this cipher is bamboozling me, however. Namely it's this: would it be possible to crack a given one-time pad cipher if one was already in possession of the key? Singh offers this example: Key: P L M O E Z Q K J Z L R T E A V C R C B Y Plaintext: a t t a c k t h e v a l l e y a t d a w n Cybertext: …

There is several types of sciences but what if someone wanted to study all of them? Most schools will make you pick a major and a minor and suggest your minor fit your major or compliments it. What if you just wanted to study different sciences? Like Chemistry, psychology, biology, computer science. Science and math can be applied to everything in the world. Why are there no overall science degrees?
