  1. Started by Elite Engineer,

Just have some general questions regarding the two fields. My 24 year old friend is finally going to school after being out for 6 years. He's not sure what he should do, either go into research (scientist) or engineer. Questions: 1.)- Is the occupation of "scientist" strictly limited to the life sciences (i.e. biology, chemistry)...or does it stretch into physics and computers. B/c whenever I read science article, it involves a biologist or chemist..very rarely a computer scientist or engineer. 2.) - Generally, engineering pays more...correct? 3.) - Does becoming a real scientist require a PhD? 4.) - Science careers are not as easy to obtain as engineerin…

  2. If one looks about the whole world , at this point in time . There is fighting , strife , riots, killings , murder, wars , etc . The images , that we see of all this war and strife , is nearly 100 percent MEN . So if ALL MEN 100% , were miraculously overnight PACIFIED ( like changed , aggression, passion, and all the other ,' violent drivers' internally STOPED DEAD, somehow removed ? ) , --OVERNIGHT? Then with a different approach to men, would women bring this earth and its population to . .. " a BEAUTIFUL , PEACEFUL , PLACE TO LIVE ? " . . Mike

After making a time consuming compression algorithm, as always. I being to wonder if it is worth it to trade off time for money. We all work, I know, and as much as I would like immortality to work, it seems it requires a bit more time. So at a realistic point, if immortality is not yet achieved, is it worth it to trade time for money?

Hello everyone I'm looking for some advice on font usage in my future thesis. I've got a template of my thesis, and I've 'perfectioned' it thusfar so that even when I'd put it in Calibri, Arial or Times New Roman, someone reading it will think "damn, he put some effort in the aesthetics of this piece", if I dare say so myself. However, they stay Calibri, Arial and Times New Roman. Old overused fonts giving the chance to give that argument: "oh ... but he was too lazy to pick out an original font". I'm looking for a font that both expresses professionalism as well as modernism. I've considered Futura, but lots of people find that it doesn't express enough profe…

  9. I'm trying to find a nice girl, or meet nice girls who may potentially become dates/partners. I decided to make a Christian Mingle account because I find that I'm mostly attracted to Christian women for some reason. They seem more sweet, concerned about their presentation, pure, devoted to their partners, etc etc etc... There is something about them that lends itself to good girlfriend/wife material. So there are questions you can answer on your profile about your life, hobbies, work, goals, passions, and, of course your Christian-related views. Here are some of the questions, and my responses to some of them (tell me if they sound "Christiany" enough): Question: …

  10. I like Neil, for 2 reasons: -Excellent at explaining advanced scientific ideas on a basic level, with unmatched charisma. -Smarter than Bill Nye (Astrophysics vs. Mechanical Engineer). At least I like to believe this. When the two are together talking science, Bill just kinda says really generic 101 explanations, almost like he knows the general idea of the concept, but not specific knowledge. Neil on the other hand goes deep and very articulate on his science explanations. No, I have no videos/proof to substantiate my claims. Also, it may be their personal style of presentation as well. ~EE

After about 5 or 6 miles parts of my hands start to go numb, the areas affected depending on how I'm gripping the bars. I have reduced my grip and also move my hands in various positions periodically which helps. Some pictures follow which might inspire suggestions and should give an idea of my current setup. I'm open to any ideas for modification of my technique, bike/handle geometry or other equipment. Would swept back riser bars help? It's an 18" frame and I have a 31" inside leg. The crossbar just touches my crotch when standing astride it. A 16" will be my next acquisition for better clearance there

  12. I speak English pretty darn well, but I can't make heads or tails of this: Its the last sentence I don't understand, what the heck does he mean by double page? Does he mean every second page? When I google double page it seems to mean simply a book spread out, so both the left and the right page together, but if that were the case, why wouldn't he simply say "every fifth word was taken from each page?" I guess it IS a LITTLE bit different in that if you go every fifth word, once you reach the end of the page, if you're counting by double pages, then you carry over, whereas if you are counting by single pages then you don't carry over, but start from the beginnin…

Just as world war 2 sleuths had justified and crucified many a people across the countries in 1942 1945. Wished if hitler and his men had instead of grazing the war battles quick plans to el- elamine had instead turned his convoy to india-pakistan brit provinces through iran borders. Then our indian history books would had a mention that italio-german armies invades delhi punjab in 1942. But india as under sovereign crown was in protection of USA troops which later in 1944 dropped around million tonnes of drop bombs over italia for no particular reasons. Instead such gruesome blood savage rivalry was to have against indians by some other colonizers or war agitators. In …

http://allnewspipeline.com/Strange_Beams_Of_Light.php Ignorant friends on my facebook feed are driving me nuts conspiring about whether this is aliens or the sign of the end times. The pursuit of a true scientific or naturalistic explanation for what these things are never enters the discussion. So can someone please tell me what these things are. or are likely to be so I can throw a monkey wrench in these people's hoax machine? If you've got links to credible sites explaining what they are, even better! Thanks!

I was sleeping awake this morning and i saw a weird dream memory vision of a place named baroda india. This place has a weird history of what not written in books. Like as if it has seen many a days of plunder, wars and bloodshed. Like have u seen "gandhi movie" that the director of the maker of movie perhaps likes to hide away the real picture from the viewers and the coming generations. Also the history books of indian point of view is also not correct. In the star movies that i used to see in yester years the movie cinematography of england ruling power of indian monarchy. So what i saw in my mind memories that once baroda was a center of political war power of india…

I'm about to buy a new computer and have the choice of windows 7 or 10. I'm comfortable with 7 and would be happy to stick with it, but I'll change if 10 is worth the effort. Help would be appreciated.
