How come certain theads (such as philosophy and religion) not appear on the active forums list anymore? Few people actually go into that forum, but i'd like to hear what other people got to say (if its put out in active forums more people will reply). Also could i rename my thread on 'scientific probability of god' something like ,' probability of God evolving' and move it to the evolution forum (i think people will pay more attention to it there, and its more on the subject of evolution anyway (advanced evolution)

Hi, im doing a sceince fair project about a Near Earth Object being captured by Earth's gravity. I just bought Starry Night Pro 4.5 and its great and all minus one snag. Im trying to find object SS84 in the sky. so i need to program to locate it. but it doenst have it and it says i can download the object well thats total :bs: and im trying to plot the asteroid in the program manualy with one problem. at http://neo.jpl.nasa.gov they list the orbital elements of object 2003 SS84 in something called Perehelion and Starry Night's orbital elements are in Paracentric or something like that. WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO FIND THIS ASTEROID?

I dont know if I should post this in here but I wanted to make a thread to see if anyone still likes this game. I've been trying to beat it for so long that once I finally beat it it's going to suck. It's pretty fun right? Even if it is pretty old. Am I the only one that thinks they should make a new one with all the same mechanics, just better graphics?

CANES 38 GATORS 33 We were down 10-33 when I left the stadium, and as soon as I was walking out of the stadium, the Hurricanes showed us why we're the best by mounting a classic comeback to defeat the Gators, complete with a interception with 6 seconds on the clock with Florida in danger of making another touchdown. GO CANES

Hi Everyone, I think at least once, some of you may have felt the same way as I do when I try to seach for some information. I try to search something with google and it does show me some links. But out of those thousands of links I can't seem to find one link that would provide me with all the details. What the site does is that it directs me to another link. I mean suppose I searched for evolution. What I would like to see is not just a page or two but an entire e-book on evolution. I mean is it just me or all of you are sick of travelling from one page to another, or even worse, one site to another!!! I mean wouldn't it be nice to see that you searched for - t…

HI Everyone, I am new here and this is the first time I've joined a forum. I don't even know whether this message is gonna show up or not. (Fingers Crossed) I just hope that it will and someone will reply. Though I don't know yet if I am allowed to post this kind of stuff. Anyway, I would just like to say that I am just a novice and know nothing about anything. I just hope that I will learn lots of things from u guys and hope to make some new friends. I had this one question though - can I post ( For instance ) any kind of (say) mathematical problem or ask questions like - what is red blood corpuscle ? I mean how do I interact with u guys or this forum ? …

Sony has its greasy little fingers in all the little media honey pots all over the globe: movies, music, video games and all the delivery systems for these products. Now they think they have influence enough to ban music from being played in public establishments? Pay royalties? With all the feeling and passion I can muster, I say this. "Sorry buck futters." Half of these morons' income comes from their music being played in public places by such extablishments, coffee shops, doctors offices and the like, and they have the gawl to charge these people money to play it in the first place? Does a dentist have to pay daily royaltees for the painting on his wall?…

http://www.newsday.com/news/nationworld/nation/wire/sns-ap-bake-sale-protest,0,5768770,print.story?coll=sns-ap-nation-headlines DALLAS -- Southern Methodist University shut down a bake sale Wednesday in which cookies were offered for sale at different prices, depending on the buyer's race or gender. The sale was organized by the Young Conservatives of Texas, who said it was intended as a protest of affirmative action. A sign said white males had to pay $1 for a cookie. The price was 75 cents for white women, 50 cents for Hispanics and 25 cents for blacks. Members of the conservative group said they meant no offense and were only trying to protest the us…

I found a site that helps illustrate the problems of translations across languages. I often find that people find it hard to conceive that there is rarely a piece of text that can be directly translated; it’s nice to have a demonstration. Plus it's funny! http://www.tashian.com/multibabel/ Original English Text: I know why the caged bird sings Translated to French: Je sais pourquoi l'oiseau mis en cage chante Translated back to English: I know why the bird put out of cage sings Translated to German: Ich weiß, warum der Vogel, der aus Rahmen heraus gesetzt wird, singt Translated back to English: I know, why the bird, which is set from framewor…

http://www.lucidity.com/LucidDreamingFAQ2.html This stuff is fun. I did the clapping thing a week or so ago. If you don't know what "the clapping thing" is, it is when you look at your hands and clap while dreaming to assert control over the dream. Anyone here any good at this?

It`s been annonced today that in the UK the police will no longer arrest you for possesion of cannabis, and in 4 months time it will be degraded in status to a class C drug. no weights or exact measurements were given as to how much constitutes possesion or "dealing", but it`s a step in the right direction and I don`t even smoke the stuff !!!
