I'd like to create a Hall of Shame for all of the infamously memorable people on SFN. People that are: Idiotic Strawmanners Trolls Twats Pseudoscientists Religion-spreading evolution-hating people And so on. Shall we begin? Make your suggestions here. (Please-just their names and what they did. No name-calling, flaming, or whatever. If you were put here and you disagree, hush.)

This is my first post. this is a question thats been bugging me for quite some time, I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could answer ! Try to read it a bit thoroughly since this is very hard to explain. I just recently decided to post this online today. It started way back before I could talk, as long as I can remember Ive had an odd ability dealing with sticks. Whenever I grab 2 sticks of length between 6~ 15 inches and "drum with them" ( it doesn't have to be drumsticks. I often use tree branches )or tap them on a surface Im able to visualize any kind of reality I can think of in my right eye. Think of it as a tv placed in front of your eye and your left …

Imagine if Gandalf the Grey had stood with his staff on the bridge at Khazad Dum, and spake thus unto the Balrog: "No admittance to public. I am authorised to inform you as employee of the Secret Fire and administrator of the flame of Anor, that you must return and exit via public access. No admittance! Authorised personnel only."

Heisenberg or why the electrons don't fall in the nucleus According to the classical Physics , electrons, being attracted by the nucleus of the atom, should fall inside it and so all matter should collapse. Heisenberg was the first to explain why this doesn't happen and the matter is solid. The answer was in his famous indetermination principle that can be "explained" in this way. The electrons have a kind of "vibration" that increases as we force them in a smaller space and the nucleus is so small that there is no way to force them there unless we use a very big force. It is as if we have a few people around in a room : they will move around doing something. If the roo…

Only 1 of the questions are True, and only 1 is false the rest are ? marks. A well-liked college teacher had just completed making up the final examinations and had turned off the lights in the office. Just then a tall, broad figure with dark glasses appeared and demanded the examination. The professor opened the drawer. Everything in the drawer was picked up and the individual ran down the corridor. The dean was notified immediately. Which one is true and which one is false. 1. The thief was tall and broad and wore dark glasses 2. The professor turned off the lights. 3. A tall figure demanded the examination. 4. the examination was picked up by someone. 5.Th…

Jinnah and Gandhi are very well known across the world as the leaders who freed indians from the reiging British. Gandhi had a part to play so did Jinnah and a lot of other leaders. Jinnah got Indian freed from Britishers (along with Gandhi and others) but he also managed to separate the Muslims who felt inferior living with Hindus (history says I don't however I understand Hindu historian would say the opposite). I want you to decide on this debate whose topic I say shall be : "Why Gandhi is more famous than Jinnah". Please take this debate lighlty, no hard feeling or offence involved.

If everyone spoke the truth, how do you think the world would be different? Best Answer - Chosen by Asker most conflict occurs not because of lies but because of truths that does not coincide with another truth. for example there are two persons facing each other in the middle the other guy holds a coin, he sees the heads, and the other sees the tails. if one says he sees the heads, and the other says he sees the tail, and they did not agree, can each other say that the other is lying? the fact is that they are both seeing the coin, the truth is they are seeing only one side of the coin... everybody speaks of the truth, it wouldnt be different. Things have been that…

Because morality is a critical factor in how we live our life and how we choose our laws, it may be useful to get a scientist's opinion on it. Indeed, there are few things more important than how you decide what ought and ought not be done. Also, if you've changed your mind on where you get your morality, it may be interesting to hear about. If you act against your morals, it would also be interesting to know why you might do that. --- Oops! Somehow the last part of the poll question got eaten. It should have said: Where do you get your morality from? That is, how do you decide what ought to be done?
