Speculations
Pseudoscientific or speculatory threads belong here.
The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:
- Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
- Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
- Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.
The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

Is there a finite amount of quantum positions or states that would also put a finite limit on all the possible forms to open ended evolution? Basically does QM put a cap on the limit to which life can evolve into?

Here's the "scientific paper" version of RELATIVITY+ on a publicly-available website: http://www.relativityplus.info/ Click on the link at the bottom of the single page to download the PDF file. Personally I think it's better to then print it and read it offline, but some prefer to read material like this directly on the screen. Each to his own. Note that this is a "qualitative model", more commonly known as a "toy model". It doesn't qualify as a theory, and it certainly isn't a "Theory of Everything". Doubtless there will be some errors in there, perhaps even a couple of howlers. Please can I have your feedback to help spot anything that's incorrect, or any…

Ponicare Russell et al said self referencing statements ie impredicative definitions are invalid texts books on logic tell us self referencing ,statements (petitio principii) are invalid Godel uses at least 2 in his incompleteness theorem 1 The general result as to the existence of undecidable propositions reads: Proposition VI: To every ω-consistent recursive class c of formulae there correspond recursive class-signs r, such that neither v Gen r nor Neg (v Gen r) belongs to Flg© (where v is the free variable of r). Godel gives a prof of this he uses in that proof forumlas 1-45 formula 16 is self referencing 16. 0 N x ≡ x (n+1) N x ≡ …

Negation of the axiom of choice and Evil Beside the particular case of the axiom of choice CC(2 through m), countable choice for sets of n elements n=2 through m, there is the particular case where the whole axiom is negated, no choice at all. In "All things are numbers" in Logic Colloquium 2001, and in "About the strength of Evil" in ASL Winter Meeting 2004 2005, I wrote that the numbers of attributes of Evil are infinite sums and products of integers. If there is no choice at all, which is a standing valid case, as I am changing my mind to include this case beside CC(2 through m),the only infinite sums or products well defined (existing) is the infin…

GravityConstantSecrets The constant G fell out of consistent measure. No real magic involved, just pure physics pleasure. The gravity field is everywhere “felt” the same; A finite Black Hole Center gets Absolute Blame: Z-electron Oscillator as Source and Sink, Whose continuous in-out supply does not blink. A concentric array of shell-orbit spaces Are shell-binding-electron stopping off places Earth’s Outer Shell is atom-grainy as can be; The average size of the grain turns out to be G. How Newton and Einstein unknowingly discovered the Higgs particle Earth consists of circulating, ideal-fluid dark matter that is helical string wrapped by visible mat…

As we progress in technology, we advance in travel. To think nothing travels faster than light is madness. Any law of physics can be broken. So the question remains: is the whole universe a theroy or can anything happen in this lawless universe. As you know, sound was thought unbreakable, but we've broken it. Now, even Mach 5 is a simple task as we have Mach 27. But light seems to be unsurpasses. The fastest things go 99.99% of the speed of light, or do they. I think there things out there that are beyond our comprehension, things that would put light to shame and Newton's laws to misery. If anyone agrees or disagrees, speak now!

Is the uncertainly principal in any way applicable to wave function collapse in that the collapse itself is related to the uncertainty? What I am trying to get at is that uncertainty and probability are described as fundamental aspects of a quantum system. Such systems display properties that can both be wave and particle like. Wave function collapse then if I understand correctly is really just an eigenstate of superposition? Though if I understand decoherence correctly at all the idea of the wave function collapse is merely illusionary, or never really reached. I think this is dynamical decoherence correct? Well if that’s true is the uncertainty itself the illusionary m…

The concept of charge as currently best defined is a math-coherent myth. In terms of detailed deterministic local event mechanics, it is a relative measure of the excess or deficit of binding elecrons between the two objects said to exhibit atraction or repulsion. An object with a realtive excess of binding electrons, A, placed next to an object B with a relative deficit, will have more electons pulsing in and out of it to mark energy state-- and depending on relative electron pulsing energy states, there is a naturally tendency to equalize. The energy state gradient at the general location in space-time determines the degree of electron exchange required for adjacency e…

COMMENT PHYSICS TODAY To begin with, I am truly saddened, because a large number of physicists (university professors, researchers, etc) are so blind, that they fail to see and understand the following: 1. Galileo was wrong (the Tower of Pisa Experiment). Therefore, the “equivalence principle” of the General Theory of Relativity (which, as we all know, is based on Galileo’s experiment) is obviously wrong, too. 2. The advance of Mercury’s perihelion (43''/century)is due to the Sun’s revolution around the center of mass of the solar system, and not to the curvature of space-time around the Sun, as Einstein erroneously asserts. 3. By c…

I made another thread about the relationship of QM and organic evolution in which I thought was interesting so I would like to rehash such with a different question. In quantum decoherence a themes is that quantum systems are not isolated environments. If by QM its possible to model the total reality of an environment, even if its by individual systems operating as a collective whole, be it an organism or a star. The question then I think takes on more of a role being QM is a framework in which to explain the presence of something so elementary in these systems such as a star and or chemistry. So using a QM framework somewhat akin to decoherence do you think it w…

Speculation Postulate 1: space is expanding everywhere (between galaxies as well as inside atoms) Postulate 2: matter is composed of point like particle If every thing scale with time, the density of the universe is constant. Looking back in time, a meter stick seem to contract, but if you go back in time, a meter stick will look the same, everything had contracted. Do you see what I mean ? Thanks in advence for your comments

Physicists at Krackinbrein University in Polend, have discovered evidence of photon “dandruff”, which they say indicates that photons may have “hair”. Photons have long been believed to be completely hairless, but the new research could untangle some of the mysterious properties of these very small bits of matter and/or energy ("or something like that", the researchers say). The scientists are eagerly awaiting the results of new experiments, and have said they expect to find different “styles” of photon's hair. There is eager anticipation of the photon “mullet”, the “Swayze”, the “Jong-Il”; some expect to find bald photons after all: this is (the scientists say) b…

I am here to speak on (masculinity/handsome) now I hope I'm not saying offencive things . OK the first thing I need to do is define masculinity/handsome in a simple way, it is the opposite of feminine. so for instance if were talking about the body, soft & small would fit on the female side , hard muscular and big would be the male side . and for facial features thin nose, thin lips, small jaw bone, small cheek bone, pretty eyes, lighter skin, female. and for male, large lips, large nose ,large jaw bone, large cheek bone, handsome eyes with large bone above eyes, dark skin, broad shoulders, male . Now let me get on another subject about the essence of <masculin…

Energy is a measurement of two items, one entity (mass) and one action (speed). Entities can change form but not their total content therefore mass is conserved. Speed can be transfered between entities therefore although speed is conserved (conservation of momentum) it is not necessarily conserved by the same entity; but total content of the system (speed and mass) is conserved (decay does not occur). Heat is a measure of (particle) speed, sound is a measure of pressure. Speed and pressure cause changes of form (deformation).

Life at its simplest remove is essentially the storage of energy. This storing (a process) does not come free; Life has to use energy to store energy. This extra comes from the environment. Life is an ongoing balance between using stored energy to find more of it, but there's no free lunch.

Is it possible to make environments in which lifespan of particles change? I mean if you could make one that could expand a pion lifetime would that open up new ways of research? I mean just from one imaginary point of view if you will what would a mass of pion act like if you could interact with it in a variety of ways.

I'm sure many of you know of the film The secret. There was little science in the video which would lead even mildly sceptical people to pass it off as rubbish. Briefly, it says that through the power of human emotion and thought we can bring about what ever we want in our lives no matter how big or small it is. They say in the video that this "law of attraction" is strongly linked with quantum physics. I don't quite understand the link below but I think many of you would. Dr. John Hagelin Quantum physicist presents the answer. its linked with stopping crime and stuff. http://streaming.mou.org/MOU/Dr_Hagelin/Tucsontalk.wmv If that link does not work go…

About the philosophy of the negation of the axiom of choice I refer to set theory with urelements ZFU as in "The axiom of choice", Thomas Jech, North Holland 1973. Let us assume the negation of the axiom of choice and that space of particles is U of ZFU. Let U1xU2X....XUiX...... be the void set with Ui a set of locations. We can see the Existence and the Non Existence linked, contradicting the Existence of Parmenides and the Becoming of Heraclites. We can see the Infinite and the Void tied up in an unexpected way. We can see that Non Existence is closer to the Infinite than to the finite. We can see that we can apprehend space with mathematics in a wa…

COMPLAINT Today, various "great Physicists", Universities, reviews, forums, etc are absolutely responsible for "blocking" the evolution of Physics. Unfortunately, all the above have led Physics to a "Middle Age" for the following simple reasons: A. RELATIVITY THEORY 1. As it is known, huge amounts of money have been spent for the verification of the Relativity Theory, for instance 200,000,000 dollars for the Gravity Probe B experiment and the results obtained are being questioned! Experiment Gravity Probe b, is a great foolishness of Physicists. On the contrary, with small amounts of money, if the experiments suggested on http://www.tsolkas.gr are perform…

I am taking a college course in yoga to meet the Physical Education requirement for my degree in Computer Science. My yoga teacher emphasizes a lot on spiritual beliefs and often teaches them as fact. She teaches a lot about spirits and the "astral plane" but never provides scientific evidence to support these lessons. She says that these beliefs are known to be true and have been proven by science. Whenever I ask her for evidence, she often says that I need to practice meditation and go there myself. I do practice meditation as she has instructed, but I sometimes have blurry vision whenever I open my eyes again. I told her that I was concerned about this, but sh…

New metaphors can create new realities Lakoff and Johnson, coauthors of “Metaphors we Live By”, speak of a newly arrived Iranian student who had mistaken the constant refrain he heard from other students that “the solution of my problems” meant that they were talking about a metaphor that was unfamiliar to him but sounded very intriguing. This Iranian student was very disappointed when he discovered that these other students were speaking in frustration rather than of a new and wonderful metaphor. He had mistaken this ‘solution of my problems’ was some kind of chemical mixing bowl, “which he took to be a large volume of liquid, bubbling and smoking, containing al…
