Speculations
Pseudoscientific or speculatory threads belong here.
The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:
- Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
- Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
- Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.
The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

EXAMPLE From the top of the "Tower of Pisa", we release a mass m1=1kgr made from cotton wool.. We then repeat the experiment with a mass m2=10^18kgr , consisting of the material of a neutron star. If υ1 is the velocity of mass m1 as it falls onto the surface of the Earth and υ2 is the velocity of mass m2 (as it falls onto the surface of the Earth), we are seeking:: How much greater the velocity with which the cotton wool mass falls onto the surface of the Earth is, compared to the velocity of the neutron star mass. The mass of the Earth is taken as M=6.10^24kgr and masses m1 and m2 are considered point masses see, solution at [link removed by mod] tsol…

Use one of the lists of particles published by the Particle Data Group or the data published in ‘The Elements’ by John Emsley to construct a table showing the increase in mass (force of matter + force of vacuum). Form a fraction by placing the difference in mass values over the higher value (mass value of 3ev followed by 5ev gives a fraction of 2/5). A graph of baryon fractions is shown below. By constructing a theoretical mathematical sequence for comparison with the experimental fractions, we see the effect of ‘vacuum force’ on the ‘elasticity of matter’. On the left we see the relaxed state and on the right we see the compressed state. High compression causes particles…

Here is an idea that came to me this morning, which I would like to share. It is more of an observational theory than something proven. It is presented to make the mind think. If we start with two electrons in an atomic orbital with equal and opposite spins and movement, the magnetic waves cancel. Coming from this orbital is essentially zero net magnetic output even though the two electrons are charge in motion generating relatively strong magnetic fields. It is result of the wave addition. This zero magnetic output would also be exhibited if the electrons were theoretically stationary. If we started to add energy to the stationary charges, and the spins and dire…

The true nature of the natural universe in 10 easy steps: 1) The universe is not physical. 2) The universe consists of two(2) elements, time/space. This means that time/space "is" the universe. 3) Time and space do not require matter/energy to exist. 4) Entropy has no effect on time/space. 5) Time/space has always existed. 6) Time is independent of space and space is independent of time. The only thing they share in common is that they are both eternal. (without beginning and without end) 7) Time and space are independent of energy/matter. 8) If matter/energy can't be created or destroyed then matter/energy has always existe…

The main thing to know about when concerning measuerement (which is good for me to explain, since i thoroughly investigate psychophysics), is that the fundamental matter at the infinitesimal size of protino's and neutralino's, is that they ''act'' differently to larger matter. Some how, the matter at the fundamental size when not being observed takes the form of wavelike properties. Macroscopic matter however, can somehow escape the laws of the smaller statistics they are made of... in other words, a car moving on the road doesn't seem to take all the paths it could do if it where a single particle moving through space. Consider a photon hitting off a mirror at …

The universe has mass. This mass creates a gravitational field that spans the Universe. Whether the Universe is flat (very doubtful), open, or closed is still very much in debate (although recent research suggests an open universe doomed to a cold death), but one thing that is clear in all three scenarios is that gravity exists. Gravitational fields warp time. It is well known in GR that bodies in stronger gravitational fields appear to move more slowly if the the observer is in a weaker gravitational field. Gravity is not range-limited. It's effect falls off by 1/4 if the distance is doubled from the gravity source. It may get incalculably weak at massive distanc…

There is a lot of confusion about time, and what is it around here, quite naturally. I mean, what is time? Is it really a dimension? Is it really a continuum? Does it exist independant of the mind? One rule of quantum physics does exist, which encompasses all of these notions. It is the cornerstone of Copenhagen, and the rulebook of quantum metaphysics -- but don't mistake this thread as a philosophy of time... At the heart physics, is the phenomena of the mind. For ages past, physicists have been aware that the reality at large, the reality we see everyday is not the external world, but a recreation, a representation of that reality. It seems that the world we s…

One of my favorite roller coasters is named Déjà Vu, because first you go through the course one way then you go through it the other way again. I wrote this in my My Space blog. I don't really feel like rewriting the whole thing to make it fit better for this post, so just remember what I originally wrote this for. I KNOW I am going to get a bunch of sh*t for posting this, but I suppose you can go ahead and say "you have this wrong" and "you have this wrong". But whatever. I want to post it anyway! "Could the ride be right? We all thought that the definition of déjà vu was a little skewed when you put it with the ride. Yes, you go through the same thing twice,…

In context of the origin of life to me one basic aspect is that it holds a molecular basis. This simple physical fact I think gets left out of the equation in regards to larger issues. Really to me what you have then is an organism, for what it is like the rest of the physical universe its physical! This to me then states that something had to allow for this, physically speaking. So in a reductionist sense what operates on a chemical level to describe bonding and other behavior, either call it thermodynamics, statistical mechanics, or quantum mechanics. The most base reality though is life has to exist like all other phenomena through a physical and or molecular basis. …

Following on from the ruling on postings, I have decided not to separate my proposals on a Linear Force model and Hall fractions as separation makes it impossible to provide an interpretation. For the record, I have listed below the papers on the Hall fractions of isotopes, mesons, atomic structure, baryons and linear force, in that order. So check out this "White Paper" one some magic rocks/pebbles that improve the sound of any audio system. These rocks do not connect in anyway to the audio system but still have an effect? Hummmmm I would love to hear what some of you have to say. "Brilliant Pebbles is an original concept of Machina Dynamica. Brilliant Pebbles capitalizes on two specific properties of mineral crystals; these properties - vibration absorption and Radio Frequency Interference/Electromagnetic Interference (RFI/EMI) absorption - are the consequence of atomic mechanisms in the crystals' highly symmetrical structures. The Original (Large) Brilliant Pebbles is a 3-inch tall glass …

This idea came to me today. We start with a hydrogen atom. If we input a photon, the electron will be kicked up into a higher energy state. If you look at this closely the electron will gain more EM potential that the proton, since it has more added motion for its charge for extra magnetic potential. The proton is heavy so there is less magnetic . The net result is the photon does not split symmetrically but asymmetrically.

Hey guys, I posted this on another forum and was wondering what you might think of this. Mods, feel free to move to another section if deemed appropriate. Lets for the moment say that space itself is infinite and all matter was created in a small area as a result of spontaneous vacuum polarization. Also assume that all matter, including photons, are nothing more than folded up space and the spontaneous annihilation of matter according to their respective half lives are in fact the folded space unfolding in an instant, sending the most basic ripples possible (photons) in all directions, according to the as yet unknown propagating attributes (viscosity variables) of spa…

I know these things are true because I saw them on TV: Snow gets heavier when it melts. (CBC News) God was an alien. (von Danniken) The Bible should be taken as an historical document. (Various conArtists) The pyramids were built by aliens. Stonehenge was built by aliens or maybe Atlanteans. (Various conArtists) Giant inter-dimensional space lizards are controlling the world's governments. (Space, but it was a documentary) Atlanteans, or maybe aliens, are responsible for every advance mankind has ever made. (Various conArtists) Ghosts are real and it's ghosts that cause the cold spots in your house, not bad insulation and vapour barrier…

Time slows down slightly even when the object is moving by subluminal speed and the contemporary physics has no explanation for this, because this phenomena is direct consequence of constant light speed postulate. Therefore every causal explanation goes beyond relativity and mainstream science as such (which even doesn't permit the motion by superluminal speed), therefore it cannot be answered by causal way in strictly mainstream science forum, where the only relevant answer is the derivation of time dilatation from Lorentz symmetry postulate. The Aether Wave Theory (AWT) provides a simple explanation based on assumption, the vacuum is behaving like dense foam, compos…

The question I would like to propose is does the brain contain personality software that runs behind the scenes to shape behavior propensity? The analogy would be a robot that contains programs that run different routines. In the case of the brain, these would be analogous to living software and therefore don't have to start out with a lot of content, just structure. Their innate capacity would be to gather data and evolve themselves. The reason I ask this is connected to the observation of the kitten. One can take a kitten from its mother and its siblings, when it is too young to have gotten any training in terms of learning to be cat. We can even place the kitten …

Space and Time. Everything is said to exist in the fabric of space-time, but is this really an acurate saying? Did time exist before space? In a 3D graph of the universe IF space is only acting on two of the axes, then that which is acting on the third axis would have to be time. As we turn and angle our view of the universe could it be what we are really doing is turning and angling all of 2D space relative to this particular view? To find a point in space we need three points, but if by the act of turning and angling our view we are always perpendicular to the 2D plane of space, then what we are seeing as depth is really a component of time. If we look at a 2D space…

Positive and negative charge are often viewed as equal and opposite entities but there are observations that indicates wider differences. One observation has to do with the positive charge's preference for higher mass to form a proton and the negative charges preference for smaller mass, i.e., electron. Although it is possible to form a negative proton and positive electrons these are unstable or exist at a higher energy state than the proton and electron, with the latter always the final default state. One may argue that because of the current proton-electron univers, this is the reason for instability. To test this hypothesis let us assume one of the continuou…

Funny - i don't know if this is a widely known argument used by science against the bible - i have never seen it - but it is amazing now that i think about it. I was reading Genesis, the relevant chapters in the Noah story - time and again, it is emphasized that EVERY living beast on land, as well as critters and flying creatures (fish are an exception), came into the ark. "From all flesh with the spirit of life in it" is a phrase used again and again. So that being the case, according to Creationists why would God leave out all extinct animals from the ark? Because he wanted to? If he could fit elephants inside, surely he could fit in Compsognathus LOL - especial…

One cause of radioactive decay of atoms is the decrease in wavelength of the atomic wave structure; with distance from the atomic centre. In the case of atoms the Hall fraction (wavelength) decreases rapidly at the larger atomic numbers making it difficult to add and retain particles of a fixed wavelength (i.e. the wavelength of a free electron). The atom not only has to capture the electron but in order to retain the electron the atom has to compact the electron on one axis; so that the compacted electron wavelength fits the outer wavelength (Hall fraction) of the atomic structure. The nucleus plays a different part in that it has to retain the proton that pairs with th…

Hi, everyone! A. Zeilinger wrote, "All modern experiments confirm the quantum predictions with unprecedented precision. Evidence overwhelmingly suggests that a local realistic explanation of nature is not possible." (A. Zeilinger, Nature, 408 (2000), 639.) We can make a home experiment to show that in the antigravitational field some non-local phenomena happen. 1 Steps of the experiment Please visit the following link to view the picture. http://xczhx.c59.zgsj.com/nonlocal/100_7312.JPG (1) Prepare a scrap of blank squared paper which is to be placed at an upper position and hence is called the upper scrap hereafter. (2) Lay the upper scrap face up a…
