Pseudoscientific or speculatory threads belong here.

Speculations Forum Rules

The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:

  1. Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
  2. Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
  3. Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.

The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

free will is a construct of our imaginations rather than a truism. that is, in the realm of physical reality. we are all interconnected by one another and our respective environments. and so are compelled to make choices and acts accordingly. however, if given the luxuary of not having such constraints placed upon us, could we still be freely choosing? i look forward to insight regarding this question of mine.

if the nucleus consists of shells of 50 nucleons each of which consists of subshells of 2*1², 2*2², 2*3², 2*4², and 2*5² nucleons then the magic numbers would be 2,8,18,32,50,52,68,82,100. the observed magic numbers are 2,8,20,28,50,82,126. I make no attempt to explain the discrepencies. I only point out that it comes close to explaining the observed numbers and is very similar to the electron shells/subshells. if we assume that the neutrons that arent part of alpha particles form a shell of their own then the formula for stable nuclei becomes neutrons not part of alpha particles=total neutrons-protons=(P/12.36)² hence the number of these neutrons becomes…

Hello, all... I have been thinking about the best way to describe the universe for a long time now. This has taken me through many avenues -- from the most philosophical ways of thinking to the most concrete ways. For about a year now, though, I have been explicitly turning my attention to the world of physics. Like all of us around here, I have been trying to come up with my own pet TOE (I'm not talking about a body part!). The problem that I had been having was to decide just how "mathematical" vs. "physical" it would be. But I've just now come to realize that a TOE cannot be a physical theory, because that will just start an "infinite regress". (It's a comp…

Been reading William Lyne's book, "Occult Ether Physics" which explains Tesla's theories and talks about the ideas of the Ether at beginning of 20th cent. It all makes so much sense to me and seems to be a unified theory unlike Relativity/Quantum Mechanics!! So how did we end up with Relativity which leaves my feeble brain like porridge??

  6. The universe is motion or transfer of energy. The expansion can't be into nothing so it is into itself. The dimensions of the universe are in relation to c. If the observer travels at c he takes no time to traverse distance so the universe is relatively very small. By that notion. expansion is relative to our slowing down in relation to c, which is in accordance with entropy. The universe's size is governed by the speed of the observer relative to c, so it isn't really expanding. It's an illusion we observe as we slow due to entropy.

Guy that created this Alex Chiu is really weard (he claims that he invented immortality), but it seems that his stuff works. (it was even mentioned in Kevin Thrudeau s book) What do you think about this? Is this worth trying?

Let's all drop all pseudoscience and become a regular person with a regular job. Live, raise family, and die. The laws are good an acceptable, we just needs more engineers. There's really nothing to see, everything is predicted. There are quarkz in atoms, and there are solar system and galaxy. What else you want to know? you can't be as small as an atom or as large as the universe, so there isn't any business and application for you. Agree? Who's with me?

Zero dimensional means existance with no measurable quantity. A point is merely a representation for the immeasurable. I think zero dimensional points are actual phenomena, here's why: Volume is spontaneously created and we observe universal expansion. Since the distances are increasing, space is created from an immeasurable quantity or zero dimension or 'nothing'. Could distance or volume expand if there were no zero dimension? I really do think there exists a zero dimension with no measurable quantities.

The following table is a re-arrangement of the table and fractional sequences mentioned in a paper by H Heseilberg (arXiv:cond-mat/0510688 v2 20 Dec 2005). Conducting a search for the fractional structure of particles and atoms reveals that different methods are needed for elementary particles, composite particles, and composites with shells (atoms) but the result (with only two exceptions) are always sequences of Laughlin and Pseudo-scalar fractions; for example: The table of strange mesons can be re-tabulated as follows: The Tables of Electron Binding Energies are to long to reproduce here, but the following illustrates what can be done: The table …

The Moon & Bermuda Triangle By Suhail Jalbout SCIENTISTS BELIEVE THAT the Moon is spiraling at present away from the Earth. If that is the case, then the Moon was at a much nearer distance to Earth when the solar system was born 4.6 billion years ago. It is now receding at a rate of 3.8 cm per year, whereas, it was receding, at the time the solar system was born, at the rate of 10 km per year.{1} Let us assume, that the 3.8 cm per year rate had been constant throughout the Earth’s and the Moon’s life time. This would mean that the Moon had recessed, to date, 175,000 km. The Moon’s closest perigee is 356,000 km.{2}So, the minimum distance that ever occurred betw…

Looking at selection bias, which if I understand such is basically to mean the impact any particular structured observation has when using statistical data, does this correlate to the concept of selection rules in quantum mechanics or chemistry, or science in general that uses statistics in something? In the wiki article a selection rule is defined for in quantum mechanics as something that yields a nonzero probability. Is this actually structured into the formalism of QM somehow as to related to selection bias? I think the latter was worked on or discovered if you want way after QM had been established. It would seem to be then that if selection bias is true, could …

For the sake of argument, let's say that the universe is a balloon; the surface of the balloon being our universe. Now if the radius of the balloon increases at a constant rate, then the surface area of the balloon will increase at an accelerating rate. Beings on the surface of the balloon would see their universe as having an accelerating expansion. So my question is, could the growth of the universe be constant in some higher dimension that we can't observe? In other words, we can see the balloon as expanding by a linear increase of r, but the 2d beings on the surface of the balloon can't.

Could possible evidence of such points towards a quantum biosphere? Such as that if MWI is true that some worlds select for mutations over other worlds? Such as some mutations might be beneficial in a variety of worlds and get selected, while others might by only beneficial in some and still get selected? MAYAN AND EGYPTIAN EPOCHS COINCIDE BY SUHAIL JALBOUT Two ancient societies, the Maya and the Egyptians, had the same cyclic epoch of approximately 5125 years. Each epoch is separated from the preceding one by a global world catastrophe. The Maya, who lived in South America around 2000 B.C, had 5 epochs of world history. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th epochs happened in the remote past. Their 5th epoch will end on December 21, 2012. The Maya believed that on this date a global catastrophe would occur. The survivors would enter into the 5th dimension and become more in harmony with the universe. Similarly, the ancient Egyptian priests had a "usual interval" or epoc…

Hi, It is time again for my yearly update. These cosmological speculations were largely 'induced' from the philosophical paradigm/syllogism: "We and the Universe around Us are involved in an ongoing, staged process of self-engenderment or self-creation; wherein and whereby the Creator of Us and the Universe around Us is attempting to engender or create itself." see http://www.self-engenderment.com My variant of the BB/BC model presumes that the BB event/body displayed a high degree of 'angular momentum'. When this conserved AM began to be co-opted by emerging sub-atomic structures, the BB event/body partially collapsed, and as a consequence ejected 2 large …

Water is critically important to life. Very few, if any, biological systems or reactions will function without water. There is no substitute for water in life as we know it. Logic would suggest that the evolution of life was also dependant upon the unique properties of water. Is the affect of water taken into consideration within evolutionary theories or is this variable left out even though nothing will work without its unique properties? The answer is this critical variable is left out of the analysis even though it was no doubt critical to every step in evolution. That being said, what is unique about water, is its properties are defined by hydrogen bonding. The o…

  19. E = mc2 = m(c/cos0)2 By Suhail Jalbout Nothing can travel faster than the speed of light; the Theory of Relativity tells us. I think that it is possible for a single pulse of light energy, transmitted at random, to do just that if projected on an incline. The speed of each projected pulse will travel faster than the speed of light. I am not certain whether my analysis is purely a mathematical exercise or whether it has important theoretical and practical implications. I leave this in the hands of the experts. Here are the equations that support my hypothesis. A. SPEED Let c = the speed of the light energy pulse from the source (the speed of light) V = t…

From the perspective of a photon traveling here from the big bang the world as it is now would appear to have been instantly created. For me this implies the idea of predestination. That is, everything that has happened and will happen was determined in the big bang itself. Hope you can follow my logic. It also implies that there is a unseen dimension which is timeless and in which all matter is in immediate contact with all other matter.

Hallo! Sorry if I bother you with trivialities or a topic which may have been discussed before, long ago, but after seeing websites like this: http://www.reformation.org I could not help wondering how can some people get so provocative... So my question is: Foucault's pendulum is considered a crucial proof that the Earth rotates. Nevertheless: 1) It can't possibly be the ONLY such (direct) proof! (Lutheran fundamentalists seem to mock about the fact that even NASA "fails" to provide "more recent" direct evidence.) How many other proofs are known? I can very briefly recall Coriolis effect on hurricanes and winds, as well as the motion of ballistic missi…

I "claim" (trying to keep the crude skepticism at bay) to shoulder both voluntary and involuntary relationships with that of clairsentience, claircognizance, past life regression, aural capacities, healing capacities, blah blah blah blah blah blah... Essentially, I was contemplating the absolute existence of dimensions: Are th…
