I'm curious to know if it would be possible to have both my username and the title/URL of my Scienceforums.net blog changed? Can that be done or would it be too much hassle or require deleting the previous blog (which I admit I totally forgot I even had).

remember all that time ago when we hit 100,000 posts? i mean, this is the post so anway, blike was going to instal the arcade section again... but it never happened... i know that we've just had a server upgrade so it might have been a bad time to do it, but now that's done what's happening? i accept that latex and the 4xx (404, 403 etc) errors are initially more important, but i can ask!

Hey, I was just reading through really old posts, and if you look at the 100,000 posts thread, there are promises of an arcade... gahh where is it!?

The Today's Posts search has been screwing up a lot today. Using IE7, click "My Account" then "Today's Posts"... It keeps presenting me with a "You must wait 5 seconds between searches" error, even though I'd been viewing the page I was on for a few minutes before searching. Then, just now, it gave me a "Sorry - No matching results" message when pressing "Today's Posts." http://www.scienceforums.net/forum/search.php?do=getdaily It doesn't do it every time, but it's happened multiple times to me today, and a few times yesterday.

How do you use it? I think it's really cool and I have no idea how to get it to work. Does it work with tags? I've already looked a bit for another thread as I'm sure this has been covered but I can't find anything. A simple link to an old tutorial should suffice. Thanks

What types of threads, exactly, qualify for going in there? How exactly does a thread end up going in there, and do you get infraction if it happens to be one of our own? Not that I will try to create such a thread, but I'm just curious....

Another forum I use has a symbol by each person's name, which is a tiny flag, letting you know where the person is from (or which random flag they've decided to choose in order to look cool or rebellious or something). I like this idea, especially for this forum, since there are so many education-based questions, which would be easier to approach if we knew what kind of background the asker was from. For instance, if someone asks about engineering degrees and they're from the UK, and they get an answer from someone in the US, and both are assuming they're in the same country, things might get confusing. It's also interesting to see where members are from at a gla…

Why has the "Forums" link been cryptically renamed "Community"? What does GUTs stand for if it only links to the maths tutorial section? And do we really need a link at the top to that section? (especially, but not only, because it is quite small at the moment) If it were for all tutorials then maybe a link at the top would be one thing, but does everyone need a link to maths tutorials? Finally do we really need an Interviews link if there have not been any interviews yet? I'm not saying don't do the interviews, they were interesting when they last existed, but why keep a link up there? Isn't something like that quick and easy to remove / add? (I guess if it isn't…

For the last weeks I am having a hard time with computer viruses. Just hanging out here I get AVAST alerts, the latest of which is 'Win32:Delf-GVX'. What do others know??? Oh no, I did not type that greenface.

Some of the staff recently brought up a rather interesting idea: Ground Up Threads, or GUTs as we like to call them. A GUT would explain a subject from the ground up (surprise) to the casual reader in a post-by-post format so the tutorial could be easily browsed and searched through for ideas and so the tutorial could be easy to understand. SFN could host GUTs on mathematics (similar to dave's long-lost calculus tutorials), physics, biology, and pretty much any science topic imaginable, as long as someone is willing to write the tutorial. Do you believe SFN should try this? If so, what should the GUTs be about?
