Ok so here recently I’ve been experiencing like a slight numbness but more of a tingling type feeling in my arms and legs. I’m only 20 6’6 200 lb’s exercise every now and then pretty fit. Not diabetic or anything like that pretty healthy..so far. Now I did try to look up the symptoms and the closest thing I could find that matched it was anxiety, the only thing that didn’t match there was Nasuea. It’s been going on for a few days now and I’m starting to get very worried it could be something serious. Could anyone help and give me some type of reasoning why it’s continuing?

  3. ( I have posted this in the biology section recently, but think this is a better section for it.) I've done a lot of research and there is no all in cure for it. Here are things that may have to do with it. Sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system pelvic floor muscles anxiety kegels/reverse kegels I've been to those forums where people have this problem and try to resolve it, I thought maybe if I want into a more science educated forum, I'd find better answers if someone looked deep into what may be the problem. -If it was anxiety/stress or the nervous system then alcohol should completely get rid of it during "Drunkness" but…

Why and/or how is it that epidural hematomas are able to cross the midline, while, at the same time, having an expansion that is stopped at suture lines, whereas subdural hematomas are unable to cross the midline due to having an expansion that is stopped by (cranial) dural septa? A source with some images illustrating the explanation for why would be helpful, but not necessary. Many thanks, in advance.

  7. What with the current war on salt, I was wondering if a simple way to reduce sodium would be to just drink lots of water. As I understand it, it will reduce your electrolytes of which sodium is one of the major ones. What with all the people who are dehydrated it might have other beneficial side-effects, rather than the more dubious side effects "normal" drugs have.

How is the c supposed to be pronounced in words such as encephalitis and encephalopathy? I've always said them with a soft c, but have heard many use a hard c. Most other words with a c between an n and e have a soft c sound..eg. incest, ancestor, so why do people insist of using the hard c when saying encephalitis?? Doesn't make sense to me.

Hi. What may be the name for it ? Happens frequently to me when overexerting muscles in awkward positions, mostly twisting torso/waist while sitting on floor and exerting lots of muscle force. Pain lasts over a week, very slowly fading and typically side of thorax. Like a ligament/muscle ruptures, shifts position. Trying to read more about it with the proper name.

I've quit consuming caffeine. I no longer drink coffee. But on occasion, I will order a decaf. Now, it may just be the placebo effect, but I swear on some occasions, the decaf gives me a slight buzz. Is decaf coffee really 100% caffeine free? Or is it more like 99%? 95%? Maybe only 90%?

  12. I've been eating a bit less than half teaspoon per day of this product. Then I found out there are heavy metals in chinese (and other) products so I asked lab tests. Here are the results Can you please tell me if it's safe to consume this product in regards of heavy metals? I ordered bacopa and ginkgo too but don't have their test results yet. Will post question about them too when I get them. PS. Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask about this, just can't understand this myself

  13. Hi Everyone I have just watched one of Dr Berg's Youtube videos entitled "Weight Loss Is Not Natural For Your Body". In the video, he says that if you are trying to lose body fat and you don't eat any fat at all, your body will react to the scarcity of dietary fat by clinging on to your own fat stores, thus preventing you from losing body fat. He also seems to imply that not eating any fat will cause you body to burn your protein stores instead, thereby causing muscle loss. He therefore says that you must eat some fat. However he does not say how much. Is Dr Berg correct about all of this? If yes, then how much is the minimum amount of fat (in grams or calories …

In many sports, especially those done in front of live audiences, said audience members are encouraged to cheer loudly for their favorite teams. The idea here is that you're supposed to give the athletes a burst of adrenaline to help them land the big score to help them win the game. But is there any real science behind this phenomenon? Is it scientifically confirmed if cheers actually have a direct, measurable impact on a person's performance, particularly his athletic performance? There is certainly a different feeling when you're performing in front of a crowd rather than in practice. It might be more exciting to play in front of a crowd. But do the chee…

  16. Hi Everyone I have become very confused about the Daily Values of all of the vitamins and minerals etc we are supposed to consume in order to remain healthy. I have spent several hours over the last few days on the website that I won't link to because of the anti-advertising rules trying to work out how to put meals together in order to make sure I get at least 100% of all of my DVs every day and to be honest, I rather feel I have wasted my time because I have been unable to find a manageable combination of foods which takes every value over 100%. It is much harder than doing the Rubik's Cube. It also seems to me that some of the DVs are set rather high. For example,…

  18. Hello, I have been looking everywhere to find the answer for this, because I don't want to take anything at face value. Basically, calcium and phosphate are related. Their absorption is increased by vit D. They are also both eliminated by the kidneys in urine. I am wondering why in CKD, hyperphosphatemia is an issue, but not hypercalcemia? If kidney function goes down, that means both calcium and phosphate will suffer inn terms of elimination. Also, with reduced vit D activation, both calcium and phosphate will suffer in terms of absorption. So why does literature only mention that phosphate is retained in CKD? I think it should be both hypercalcemia …

Due to SFN advertising policy I'm not allowed to list my company but I would greatly appreciate your thoughts and criticisms. ______ is a mobile phone application that allows users to participate in medical studies regardless of proximity to lab or site. Think Yale's epic (a program that allows bulk data review under 1 single electronic health record format of millions of records for other research programs to use) except we farm the data through our mobile phone app directly from users and their primary care physician through diagnostics while not leaving them out of the financial benefits from data sales giving them more incentives to produce further data, still k…

Any relation ??

  25. "In 2010, Williams et al. published a breakthrough real-time study demonstrating marked lateral displacement of the temporal bones in MS patients during bruxism (Ref). Using a pulse phase locked loop (PPLL) device, MS patients were found to have a bilateral temporal bone displacement six times greater than healthy controls during a sustained clenching force of 100 pounds of pressure. It was hypothesized that reduced bone density in MS patients can increase the displacement along the cranial sutures, possibly allowing skull bone deflection to create damaging pressure waves." You can read more about it here: www.houseofenoch.com/diseases/multiple-sclerosis/
