    My high school physics teacher says that, when Newton invented the laws of universal gravitation, he devised a constant to be implemented when considering the gravitational relationship between two spacial bodies. According to my teacher, it was using this constant that was used to "find" the supermassive black hole in the center of the galaxy (by studying the behavior of the stars around it). He says that this constant's unit is kg^2/m^2 (kilgrams squared per meters squared); however, that's as far as his knowledge goes.   2. I'm attempting to understand their difference, and their relationship. The Electomagnetic Specturm ranges from Gamma Waves to Long Wave Radio waves, and everything in between. Electromagnets and other kinds of electronic equipment and power lines give off electromagentic fields. My question is, are the electromagnetic fields emanating from electronic equipment and other electromagnetic sources, part of the Electromagnetic Specturm? If so, what portion are they in? If not, what is their relationship?

  4. Here's one that has been bugging me for a while now: In my tiny country (that nice little swamp at the end of the river Rhine) the winter months are crap. Usually above zero degrees (Celcius) and wet. The air humidity is generally at 90% or so. Why does wet air feel so cold? In fact, it feels less cold when it is -1 degrees, because the air is generally a lot dryer... is it me or is that tiny fraction of water really responsible for a major difference in heat transfer?     Im not too sure how to word this so hang with me Well, my year. 8 science teacher is not the brightest bulb in the box, but he absouloutly stumped me with a question today; "Why is gravity there?". Is there even an answer for this? If I dont get a good answer by monday I have a lunch time clean up (long story). Am I crazy or is that an impossible task to set (especially for an 8th grader).

    I have been reading a few rather dodgy threads pertaining to gravity. A question not related to those threads but induced by them occurs to me. Firstly assume you have a hollow space and are not being crushed or burnt to a crisp at the centre of the earth, the sun, or even a black hole Assuming the above, would a gravitional force be felt. Would you feel any gravity at the dead centre of the earth, the sun, or a black hole? My reasoning being there is a equal amount of mass in all directions from the centre of any mass and gravity would pull equally in all directions producing weightlessness perhaps inside your hollow space.

    In electricity, I often see + symbols and - symbols, positive and negative, I often have touched two positives together on a low voltage system, meaning a battery, to see sparks! Is it a correct assumption that two equal polarities can not touch and force each other apart? Does the Sun emit electrical energy? Does the Earth emit electrical energy? Does a positive attract a negative when talking about electrical energy?
