Wow, I did not expect that my thread will generate a heated debate. Honestly, I expected a handful of replies at most.

And most of them have nothing to do with the topic of the thread.

No doubt there are self-motivated, libidinous, exhibitionist young persons, but I would guess they are outliers. Most likely, many are deceived with promises of jobs unrelated to the sex industry. Maxwell lured Virginia Roberts with the promise of training to be a peripatetic masseuse. Maxwell probably impressed her with signs of Epstein's wealth, and she was reeled in.

...and she later remained in an intimate relationship with them together for years, and later (at age 19) took money to become the mother of Epstein's child... by all means, it doesn't look like being a victim..

I read she was pressured by Maxwell and him to get pregnant, but didn't and escaped when she was in Thailand. She could have taken money up to that point, then stopped. She said he lost interest in her once she reached about 18. No surprise there

From her Netflix interview (said by her): Epstein wanted a child, so they asked her to become a mother. She was 19 years old then in 2002. She agreed. But she wanted to become a certified professional masseuse (what an idiotic idea?!). Epstein paid for her flights to Thailand, for her upkeep in there, and the school she attended (where she met her future husband). Paying for her trip was part of her deal with Epstein to have this baby for them.

There is nothing like that in her interview.

She called Epstein and said that she fallen in love, got married, and was moving permanently. A shocked Epstein hung up (and he cut her off from her source of income).

In your expert opinion, or some expert resource you can point to?

In my non-expert view, it sounds like it could very well be the result of trauma bonding.

Especially considering how early the abuse started, and from the father, no less.

Incidentally, this part of the discussion actually highlights why victims of abuse frequently do not report abuse to authorities. They have to be near perfect before being taken seriously. Any other behaviour will be as evidence that the abuse was not real. That is why abusers frequently target kids from difficult backgrounds.
