Well thanks, but not the best argument/rebuttal.

It wasn't meant to be. If the point I missed is that you have arrogated the authority, by virtue of aesthetic preference, to rewrite the creation myth of a long-dead culture, then there is no possible rebuttal/argument.

I think the most coherent and relevant passage in the bible is 'The sermon on the mount', if you read it and imagine the lesson is meant to be contentment; IOW if I'm content with my existence before I reach heaven, then why do I need a God?

Don't forget the Monty Python version, which is sermon on the mount + noise.

Blessed be the cheesemakers.

And why not?

I don't think it's a surprise they chose it for their film, it neatly sums up the bible and is exactly why the film isn't blasphemy; Jesus would have pissed himself, laughing.

The point you've missed is, I understand the lessons of that culture, by applying that teaching to my culture; does that make me arrogant, maybe but only if you can provide a better explanation and I ignore it, but no more arrogant than a doctor prescribing your medicine...

When Jesus 'ghost wrote' the NT he said he understood the OT not that he lived 2,000+ years ago.

Stop using God as an excuse to berate what you don't understand, it's ironic that god is your bias...

No wonder we have no more women on this forum.
Everyone is less puerile when women are present.
( always wanted to use the word 'puerile' )

No kidding!

Wow! I've been away for a few months and I can't believe the response from from everyone because "we2 flashed the wifes boobs on this thread. Arguments were made about hypocritical Christians and about the things that went on in the OT, the Christians were right to point out that you can't use those arguments because it was a different world 2,000 years ago with outdated values that worked for them and don't work for us now in the present. So the Christians have won the argument because they accept that were nudity was frowned upon 2,000 years ago and now it's OK because they have evolved and cannot be compared to the god fearing men of the past, did I get it right?

Please keep in mind that most of us come to SFn for reasoned discussion relating to science.
If I was looking for 'titillation' and wives boobs, I would visit PornHub.
I don't expect that kind of content here.

Not so far as I am aware. And, from the sound of things, I don't think they would have been very inspiring boobs if they had been.

Not inspiring?! Did you see them doing the hokey-pokey?!

Back there, page 1, pics were posted but not of actual boobs.  Though said pics were posted by boobs.  (yours truly among them)

Now it all seems like a distant mammary.
