  1. "Is the earth really our planet"? Yes, unlike microbe's or fish (or dolphins) we do get to decide it's future, at least in part; it won't be forevermore, but we do get to decide the time scale of our existence.
  2. I think pride is muddying the water's here, humility-vs-arrogance is more relevant. It's easier to see the virtue of being humble, when faced with a 'white van man'. But as Phi eluded too it's also easy to seek revenge on such people, rather than trying enlighten them to the benifit's of accepting one's limitation's; humility does not equal humiliation. Humiliation often leads to vengeful retaliation, rather than understanding.
  3. Domestos has a pretty good say in the war of the world's It's a bitter sweet symphony...
  4. MEH, bury them don't bury them, the buzzards gotta eat as well as the worms; but who doesn't like a BBQ???
  5. It all point's to a dolphin influencer...
  6. Didn't the creator design life to be lived and death to furtilise or be recycled into more life? So, in seeking to preserve the dead, you've perverted the creator's plan; such dirty language... I understand that people are more important than a dog, and some people are more important than other people; but no-one is important enough to not fear the reaper.
  7. No shit Sherlock, now please explain why/how dead people's remains (even the great one's) can provide more information, than what is already understood about their lives? And your answer can not be, because they leave their bodies to science... For obvious reason's.

  11. Can I play?
  12. I don't know, can you avoid being biased?
  13. I think the same was true of Buddha and what's also (probably) true is, those who were taught well enough to achieve enlightenment/understanding went on to add too the wisdom. But as I said, prophet's are rare, and only they can break the convention. Here's a thought of a friend of mine: And I think a fixed resilient language is key, as I think the prophet Muhammad recognised, in the way the he sought to freeze the language of the Quran.
  14. No, religion is just the culture within which the politicians ply their trade.
  15. I only feel sorry for those who aren't content with what they find.
  16. In a very real sense, my only legitimacy exists in your eye's; an ism just seeks to blind us.
  17. A stick in a termite mound, kept them alive... 😉 Causality suggests you're talking bollox...
  18. Why would dead people improve the present plan? Unless we need lots of bones to feed the dogs plan...
  19. What is true for you, is not true for me. Some people need a god/ist to explain and some need a physicist; it all boils down too, whatever floats your boat; the point of the thread is, we don't need to sink their boat in order to aid the buoyancy of ours.
  20. Then the wise choice is, enjoy the warmth before it gets too much; that's the point of the book's. It means that this: shows that you don't understand your knowledge of people, or your ancestors; have a little respect...
  21. What does a particle actually look like? Imagine a stone that's much smaller than a mountain?
  22. Why? And how to be happy (wrong word) with that.
