You have to wipe away your biases, in order to see clearly; it's how philosophy and science works. Imagine you're dependent on a handout, to eat a loaf of bread; your bias would see people like you as the enemy. But your a hard working person and you can, just about, afford to stuff your loaf with baloney; your bias should see the foie gras eating boss as the enemy, not because they're eating better than you (they're not) but because they're willing to stuff a duck with more than it can eat, while watching people like us struggle to eat enough, and between mouthfuls persuading people like you too see the dependents as the enemy.
