An eye for an eye is the sort of thing that his books explores; for instance, you can't declare a jihad to be the greater good; even if you are incompetent...

The Real World and Politics/politicians.
It's positively Socratian, we vote for the noisy to keep the quiet from making a noise; the problem is, in a democracy every vote should count, we're not in a democracy. For instance, the average person on the street isn't qualified to be a judge in a court of law, but enough average people with professional/impartial guidance, are above average in coming to the correct conclusion.

The 10,000 hour rule? This is strange when looking at the math
I spent 20 year's as a paint sprayer with none of those, but I was still considered a master paint sprayer; the problem with the OP is, it conflates a skill with understanding, you can spend a lifetime spraying car's and never understand why the paint sticks...

It's my duty to battle the Left (split from War Games: Russia Takes Ukraine, China Takes Taiwan. US Response?}
Utter drivel, congratulations you've managed to misunderstand a simple children's story, the right track is, "The yellow brick road"... 😉 If you were a real man, you'd be blaming this logic on a woman...

Agreed, it's time we stopped feeding you...

What would happen if you couldn't spend your money on the bread that you need? Who would you blame?

Seems to me like it's part of the negotiation, we all know that they intend to aquire Taiwan and probably will; the only variable is the price they're willing to pay.- It's my duty to battle the Left (split from War Games: Russia Takes Ukraine, China Takes Taiwan. US Response?}
Indeed, but I assumed he wasn't ready for an extra complication, Scooby is difficult to understand...- It's my duty to battle the Left (split from War Games: Russia Takes Ukraine, China Takes Taiwan. US Response?}
That depends on how many workers the state looses; try and imagine a world with no sewage workers or bin men or farmer's; sometimes the arsole is the most important part of the body and sometimes it just spouts shit... 😉- Philosophy II
How would I do that? It wasn't an accusation, it was an observation, that I'm happy to accept is wrong, when you present a reasonable argument. Why? The difference between us is, I hope you're right and you want to win.- Knowledge overconfidence is associated with anti-consensus views on controversial scientific issues
Indeed, you're preaching to the converted; as a disciple of science worshipping at the alter of TV, I was fooled into thinking I understood physics; my point is the disconnect of the recording/book without an appropriate teacher to explain why Brian Cox is fundamentally wrong, because most of the language of math, is not translatable into English. SFN is the perfect forum to teach the most people through thread's like this, unfortunately not everyone can accept being wrong; there's bound to be some chaff.- Philosophy II
Contractiction has two sides, not necessarily true of an argument; as this sketch neatly explains... No thanks, I know my meaning of life; I remain in the hope that I can convey my understanding to you, because it's a very peaceful place... 🙏 😇 😉- Knowledge overconfidence is associated with anti-consensus views on controversial scientific issues
Strikes me as a double edged sword "we know this to be true" is assuming that your teaching will always be true...- It's my duty to battle the Left (split from War Games: Russia Takes Ukraine, China Takes Taiwan. US Response?}
I'd be laughing my arse off, if he's an outlier; but you're welcome to share my bunker...- It's my duty to battle the Left (split from War Games: Russia Takes Ukraine, China Takes Taiwan. US Response?}
What planet do you come from? Classic planet Eton, so full of irony that they don't even need binmen...- Philosophy II
I have, literally, never said that... I feel like we're on a roundabout, I have, literally, said that it can originate from an external source, the meaning of which, is up to you; for instance, the bible is meaningless, if you can't read it. And you're assuming you have a legitimate argument.- It's my duty to battle the Left (split from War Games: Russia Takes Ukraine, China Takes Taiwan. US Response?}
You have to wipe away your biases, in order to see clearly; it's how philosophy and science works. Imagine you're dependent on a handout, to eat a loaf of bread; your bias would see people like you as the enemy. But your a hard working person and you can, just about, afford to stuff your loaf with baloney; your bias should see the foie gras eating boss as the enemy, not because they're eating better than you (they're not) but because they're willing to stuff a duck with more than it can eat, while watching people like us struggle to eat enough, and between mouthfuls persuading people like you too see the dependents as the enemy. Are you really that gullible? - War Games: Russia Takes Ukraine, China Takes Taiwan. US Response?
