  1. Perhaps think of electricity like flowing water. In a wire the current is the electrons moving in a given direction. In a river the current is the water moving in a given direction. In a wire the battery or other power source provides the energy to move the electrons in a circuit. In a river, gravity provides the energy to move the water through its channel.
  2. Either they are going to be unable to fight the fire, or they will have a second fire to fight.
  3. As long as I'm unique. Just like everyone else... 😆
  4. Outstanding! Turns out that I am a singularity!
  5. Don't take the description of what you said as a WAG personally. If you hypothesize something without any data/math/model it is a WAG. Saying something is a WAG is not ridiculing you. I've made WAGs many times because I've had nothing better to go on and I had to move forward.
  6. I love how the early 60's radicals grew the long hair... but still felt obliged to wear a suit and tie. Why do I get the feeling you'd be hard pressed to name a few Aussies who you have NOT had a few beers with? 😁
  7. Has anyone at all suggested it is a meteorite other than you? Even after the analysis?
  8. You make it sound as if bad planning was involved, when in fact NO planning was involved. Evolution starts with what exists, it doesn't say "since I'm about to develop big brains I want a 'do-over' on the pelvic width developed so we don't run into any birthing issues due to larger heads." Since there was no 'plan' for human development we have to accept that many body parts and functions are not a good fit with other body parts and functions.
  9. This is a very interesting topic. Here's some additional information on the violins. https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2017/05/08/527057108/is-a-stradivarius-violin-easier-to-hear-science-says-nope
  10. Can you rephrase that question? No one will be able to confirm the logic of something that is illogical.
  11. I think every LED I've had that has failed, has flickered or gone off for short durations for weeks or months before failure. Given the rate of failure I suspect that while they are long lasting, I'll never have one that meets its offered lifetime.
  12. Since you are not just making things up can you please provide a link that explains "spacetime sails"? I'm unable to find anything or how they tie into the strong and weak force. Can you please provide a citation for this? How many things can be stored in light memory? Citation please?
  13. It sounds like you are making things up rather than trying to grasp known science.
  14. All you are doing is spinning some fantasy that you are trying to get to logically hold together. It may be good fodder for a novel but it has nothing to do with science.
  15. Thanks iNow! It is not attached to the back wall and is fully supported by the A-frame. Since it is for adults it is made almost entirely of 2x6s and 3/4" birch plywood. Needless to say it weighs a ton. I couldn't get any rocking going when pushing from the side. My son is now talking about framing in the inside of the "A" so that his young daughter can climb too when she gets a bit stronger. A vertical wall will make it much easier for her. Thanks studiot! That's a great idea about making it adjustable. Since it is bolted everywhere I could just add more bolt holes in the rakers. Then to adjust just pull the bolt, change wall pitch, and put bolt in new hole. I love changes that are easy to implement. 😁
  16. Built a climbing wall with my son this weekend. For him not me. If it was for me it would be called a "falling" wall. 😁 Designed it in three sections which are bolted together so that it can be disassembled when they decide to move.
  17. I don't even own a dog.
  18. Long time no see tar! Welcome back! 😁
  19. No one who was not involved in the creation of the video would know. For all we know there could be some guy beneath the pipe pushing it up. It might not be water that is boiling. There may be some chamber beneath the pipe. It may not be water ice that is coming out. Need more data...
  20. Super job! I love seeing old furniture made new again! 😃
  21. I thought that question was settled. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_on_Mars
  22. Not everyone commits suicide due to temporary problems. Incurable painful diseases are not a temporary problem.
  23. Yeah, that's the point I didn't realize. I naively assumed it was like throwing more wood on top of a fire.
