  1. I am wondering if a Gyroscope if built as tall as Mount Everest and also is able to be spun like a small Gyroscope can, will it function the same as a small Gyroscope will it balance in the air like a Gyroscope? What happens if you keep building it bigger and bigger?

  7. We did an experiment in Lab with a Pascal Timer and a Free Fall device with one small sphere and one larger. I was wondering how mass could influence the results calculated using the accepted value of Earths acceleration in our area. Would the mass of the spheres affect the acceleration? I know that all of this has to do with Newton's second law. I just need help understanding this.

    Ok so I remember asking this a while back in speculation, however, I never got a response so I am posting it here because the reason why I posted in speculation was that I did not think it was fully physics related. So my question is again, are our models of reality based on probability because we cannot observe the universe at certain scales due the things that we need to observe messing up measurements like light and atom particles. Or is it the other way around? Being that we cannot observe things at such small scales because of the probability and uncertainty of the universe as a whole?

    Hello everyone! Hope this isn't a silly question, or misplaced, but this is my first post, so please excuse me! Say you are compressing two spheres. The only difference between them being their volume. Would one (ideally, at least) expect the force required to compress the material to have a linear relationship with the volume?     I have a question, does air molecules move the same way water molecules do. So I vape and when I exhale I watch how the concentration of the vape cloud moves. I feel like it moves the exact same way the water molecules move if you dyed water and pour it into a clear thing of water.

  21. I understand it has been said that light does not require a medium to propagate . However I have also come across the idea that it propagates as a disturbance in the em field. Are these two interpretations complimentary or is there any contradiction between them ?(apart from possibly semantic) Can the em field be condsdered a medium of any kind or is it simply an ordered set of measurements?

    So a object gains mass when in motion, and the gravitational pull of a object is based on its mass.....so I am curious as to how fast must we spin a solid metal disk (say it weight is 500 pounds) before its mass increases enough to a point in which its gravitational pull matches the earths pull of gravity perfectly? I am imagining this disk being stationed above a room, in theory, if we can spin it fast enough, then it should be possible for its gravity to cancel out earths gravity, thus, we would just float around in the space between the earth and this disk. so how fast does a 500 pound disk needs to spin to do this?....I am pretty sure its impossible to spin a disk fa…

  23. Suppose one creates artificial gravity in a rotating space craft, is it possible to show that geometry aboard the craft has been curved? For instance if there were different decks representing different gravity levels and students (on different decks) were to be doing regular (Euclidean) geometry lessons on graph paper with gridlines that they had made themselves, would the otherwise identical drawings appear the same when they were compared side by side at a later date? Would it be possible to say ,by looking at the drawings on which deck the drawings had been made? Or would perhaps the drawings need to be animated for this to be possible?
