Hey, I'm doing a assignment for school and the question is "does the density of a liquid affect refraction" Im using a glass jar with various liquids and a laser point as the light although no matter what liquid i use the light stays straight all the way thru and out the otherside. Am i doing something wrong or does the density not affect refraction

Okay so i just read an interesting article on a new superconductor that acts as an insulator, superconductor, metal and magnet aswell as having a very low critical temprature. Now i started investigating exactly what this means, its all very counter intuitive. Im presuming these properties exist in different conditions. The article got me reading into these various properties and i eventually got confused with some of the basic stuff. For example if a super conductor has no resistence at all then ohms law no longer works? Its also got me confused as to the exact nature of volts and amps as i interpreted them. You know, if you throw balls (upwards) while on a moving platform, which I did; the platform had no walls or any of the sort and the ball simply moves away from me landed on the ground. I presume this was because of the wind, I am not so sure... Now, I did this same test while I was inside a bullet train, and, of course the train had walls and roofs so there was no wind, and the ball simply landed on the palm of my hand. Please explain, is wind resistance the sole reason why the ball was being carried away as I threw it up? I mean, if you'd imagine. should the ball be displaced in air as I threw it up without the required force to bring it back to my palm? …

So here I am just a regular kid wondering in the realms of physics. Yes, nuclear bombs, TNT, whatever it is - products that explode produce such a substantial amount of force. Nuclear bombs when in effect produce so much force it could level an island, it is utterly devastating. However I want to bend the realm of physics a bit. Assume, just, assume we humans have the capability to generate the force equivalent to that of a nuclear bomb in a single punch/jab. What would happen? Will there be explosions like we see in nuclear bombs and TNT's? Please dear people of science forums, enlighten me. Thanks .

This might sounds weird, but I'm planning to carry or stitch some battery-powered PC case fans inside my jacket to fight the heat outdoor. I live in Indonesia and the air humidity level is always high for most part of the country, and it makes outdoor activities almost impossible to enjoy, except for the first quarter of the day and the evening, or during cloudy days. My question is, should I set the fans as exhaust, intake, or exhaust-intake setup? And should the exhaust points upward or downward? Thanks.

So sounds crazy but disregarding the different nature of thoose 2 kinds of waves , what would happen when they are propagating in the same medium. From quantum mechanical prespective for instance do the two wavefunctions interact each other someway. What would be the result . Or let me simplify my question . What is going to be if you talk to an antenna since it carries some EM radio waves and you add it your acoustic vibrations ?

Have a quick question about FAIMS. Have a friend working on ion spectroscopy but there was one thing we couldn't figure out. In some devices the drift gas to oppose the direction of the ions, while other designs have the drift gas from the same direction as the ions. We can't figure what difference this would make to the analysis, or why one is used in preference to the other. Any pointers or help greatly appreciated.
