Having just seen a programme about British TV's "The Big Read" where people nominate the 100 best books of all time, I wondered what you all read. I have very wide ranging tastes from Dickens to Stephen King, Jane Austen to Tolkein, Terry Pratchett to Dorothy Dunnett. What do you all like? i would find it impossible to pick one best ever book - what about A.A. Milne's Winnie -the - Pooh, Roald Dahl's Matilda, the list is absolutely endless. I also love the "Dune" series by Frank Herbert. May I hear your thoughts?

I hate sorcerynet. Anyone have any suggestions on good (reliable) networks? I was thinking about EFNet, but that requires an eggdrop, which my host will not host. DALnet is pretty good, but not as reliable recently. Any suggestions?

Hey!! I'm going to moan now. Whenever I go to the chat room there are a few stalwarts (and I DO appreciate the time difference guys) but hardly anyone ever chats. Except Blike and very occasionally Fafalone and Dawid (Ryoken - am I right?) , sometimes davem. Please make an old woman very happy and stop by occasionally to say a few words. I'm so chuffed that I actually can GET INTO a chat room that my enthusiasm knows no bounds. By the way - do you think that Doc Bill REALLY could have gotten all those famous people to chat - personally I doubt it. I LIKE all of you and I like to talk so go on - make my day. Hi New to the forums and could use some help. Firstly let me say that I visit these forums 5 days a week (Im a junior in high school) because I think the ideas discussed here are great reading. I havent registered though because Ive never really been able to contribute to a conversation. Very plainly Im not as knowledgeable about the things discussed here as most of you are. Since I sense there are a lot of younger adults on this forum, may I ask a question? My teenage son and daughter seem to believe that me and their father are morons who are hell bent on spoiling their fun? What could I say to them to let them know that a) our heads do NOT zip up the back and b) we are only concerned for their welfare? I know this is boring but they think the world has changed immeasurably from the time we were young and clearly this is not the case in some areas. What would make you listen to your parents? Any guidance gratefully received. Particularly in the area of driving your car too fast.

Before anyone say's it, I know IQ tests are subjective assessments of intelligence. However, it's still fun to take part. Last year I took it with a hangover, just to find out how much your IQ drops the day after drinking. As you all may no, i have recently been under scrutiny from the monitors of this site. I have tried to do nothing more than bring soem comedy and humour to this site, give it a new aspect if you will. And in return i have recieved nothing but HUMILIATION and DISBARMENT. Has anyone seen this film yet? Personally I thought the effects on it were pretty damn nice, although the story left much to be desired. Apart from that, it wasn't too bad.
