Just a bit of fun really, but a valid and perplexing question! why is belly button fluff always Blue? it doesn`t seem to matter what you wear red black white whatever, it`s always a grey blue color? almost the same color as the lint filter in a tumble dryer. secondly, how come women don`t seem to have this problem with getting BB fluff in the 1`st place?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/3432735.stm It looks like Europe is going to fine Microsoft alot of money (no doubt because the European economy needs it, and all that money would be much appreciated by them freeloading french farmers, but hey.. I'm a cynic) The thing I wonder though, is that they comment on competition from people like apple and Real Networks... but hld on, who the hell actually wants RealPlayer? I am no big fan of mocrosoft at the best of times, but RealPlayer is EVIL.

I was thinking of my favorite sci films....Planet of the Apes, Fantastic Voyage, The Andromeda Strain, Silent Running and of course that all time knock out Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey. I remember seeing it for the first time, and what a mind blower. The symbolism is rampant and as Kubrick himself said open to many interperations. Among some of the symbolic interpertations. 1. Homer's Odyssey parallel. The Computer HAL is the one eyed cyclops. 2. The Monolith is touched first by the naked hand of the ape, then the gloved hand of Heywood and finally by the mind of Bowman at the end of the film. 3. Hal only has one red eye (sees things in only …

What are the average IQ's of Physics, Chemistry and Biology B.S-M.S-Ph.D's? Can IQ measure intelligence? What is the meaning of an IQ score? How can it be explained that the IQ of Richard Feynman (Greatest scientific mind since WW2) is 'only' around 125, below Madonna (142)?

My parents have made the choice to home school me, since I am having a horrid time in Somerville High School, and feel that I could work a lot more decisively in the constraints of a home enviorment. However, I also need social activities, apart from my friends, so qoutes my dear mother. So is thier any way I could actually get into a lab of some sort to observe? I dont know a terrific sum of information, which mainly pertains to Biology, but I feel it would be incredibly helpful to be in that enviorment. Does anyone know of any institutes or such facilities with labs which may be willing to allow observation on my part? I reside in Central New Jeresy, if that aids in rep…

In Canada, Vancouver in particular, there is a plight in which available hospital beds are becoming spread thinner and thinner. My idea was, eliminate all of the useless government jobs, such as the middle floor beurocrats, and put that money into the ailing health care system. Good call eh? Hard solution to come by. This situation is avoidable and there is plenty of money still being sucked into the proverbial black void. Why doesn't the government actually work to improve the country and streamline the system?

Though this is not technically my first post, I thought I'd introduce myself to you all. I'm currently a sophomore biochemistry & molecular biology major at a small liberal arts college in Virginia. I love science, and hope to someday teach chemistry at the undergraduate/graduate level and research. I work and research in the environmental science department of my college, and fence sabre. See you all around!

http://www.geocities.com/ptypes/temperament_test.html I came out as a rationalist. "Rationalists want to understand and gain power over nature, to understand, control, predict, and explain realities, to be seen as competent, to have, most of all, competencies, capabilities, abilities, capacities, skills, and ingenuity, to be able to do things well under varying circumstances, to constantly improve, to be free from errors, to increase their store of knowledge, to learn as much as they can, to rearrange the environment, either through constructing physical edifices or building institutional systems, to speculate about the possible motivations and thoughts of those …
