Speculations Forum Rules

The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:

  1. Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
  2. Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
  3. Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.

The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

There is a theory opposing the "Green Monkey" theory. That AIDS was man made, crossing Bovine Lukemia with Sheep Visna Virus, and was used to wipe out the Black race. What do you make of this?

Hello all. Last Summer break I started writing an essay on alchemy, and never finished it. I may complete it this Summer. Feel free to have a read of what I have so far. I think you need MS Word to view the footnotes. http://bad-sports.com/~archive/alchemy.doc

http://www.scienceforums.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=50 What I posted on the Origins Poll. I would quite like to discuss some of these ideas, so I created this thread as I think it was better off in here. Any comments or questions on the above theory? Please don't flame me for being uncultured and undereducated

When I was studying vedic sciences I was given a Mantra for my meditations that works incredibly well for me. It is the only one that does and it is for beginners. My life is like a well with tons of crap thrown in but the Mantra takes me down below the crap to the clear water. After fifteen minutes I come back the best that I can be. I've been practicing for almost thirty years, no cults or religious dogma connections. Just the meditations. Is this just a psychological trick or is it actually resetting the brain to perform correctly:flame: Subjectively I vote for reset Just aman:scratch:

Mystery street blobs spark concern CNN August 2, 2002 Posted: 3:25 AM EDT (0725 GMT) CAMDEN, New Jersey (AP) -- There's something strange underfoot in Camden. Black blobs polka-dotting the streets and sidewalks of the Waterfront South area have some residents fearful for their health and worried the blobs might signal the end of their neighborhood. The Department of Environmental Protection doesn't know what it is. Neither does the Camden County Health Department. The spots morph over a few days, Sanders explained. The fresh ones look like small oil spills -- most of them round, most of them about 6 inches across. Though they look like liquid, they don…

I found this pretty neat. A couple moved into an old house and after a couple of months they heard strange noises and saw apparitions. They researched the house and found it had been owned by a civil war widow. Her husband went off to war and never returned. Legend has it that she sat at a table and stared out the window hoping he would return he never came back and years later she passed away in the house still grieving. They caught a photo of what they claim to be her. This one was kinda spooky once you find it, but when you do it just stands out. Like one of those optical illusions. To save you time, concentrate around the table and window. Best not to focus o…

Why isn't there a mod assigned to this forum? We could have a fight to the death to determine who gets to rule it with an iron fist - winner takes all. In keeping with the theme of the forum all of the following would be allowed in the arena: Magic High technology Knowledge of the future Transdimensional shifting Metamorphosis Unexpected evolution Cannibalism

http://hometown.aol.com/MetPhys/20bodeslaw.html If you knock off a mere seven days from the commonly thought value for Pluto?s orbit around the Sun of 90,727 days, you get 90,720 days. Chatelain explains that since we haven?t observed an entire orbit of Pluto yet with modern instruments, this is a perfectly excusable margin of error. When you divide this round number into the Nineveh Constant of 19.5 x 1010 or 2,268 million days, you get - are you ready? - 25,000. Yes, it is true! The Great Solar Cycle is very close to being 25,000 of Earth?s years in length, and the Nineveh Cycle is exactly 25,000 of Pluto?s years! ....At this point, we must start to serio…

Hi, I am new to here, I have been active on the Australian ABC's Self Serve Science Forum. Dawinian evolution is incorrect. The DNA code has the ability to express the whole of LIFE's (all living organisms are but ONE superorganism) different types of super cells (species). The process that allows this to occur is called symbiogenisis. There is an unfolding developmentalism, that is environment dependant. One super cell modifies (detoxifies) the environment enabling a finer DNA rendition that is expressable to exist. In this way LIFE has infected a planet such as Venus and modified it's environment into such as is found on Earth. Life manufactured water a…

Currently there is a film of petroleum oil covering all the surface waters and seas and oceans of the world. This was first noted by micro layer marine biologists in the 1930's. This layer has been analysed as comming from petroleum products. The layer of oil is reducing water evaporation, decreasinf rain fall and leading to massive droughts. Ultimately there will be a heating up phase leading to a melt down of the polar ice caps. This will release large amounts of fresh water onto the surface of the sea, resulting in massive evaporation induced cloud cover. An Ice Age will be the end result.

Stoic Philosophy for LIFE I believe LIFE is one entity Comprised of individual conscious life forms Consciously differentiated, equal and benevolent I believe in innate imperatives That are biologically interpreted Aligning each life form to the Creator's design I believe in perennial LIFE Realisable through biochemical purity For the glory of the Creation WHAT IS A STOIC A Stoic knows that:- The creation and organisation of all, is at the least, as rational as a sane person. LIFE is one organism and all life forms are but cells of this one organism. Opinion is as the Universe, ever changing. Evil and good are just that,…
