Life at its simplest remove is essentially the storage of energy. This storing (a process) does not come free; Life has to use energy to store energy. This extra comes from the environment. Life is an ongoing balance between using stored energy to find more of it, but there's no free lunch.

Is it possible to make environments in which lifespan of particles change? I mean if you could make one that could expand a pion lifetime would that open up new ways of research? I mean just from one imaginary point of view if you will what would a mass of pion act like if you could interact with it in a variety of ways.

I'm sure many of you know of the film The secret. There was little science in the video which would lead even mildly sceptical people to pass it off as rubbish. Briefly, it says that through the power of human emotion and thought we can bring about what ever we want in our lives no matter how big or small it is. They say in the video that this "law of attraction" is strongly linked with quantum physics. I don't quite understand the link below but I think many of you would. I am taking a college course in yoga to meet the Physical Education requirement for my degree in Computer Science. My yoga teacher emphasizes a lot on spiritual beliefs and often teaches them as fact. She teaches a lot about spirits and the "astral plane" but never provides scientific evidence to support these lessons. This will be very quick, but I would be interested to see what those here can come up with... it is more of a brain game for the cosmologically inclined (ie. how could you test this crackpot theory? ): What if the Brane and Big Bang theories actually can coexist? Is ATP use on its own a factor in evolution. To what extent I mean is by use of ATP do biochemical pathways and interactions chiefly carry from. Giving the idea of epistatis and norm or reaction is the use of ATP dynamic in consequence of overall species metabolism in relation to the environment. I can think of some ways that such might be tested for but I was wondering if someone has already come across such research also before I do speculate.

Ok, this was an idea I came up with one day while being sick. If you were to put a mechanical/chemical object down in say a body of water, say 100 feet down. Say you had it explode releasing a fine mesh of carbon nanotubes(I added the tubes recently) holding together a hydrophobic gel.
