Speculations

Pseudoscientific or speculatory threads belong here.

Speculations Forum Rules

The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:

  1. Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
  2. Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
  3. Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.

The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

I was discussing the concept of drilling in space with some people and though I describe it as a "bone marrow sample" of the planets, others didn't seem to agree that it should be done. I was wondering what anyone here thought about that.

Gravity theory ruls. 1/ All neutrinos have a very slight reaction with all matter they pass through giving the matter a tiny push or pull in the direction the neutrino is traveling. This reaction is proportional to the mass of the matter. The greater the mass the bigger the reaction. 2/All neutrinos are very slightly weakened by this reaction with matter.Again the greater the mass of matter the more energy lost by neutrino. Example. I you have one solitary fe atom in deep space not close to any stars this atom will be bombarded by a vast quantity of neutrinos from all directions. They will effectively cancel out the push pull effect. I you have two…

Here's another shape that it can be in. Imagine a cube, of finite size, but mathematically 'connect' each face to its direct opposite. And it increases in size with time too. If you lived inside it and you went up through the top you would return through the bottom. It's a very interesting space, for translations it is perfectly symmetrical, but it is different in different directions, it has no less that seven different axis, three for the sides and four for the corner to opposite corner axis. Just what you need to represent certain aspects of physics.

  6. Reconciling Karmic Theory - the Karmic Equation The law of karma is the ultimate controlling force of the universe. · All matter is governed by the law of karma. · All matter is derived from energy. · All forms of Energy are governed by the laws of physics. · The law of Karma must therefore conform to the laws of physics. · The laws of Physics do not segregate forms of energy into 'Good' energy and 'Evil' energy. · Thus Karma cannot recognize 'good' actions or 'evil' actions. Karma simply recognises and records actions. · Karma is the Accountant of the Universe, it does not judge, it simply keeps accurate records of the actions of all matter of the universe…

There are 2 ways of passing beyond the domain of practical certainty, and of looking into the vast range of possibility. One is by asking, 1. "What is knowledge? 2. What constitutes experience?" If we adopt this course we are plunged into a sea of speculation. Were it not that the highest faculties of the mind find therein so ample a range, we should return to the solid ground of facts, with simply a feeling of relief at escaping from so great a confusion and contradictoriness. ref" Charles Hinton 19C and his concept of space existing as 4 spatial dimensions. Nothing of time. Stated prior to Minkowski's claim that the 4th dimension was temporal time. Henceforth…

A body in motion distorts space. The faster the motion, the more distortion. This distortion (making the space around it non-Euclidian) is called gravity. All matter in our solar system is travelling at 600 kilometers a second, as part of the Milky Way Galaxy. The cumulative effect of the distortion of space around each particle on earth, say, results in the total gravitational field around the earth. It is not the mass of the earth that causes the gravitational field, it is the motion of that mass.

  16. New poster here, thought this thread belonged here in Speculation. Can someone explain to me if this would or would not work? Basically, use the slingshot effect of planetary bodies to speed up several crafts that are attached to a stationary track in orbit around the earth, to generate power infinitely. Considering that each craft would be sped up to about 20,000 MPH or greater, this could generate a lot of power.

  17. Hello all, Recently,I've been at one forum discussinig the mind/body problem and "hard problem of conciousness".Well, there one one person who claimed that existence of "mirror matter" is the most likely resolution for mind/body problem. But he used the quotation about "mirror photons" proposed by Bob Holdom, here: "According to Bob Holdom, of the University of Toronto, says that photons and mirror photons, (along with other particles and their mirror counterparts) can change into each other through the exchange of a "Holdom force" particle, or H particle. Mirror photons, in theory, can interact with regular photons. However, the mirror photon can not interact with any c…

Internal Lorentz force paradox A current in a magnetic field feels the Lorentz force. For isolated coil, the Lorentz force on a current segment is due to the magnetic field of the coil itself. This force is internal to the coil and its resultant is 0. Let us see the internal force of the coil shown in the Figure 1. This coil is composed of a curved wire part and a straight wire part. According to the Lorentz force law, the magnetic force is always perpendicular to the current, as indicated by the forces Fcurv and Fstr in the Figure 1. The resultant force on the curved part is Rcurv and that on the straight part is Rstr. Rcurv and Rstr are forces internal to the c…

Lets say we witness the twin paradox in real life without any knowledge of relativity. On Earth we see the astronaught twin climb out of his spacecraft considerably younger than his brother and both the clock on the ground and the one in the spaceship show different times. With no knowledge of relativity at all - how does one explain what has happened to a group of laymen onlookers? The only explanation I can think of is that (1) the astronaught has spent his time in space in slow motion (2) the difference in clock times is due to time and reality slowing down on the spaceship. This is fact and reality surely - something that overrides everything else for …

Completely correct. In the reference to speed equation which is a variation of times equation which is a variation of distance. Here is my question what happens if you substitute miles an hour with DEGREE of change? The degree of change would be constant in relation to each other this would allow an equation to be produced that would create absolute time... LIKE _________________________ Time = ((pi)2r/360)({-+}L) -+ ((pi)2r/360)D pi2r = is the equation for circumference points observed based on altitude position of planet/object it resides upon. L = is the total Longitudinal degrees to the shortest distance between the current (NOW) starting positio…

  25. Since the case is one of " to measure" we here deal with a verbal component in "nominal equivocation to" measurement. What unit of measure is that and what is its conversion factor to newtons from metres one might as well say. Is it transposable from newtons to metres? I know metres does convert to yards as it does to feet and inches and to miles with a simple conversion factor. As far as references are concerned for this subject labelled measurement who is the peer review committee but Mr and Mrs General Public. Think for a second how they would react if the big house they paid big bucks for was delivered unto them in nano miles/kilometres when they were expecting yards/…
