The following ref. says neutrinos have 3 types of mass (see timestamp 31:08): Then all particles must have 3 types of mass and theory does not predict this.

I just finished reading the novels for the Halo franchise a little while ago and I was very intrigued about one of the weapons that the humans have developed. They called it the NOVA bomb, and while we aren't told very much about it, it is basically a cluster of fusion warheads encased in some sort of fictional super-strong material that is able to temporarily contain the nuclear explosions, supposedly increasing its thermonuclear yield a hundredfold. Though I can't for the life of me understand how this would have any effect whatsoever on the power of the bomb. All we really know about its properties and effects comes from the following quote: "This is the prototype …

1) We know in case of beta decay if there is excess of protons or neutrons in the nucleus, beta decay take place. Force involved - weak interaction Reason involved - to stabilize, to obtain proton neuton 1:1 ratio in the nucleus. E. g., Beta minus - Carbon 14 transforms into Nitrogen 14 2) Case of Lambda & Sigma - Force involved - weak Reason involved - ? Does anyone know the reason why Lambda Λ0 (uds - quark composition) decays into, p+ + π− or n0 + π0 Also why Sigma Σ+(uss - quark composition) decays into, p+ + π0 or n0 + π+ What mechanism make them go decay under either the set of proton or neutron?…

I am a beginner in QE and I have a question. During I was reading about Output file, I saw a part where have it: "The calculation goes on step by step until convergence is reached. Then we show all the energies of all bands (eigenvalues of the Kohn-Shan orbitals) for each k-point, the Fermi energy, the total energy, the contributions of all the terms to the total energy, and the calculation time used by each subroutine of the program." Output file: ... iteration # 9 ecut= 100.00 Ry beta=0.70 Davidson diagonalization with overlap ethr = 1.00E-13, avg # of iterations = 1.0 negative rho (up, down): 1.151E-06 0.000E+00 total cpu time spent up to …

Is slower than light warp drive possible? Maybe we are passing up a possibility that would open up the solar system without the negative mass required to go faster than light? I couldn't find much on the idea but Sabine Hossenfelder mentions it in this video at about 02:30. https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1361-6382/abdf6e

The Caesium atom was flew around the world and it was claimed there was a time dilation . Isn't the time value a subjective arbitrary add on ? Isn't the objective answer there was a frequency change ?

''In quantum field theory, the Casimir effect is a physical force acting on the macroscopic boundaries of a confined space which arises from the quantum fluctuations of the field. It is named after the Dutch physicist Hendrik Casimir, who predicted the effect for electromagnetic systems in 1948. ''

As cosmic rays pass through humans, plants, and animal bodies is it possible that their cumulative effect of tunneling through DNA, cells, and neurons actually disrupts DNA and neurons at the quantum scale? How much energy and radiation do they impart to biological entities such as humans, plants, and animals? If they do disrupt cells, DNA, and neurons could I suggest that it follows that cosmic rays may have shaped evolution on earth or at least may have caused errors in DNA some of which improved a species' chance of survival? Do they also impact neurons and synapses at a quantum scale therefore impact the way we think?

I read this YouTube comment this morning from user Aural Escape on Anton Petrov's 'Was there something before the big bang' video he released Aug 16th. Got me thinking of ways to see beyond the edge of the visible universe and I thought I might have a way you could in theory cheat and know what galaxies there may be beyond the edge of the visible universe. Imagine a far future where we can travel at or near the speed of light. We travel to the edge of our galaxy or even into Andromeda. There we meet and share information with an ET civilization that has been doing astronomy for X billion years and keeping records all that time. Those ancient records would effe…

Chaos theory has no fine edge does it fluctuate? Intro : Does nature err slightly beyond order into chaos in the context of chaos theory? And I'd like to proffer the idea that the point at which order tips into chaos fluctuates. I'd like to point out that I'm seeking opinions and not proffering tinfoil hat theories. And also I don't have the wealth or inclination or time to study for a Ph.D. or spend weeks researching this. ------------------------------------------------------------ Does nature err slightly beyond order into chaos in the context of chaos theory? Theoretical physicists always proclaim portentously that the singularity at the centre of a black hole "is where our laws of nature break down" which sounds to me like another way of saying "we don't know the answer." But as no physical process is ever absolutely instantaneous (I think,) surely the collapsing matter gets smaller and smaller while slowed down by ever increasing density so it never quite gets to the singularity and the process continues to infinity. Eg if you keep dividing 1 by 2 you'll never get to zero. Cheerz GIAN🙂 (I've no science qualifications beyond gcse maths n physics grade C, so pls be gentle with me.)

I recently accidently discovered a phenomena I can best describe as "Reverse Sonoluminescence". Instead of creating light using sound I've found a way to create sound using light. Not sure if this has already been discovered or researched or what not. Trying to get some more Info on the topic. Anything helps... if anyone is curious to know how I went about this I will gladly share how you could easily reproduce the phenomena yourself at home. However if nobody replies to this I will try my luck with another science forum.

hearing of the possibility of worm holes allowing quick travelling throughout space, if 2 holes were to be entangled in the purpose of using them for such travel, wouldn't they need to be entangled near each other, then one of the them would have to be physically moved at slow speed, to provide a terminus of the other one? This seems like taking a long time to string a comm wire, then once that is completed, near instant signals be sent between them, only with worm holes the physical travels are instantaneous.
