Are you talking about the 'cancel' button? If so, if you choose 'More Reply Options' you will see it there.

Yes I was looking for the "cancel" too. It would be great if it was next to the "Post" button instead of opening the "More Reply Options".

Also the "report" button is terribly close to the "Edit". I'd prefer the "report" somewhere on the left, alone.

You can edit your posts iNow, as before, unless i misunderstand.

Edited; Added for demonstration

I think iNow meant editing for a minute or two after posting without getting the "Edited by StringJunky, Today, 10:48 AM" tag so we can clean up any misspellings or word drops we missed.

OK, I understand. Just about all my posts have an 'edited' tag for just such reasons.

If I edit a quote to highlight parts or reduce it, how do I get the cursor out of the quote box into the reply area. Just clicking on the reply area doesn't move it out?

I've been clicking the 'toggle' icon which then allows me to move the cursor past the [ /quote].

You should be able to hit Enter a couple times to break out.

Yes, that works thanks.

Youtube vids no longer seem to render within the post... Just the URL to launch the video in a new tab/window.

What browser?

Edited; It's not working for me any more how I described earler...same result as you.

This is the code that works extracted from the video I posted. Added red bits to show full code and stop embedded video showing. The last bit is the video ID. Until someone's figured it out you could copy that code up to the second REMOVE THIS and add the video ID on the end.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?(remove this)feature=player_embedded&v=(remove this)1c3AQT_Lex4

Put them together and it works:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=1c3AQT_Lex4

I notice there is a Youtube Embedder function in the Special BBCode dropdown list in the top left corner, next to Font, but I can't get that to work either.

Edited by StringJunky

I think I've got it now;

Right-click on Youtube screen of your chosen video > Click on Copy Embed HTML > Click Special BBCode button (Top left next to Font in the posting menu bar) and choose Youtube Embedder > Right-click and paste the code in the Content box > OK

None of that other stuff changed my result. I just discovered that it was because it was a secure weblink. Changing the https to http fixed it.

Edited by iNow

That's why just copying the link the second time round as is with the https didn't work for me. I've been playing with my settings (as you do) and I must have enforced a secure connection in my settings. Just copying the url onto the page works now. My urls aren't showing https any more so I must have turned it off...somehow!

Is there any user guide for these hidden features?

This is modern software; there's no useful manual. After all, changing how everything works every six months or so is more important than helping people use the features you have.

New sig! Thanks!

grmblmmm.

I need help.

I use now Godzilla Firefox. The monster sends me automatically to spam sites with almost any click, for example opens a new tab with some stupid add when I want to hilight some text in a reply. What have i done for this?

Firefox is normally pretty good for not opening newtabs/windows/popups.. There are options to block popups in (basis my linux version of firefox) edit -> preferences -> content. There are ad-blockers add-ons if you are still in trouble.

Is it possible that you have some malware installed? Malwarebytes is a great anti-malware program that is pretty comprehensive and free for single users

http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Try this as well. It doesn't permanently install on your computer. Double-click its icon > Click Search > It will show a log of everything it finds; click it off > Click Delete and when it's done it will ask to reboot. See if that sorts it. M/Bytes will take a fair while so run this one first...only takes a couple of minutes to run.

Malwarebytes is very good but it deals with malware and this might just be a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) and I don't think it deals with them a PUP is usually downloaded by people who do not read the Terms and Conditions before they download and consequently download extra bundled crap...which is what you may have.

The other one to try is SuperAntispyware. Get the free or portable version.

If these fail, start a thread in Computer forum and we'll look closer...don't want to clutter this thread.
