Wasn't there a wacky post last night about NASA finding fossils on Mars "again"? Supposedly reported in the National Geo.

Just wondering ,was it deleted  or maybe did I see it somewhere else?

I thought Mr dimreepr posted in reply to the effect that it was bs.

Friday night approaching, I sense more posts being deleted/trashed/hidden :P

Has it gone?

Yes.

I reported it.

It had "wixsite" or something like that right after ".com" so it was a self made site by the poster.

Spammers' posts are hidden automatically when they are spam-banned (a special ban-hammer script). And given that this was a) crap, and b) there was a followup by a sockpuppet, the perps were spam-banned.

Most of the time this weapon is used on porn and ads for dietary supplements. If there are links, we're not moving them to the trash and have that link still available.

When we ban someone as a spammer, it not only removes the links, I was told it also sends the spammer's IP address to Invision so other forums using the same software are warned about that particular spammer.

I nuked the members in question because they posted obviously fake news designed to draw attention to a questionable site. You have to stop thinking of them as "wacky" and start thinking of them as "resource thieves". They love it when you get so intrigued.
