  1. I agree time is the deciding factor but at some point a nuke is not just the best option it would be the only option. By the time society decided it's our only option, we've sailed past the event horizon... 😉
  2. OK, let's give em even more fuel and try to control that explosion (every time). Look your missing my point about 'when not how much' if we see it early enough then a very small push is enough to lead us to salvation, but we run into the old 'the effect drops with the square of the distance' (mind fuckery) IOW by the time we can see it from earth all of the 'so called' power of the nukes is but a leaf in the path of a train. Did you know, there's a 22% chance a Tesla will fall out of the sky? You won't care if the nuke land's first...😉
  3. Not if it land's on your head...
  4. Well, just to be clear ICBM's aren't designed to reach escape velocity, they run out of fuel 'wwway' before that, the when is more a matter of, oh shit... 😉
  5. By way of explanation, it's my understanding that a huge number of women go undiagnosed bc they are better at hiding the symptoms, so a study or thinking that's based on a flawed premise is therefore going to have a bias, they address the difference between a male and female brain but they can't address the true nature of autism. I haven't been diagnosed, but I definitely fit most of the symptoms.
  6. When is more important, than how much...
  7. I did, on page one...
  8. It's more a matter of when...
  9. Intercontinental, seems to be a limiting factor when compared to space...
  10. Niether, I'm saying it's not an effective defence, are you suggesting otherwise???
  11. ICBM's aren't designed to explode in space, let alone escape from the gravity well. It's not as simple as nukes are the ultimate destructive power, therefore I'm protected if I unleash them. It's like saying "rat poison, will save humanity"...
  12. If he thinks that then he's obviously biased, I imagine... I've definately got a stalker... 🙄
  13. Indeed, just not sure you understood the significance...
  14. Your assuming I don't want to be clear and dismiss my efforts on that basis, I'm not that clever...
  15. That's kinda machiavellian. But that is the point, why would it?
  16. It's always Richard Feynman for me, he was so excited to explain; it was as contagious as a sneeze.
  17. We need to trust the arbiter of truth, in order to be relaxed about it's output...
  18. So did I then, I guess a couple of people were offended on your behalf; go figure...
  19. No they didn't, there's nothing in historical record's that suggests that idea, while there's plenty of evidence to suggest they thought it was a globe. The map they did have was a social one, how to get along with their fellow's and how to defend against their aggressor etc. the truth of that map is still true today. There's a reason why the death of god scared Neitzche so much and why he spent so much time trying to think of a replacement. My point is, it doesn't matter what the facts are today, bc they will change tomorrow. My apologies @sethoflagos, it was intended as a joke but I was drunk at the time. 🙄
  20. Never bet with more than you can afford to lose... 😉
  21. And we're back to the start FFS... 🙄 If you're a true atheist, then god didn't write anything...
  22. No, but what makes you think that your knowledge is more believable?
  23. How do we know what seeds will bear fruit, If we don't plant them?
  24. Indeed but as far as anyone can tell, the idea of a flat earth is only now/recently believed; does that mean we're getting stupider?
  25. We all seem to be forgeting the context of this discussion, maybe the science of awe can bring some perspective to my position. I'm not saying god is true, but for some people god brings a sense of awe, that other's find on the summit of Everest; and for most it brings a sense of happiness among other thing's: The Power of Sharing Moments of Awe | Psychology Today Fundamentally all I'm saying is, the Quran contains a philosophy that's worth reading even for athiests. I don't, I'm just trying to hold up a mirror to your objections, then maybe you can see for yourself.
