  1. Gaia as a hypothesis, is just another way to personify a force that's beyond our understanding, an ubermench if you will, with a very specific superpower. Other than that, we're definitely talking past each other. That's evolution. That's right... πŸ™„
  2. No it doesn't, Gaia suggests the earth is always in an ideal state for Earth, it's life that has to fit in...
  3. Fear in this case is very much an age related issue, with the banner 'it was better back in the old day's where I felt safe'. The balance is wrong and the pendulum is gathering speed towards the inevitable extreme/zenith, and when the young find out 'they're gonna be pissed'.
  4. It's not about the travel it's about our orientation with in our micro-world's. If you don't wanna listen to it, last fine (my apologies if you're hard of hearing), he does have some interesting points though, he made me sit and ponder... πŸ˜‰
  5. Please don't make me look that up... Again not really, sure if you find peace that way good luck to you, but that wasn't Will's point; one of his explanations he points to the car and examines the point of that travel, in the form of the screen we see the world through.
  6. It can be if one is dyslexic, metaphorically speaking. I'm not saying I can't get to the shop's, it just takes me longer and I need a nudge sometimes to keep me on track. I stay here, bc I enjoy tje challenge. πŸ––
  7. Thanks for making my point, for instance, if you saw someone in a wheelchair you probably wouldn't say "stop being so lazy, just get up and walk to the shop's". You've made similar comment's in all sorts of thread's, a significant number of them it was your only post/point and did nothing for the discussion at hand. Sorry mate, but you only have to ask and I'll do my best to explain the relevance you don't understand, it would help if you could watch his lecture though, amazingly he does a much better job of speaking it than I can of texting it. Now I've gotta look up Stendhal and his idiom?
  8. Well that's just bloody stupid, it's like saying "let's just give everyone a million dollars, that'll get people spending". I just want the rich to pay their tithe
  9. I guess I mean the technological evolution is in miss-step, with our natural perception of the world around us; I can sit here and travel without taking a journey or using my imagination. I can talk to you, via this medium, but our comunication is vague at best...
  10. Will self inspired my ponder with his take on Psychogeography in one of his lectures, below.
  11. Well, I guess we'll both ponder...
  12. Is that downstream of the river I can't cross twice?
  13. That's not exactly it, full of potential is loaded in unexpected ways, technology is much simpler...
  14. Isn't it incredible, that through nature and technology, I can pick out the specific waves that relate directly to me, in the pool that's foaming from the waves of every single particle in the universe. I'm not sure of the point I'm making, just that it relates to every creed of thought with equanimity...
  15. A little to late for a reset, they're past the event horizon; even Trump has been holding his breath while the barrel slips over the falls. All that's left is to hope for survival...
  16. I have no idea why I'm getting caught up in this national fervour, I don't even like football as a spectator sport, but it's 'coming home'... πŸ€žπŸ™πŸ˜‡ Funny old life init. 🧐
  17. dimreepr replied to Luc Turpin's topic in Speculations
I think he needs a spell on the side-line, just to ponder the advice he's been given; he can return refreshed and perhpas a little wiser, and hopefully with a much requested (at least by me) better question. I look forward to it...
  18. Well, that's more of a religious perspective, scientist's tend to consider the evidence before they declare that 'we' are special; you seem to be presenting the antipode, which makes you kinda religious. I'm not special, nor am I a rock, but I can think and I can comunicate that thinking to a fellow human; the problem you have is Dr Doolittle can't tell you how special a dog is, bc you don't speak the langauge,,,
  19. Who is this we, of which you speak?
  20. The brain is the center for consciousness, sometimes there is no point to a centre. Yes there is, and when you understand the knowledge, the word you'd use is conclusion. No there isn't, at least not one that you've produced in terms of a convincing argument; give it a go, without using google as a pseudo-argument. I stopped reading at this point
  21. It's not a feedback loop, it's more a filter bubble; you hear what you want to hear... πŸ˜‰
  22. I asked 'where' are you going to spend it... 😣
  23. Where are you going to spend that coin?
  24. β€œDon't for heaven's sake, be afraid of talking nonsense! But you must pay attention to your nonsense.” ― Ludwig Wittgenstein
