Is the problem of Hell actually a problem?
Thank you. But, TBH, we've had our fun and what fun it 'was'; if I want to smile, I close my eye's and picture the time she ran gleefully into the canal bc it was covered by a blanket of duckweed, I almost pissed myself laughing as I fished her out... Why wait for heaven... That's a conspiracy theory, designed to inspire fear; hell is a conspiracy designed to inspire peace. But if we consider the shepherd as a metaphore for teacher, given that we're not sheep, then it makes more sense...

Again with negative emotive language, the shepherd is trying to keep them safe, so they can eat their fill of the best grass and sleep, without being eaten. It does when it's the other guy that's suffering, especially if it's 'that' guy, he clearly deserves to (and I've got no other means to demonstrate how much he hurt me) for some reason... You're conflating an awful lot of history here, but imagine for a second the fundamental message is, heaven can only be achieved here and now, while we're alive and hell is a concept designed to help you achieve that. It doesn't have to be a 'brave new world' 'big brother' type scenario, it could just be a nice shepherd with an honest intent.

Is the problem of Hell actually a problem?
Indeed, apologies to all, I buried my dog yesterday and the wake got out of hand (neither cryptic or a joke) ... 🙄 Indeed, they are also a means to find peace, a map of a path to contentment; politics muddy the water's by peddling fear; but who in their right mind would fear contentment. Why, for instance, are contented people portrayed as 'sheeple'???

Thanks, I will... It makes me feel better; what's your excuse?

Parameters of Theory of everything.
Let's hope so, bc the alternative kinda sucks...

Is framing issues in terms of "men and women" necessary in the 21st century?
Imagine that, a salon that only cuts hair...

Is the problem of Hell actually a problem?
It produces peace in the mind of a victim, so it has a value. When a vengeful God becomes to difficult to explain in terms of peace and love, one needs an antipode to explain the rest...

Is money and wealth evil?
The bible was never meant as a reference library of facts, it's a teacher's manual of life; the synopsis of which is heard, by some 'big nose', on the mount... 😉 Read it with that in mind and much is reviled revealed; it might be out of date now, but there's no reason to dismiss the wisdom it contains; unless you're looking for an excuse to revile...

Defining evil
Evil depends on which side of the cutlery one is viewing thing's. Would you consider yourself evil for eating a battery farmed chicken? The difficult thing about this as it relates to humans, is to distance yourself from, so called, atrocities and judge the perp as a human, just like you and me. Evil is just an excuse to do evil, therefore from a rational POV it doesn't exist; but politically... 😣

That kinda tampers with the whole idea of 'free will', if you know what the future holds; what's the point of living that future?- Why isn't polygamy a norm in modern society?
You've answered your own question, society has evolved to favour monogamy: but with divorce rates being what they are, I feel the pendulum is now swinging the other way... 😉- The Dawkins delusion...
That's what I mean, he assumed that knowledge is better than ignorance; I'm not saying willful ignorance has any value BTW. But, god did it is just as viable an answer in science, when exploring the nebulous nature of nature, as it is in the nebulous nature of people. Education is like oxygen, in that it is a dose dependant poison; get too much and you end up thinking about an ever increasing circle of knowledge, until we're thinking about nothing important; get to little and all you think about is, what's important; like that guy with the wax wing's and his hieght fixation.- What's so valuable about art?
There is no map to art, no path to follow, no uber to summon and pay for the journey; Maslow may as well be saying "in my spare time, I dabble with finger paints. Some time in the future that will be very valuable too someone, if they've got enough spare..."- 10k Philosophy challenge
Well, maybe neither of us is correct; but you're welcome to your filter bubble, where you can't be wrong... I don't care anymore...- 10k Philosophy challenge
I'm sorry, there was a point to my question's which would have been revealed upon receipt of your answers (for additional context). Along the lines of, there's no independent adjudication of your rules... Last post @Phi for All, I'd say it's been fun, but lately, with all this prejudice of my intent; no thanks...- 10k Philosophy challenge
I'm sorry, did I interupt your replies... 🙄- What's so valuable about art?
I have explained throughout our exchanges, uniqueness in art is the antipode of supply and demand, it has to be created from the bootstrap. A teacup from the titanic, has many thousands of copies in many a bric-a-brac sale going for pennies, if I can manufacture a link that people will believe, then that teacup will return 10,000% profit for each one that I introduce to the market, in a believable fashion.- 10k Philosophy challenge
Is there ever going to be a time when you'll pay out your money? Isn't it morally wrong to promise something you have no intention of honoring?- Is money and wealth evil?
God didn't right the bible, people did... Besides god doesn't need the money, therefore the question is for 'poeple' of all faith's and antifaith's and everyone in between; god would have to make a new Jesus in order to, vicariously, join the conversation. Jesus said love your neighbours, he didn't stipulate an earnings bracket; in fact, I think he felt sorry for the rich, and not because they're evil... 😉 (look it up)- Is money and wealth evil?
Indeed, the question has nothing to do with god; so why is it still in the wrong forum?- 10k Philosophy challenge
Your OP seems to... 😉- What's so valuable about art?
You seem to have missed my mention of the artworld manufacturing the value of art. That's why I admire Banksy's art, he makes it almost impossible to own and everyone can see the picture. Uniqueness, in the mind of a rich/selfish man, is something I can spend a fortune on and it not cost me a penny, and still not even see the picture; it's value is +1 to me... That seems a little harsh, it is my thread... The most valuable thing I've gotten from art, is the most poignant moment of my life; looking out on Juno beach and my mind superimposing the opening credit's of 'Dad's Army' on the scene in front of me. It gave me a real insight into the value of life...- What's so valuable about art?
It's just a smile, while I walk to the shop... May be that's a Banksy... 😉- What's so valuable about art?
The intrinsic value of art, is that it puts a smile on my face; when I need to walk 1,000 miles to a shop... - Is the problem of Hell actually a problem?
