  1. OK, with that well thought out arguement, I'm getting off this merry-go-round, I'll leave you with this. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Sexes_(tennis)
  2. It's far more nuanced than that... Information... Does it matter where it comes from?
  3. Isn't it more a question of grip? A tank track is an expression of an enormous wheel or a large number of wheel's; if the torque is distributed evenly then every wheel has an even chance to move.
  4. They're just going to wriggle, maybe you can interpret/understand what they said...
  5. I wonder if the evidence will ever be convincing enough to declare sentience, for instance, what answer would be required to the question "what are you?"...
  6. And round and round we go. There will always be someone who has an advantage in any given sport, Jonah Lomu for instance. As long as they don't cheat to gain that advantage they should be allowed to play, it's only when they cheat that it becomes unfair; we can mitigate against that with regulation, but it's never going to be perfect. Just because you suspect one trans athlete's motive's, doesn't give you the right to condemn them all; sport is an artificial simulation of life and we all have a right to play, prior to a conviction.
  7. Indeed +1, that debate goes to the heart of my question... why is western philosophy, more productive?
  8. I think we tend to get confused about the term's of civilised and advancement; we have better gadgets therefore we're more advanced (better, cleverer). I think we should investigate that assumption because they're not equal. I chose the ancient Greeks because they built their civilisation on the back of slaves, we just call them the poor.
  9. Why are we more civilised than the ancient greeks?
  10. No, it's because stoned, is an excuse to your preferred state...
  11. Indeed, I'm always assumed to be stoned; it's very frustrating...
  12. Indeed, but why assume they aren't? It reminds me of the impact of Jonah Lomu
  13. Think you know your nuts...
  14. Indeed, but it's been suggested several time's in our history, mostly by religion's; I often wonder when/if we're going to learn...
  15. Indeed, like so many adults who attack Gretta, personally, for pointing out the obvious; because they can't be bothered to make a few adjustments. People tend to be lazy and shy away from anything that threatens their comfort; so, if they can kick the can down the road, they will, because it's easier (and even if their looking down the barrel, it's easier to just run and hide). So all we're left with, is the hope that our children will sort it out for us; but we're angry when they try... Because it's more profitable. Money is a strange concept, it's meant to make it easier to exchange what we have for what we need, yet all we care about is what we have, rather than what we need. Go figure...
  16. The trick is, to accept the result... 😉
  17. I wish I could; but you're equating ethic's with philosophy...
  18. Aren't we visited by that everyday? We're more advanced than yesterday, because we have mobile phone's now... Why would it take an alien, to find the flaw in that logic?
  19. That's not possible, someone will allways have an advantage; all we can do is, play the game and accept the result...
  20. Shouldn't that care extend to everyone; even if we don't like their choices? If someone feels the need to cheat, to win; I think they need even more care, than someone who just wants to play the game...
  21. I've just edited that post with this: (the losing team can take solice in the fact that no side can win forever) The point is, there's no advantage that can't be surmounted.
  22. The fact is, whatever their physiology, the only fair thing to do is, find a way to let them play. The talk in this thread about a woman's team with a trans-player advantage; It's not the winning side that cries foul (the losing team can take solice in the fact that no side can win forever). And to answer your strawman/irrelevant question, they can move in when they need to, my rights are unaffected. Then we need to find a better way of measuring; that represent's the least harmful outcomes for all concerned.
