Are there more than 2 sexes?
Exactly. Anywhere between xero and near infinite, depending of course, on the criterion, or criteria, being used. If gender/sex is just a personal subjective opinion, there are over 7 billion of them. Opinions, that is.

Are there more than 2 sexes?
Darn it, Stringy, always my kryptonite ... Very well, I'll change that to When your wife is told by her doctor to get screened for testicular cancer.

Will my fly wheel battery/generator break the law of energy conservation?
You know that there is no such thing as 'frictionless', don't you ? The laws of Thermodynamics can be likened to a card game ... 1 - You can't win ( can'tcreate energy in a closed system ). 2 - You can't break even ( no such thing as frictionless ). 3 - You can't get out of the game ( entropy )

Are there more than 2 sexes?
I would remind them that I resemble a typical male, although I've been called a 'she' when I dressed as a woman for Halloween ( one guy even bought me a drink ). If they chose to be rude, and not heed my suggestion, there's no law against that ( yet , apparently ); and rude people seem to be proliferating ( at least in the US ). I cannot change , or force, their perception of reality. And when your doctor tells you to go for a mammogram, because you are a spectrum of genders, I'll believe that SOME differences, or criterea, are not binary. And if you should require an explanation, I will take the time to explain your biases to you, so you're more aware of them 🙂 .

Are there more than 2 sexes?
I know what you mean ... Science always talks about circles and spheres, when we know no such thing as a perfect circle or perfect sphere exists in nature. They are a 'spectrum' of shapes. Seriously, biological classifications are just that, an easy way to group organisms into groups according to certain specific criterea. And, yes, some of those criterea are binary. Does it matter tome what you choose to identify as? Not at all. I only get my back up when I'm told what I have to perceive you as. That is not my subjective reality; don't force yours on me. Do you identify any other organisms as anything other than your subjective perception of them ? Or do you ask your cat if she wants to be referred to as 'dog' ? Yeah, read the story. I was trying to be funny, and failed miserably.

Are there more than 2 sexes?
Sounds like a threesome ( menage a trois ) to me. So, we are discussing recreational sex ?

Are there more than 2 sexes?
Depends on what you mean by sex. Do you mean what gender you identify as ? Recreational ? Or procreational ? This is a Science site, and we classify sex only as it pertains to reproduction of the species. Self identity and recreational, we leave to the psychologists and sociologists. In terms of reproduction, there is a hard line between the two sexes/genders; one gives birth to young, the other doesn't. As they get older women might lose that ability, but sometimes we lose other abilities also. Are humans not classified as bipedal when they use a cane or sit in a wheelchair ? Are humans sighted, or on a 'spectrum', because some lose their eyesight as they get old ? It is black and white; that doesn't mean there aren't species that reproduce asexually, but of those that can even change sex, ( as Sensei mentions ) only give birth as female. Which 'sex' do you want to discuss ?

setting the Minkowski Spacetime model in motion
It is Minkowsky space-time, that already incorporates time ( and the associated dynamics ). That is the reason for calling them 'events'; The place, and the time, are specified. If you are having problems understanding Relativity, ask questions, instead.

The Big Misconception About Electricity
The field is always there. Changes to the field propagate at c . It has little to do with the propagation of the particles, which are, themselves, over-threshold excitations of that field.

I doubt it. A civil 'wrongful death' suit would fail because of the reason you state. It was accepted as self defense, which is not wrongful death. Civil cases have a much lower burden of proof, but other factors, unmentionable in criminal court, can be presented, like the felony history of the 'victims'. And arguing that Ritterhouse went out of his way to insert himself into the situation is a non-starter, as two of the victims' came from further away than he did. There are plenty of court judgements that I don't like, as this kid is destined for many more stupid things, however, according to current law, this was the correct judgement.

How do you sort out the idiots from reasonable thinking people. Simple, the idiots are carrying guns. ( and I 'm guilty of electing Trudeau, not Trump ) I prefer Canuck of Italian descent.

however, the law says he had every right to be there; just as the protesters did. Even all the claims of his gun being illegal are false; because of a mix-up regarding barrel length, his gun was legally owned, and allowed to be carried. Grosskreutz, one of his victims, who pointed a gun at Ritterhouse, was carrying his illegally, as he is a convicted felon. Freeland, one of the other victims, kicked Ritterhouse in the head. This, all according to witness reports and testimony. I don't think it's a stretch that the jury believed he felt threatened. Sure, he is/was a stupid kid, who orchestrated his own peoblems; I think his mentality makes him dangerous and he should be in jail, and not on the streets. But according to the law, as it currently stands, the jury returned the right verdict. Stage a protest to have the laws changed, if you must. Just don't allow any idiots carrying weapons to attend.

I just responded to your claim that racism is not a big deal in Italy as it is in the US. I certainly don't want to censor your opinion. And this is the first time I've been accused of being in an echo chamber and repeating 'already approved ideas'. Usually I'm on the other end of the accusation.

I believe I addressed that. Sorry I wasn't more clear. I did not mean it to be an infrared herring 😄 .

Jordan Peterson's ideas on politis
That assessment is your opinion; and you are entitled to it. ( as you haven't provided any evidence for your assertions ) All JP wants, is to be able to have his own opinion. ( and not be told what his opinion is, by others ) Why are you so offended by other's ideas ? Cosmic horror ? Indifferent and hostile universe ? Yeah, somebody's brain is broken ... You see what I mean about Psychology not being a science, CharonY? Does the garbage posted in this video have any scientific basis ?

A 'birth' is an action; a 'dragon' is an object. They cannot be the same thing. ( IOW, now you're just being annoying ) True, but he is abiding by that other great piece of American law. He is 'standing his ground'. And, if you can walk away, it cannot be labelled 'self defense' ( don't know the details, so I don't know if that also applies to the Chrystul Kizer case ). There seem to be a whole lot of laws that need to be changed ( or amended ) in the US. The fact that the Republicans have decided to make Ritterhouse their 'poster boy', is further evidence of the insanity that passes for 'normal' these days.

Earth is dimming due to climate change:
What I said ... And what your link says ... The only difference is that I provided the mean wavelength of the energy arriving and leaving the Earth. Or do you need me to explain in simpler words ... And what I previously said ... There seems to be a pandemic of reading miscomprehension affecting Forum members. Have you guys been vaccinated against that ?

I don't want to re-argue the trial, because I think Ritterhouse should be in jail, and because I don't think that was Stringy's intent with this thread. If you watched or read about the trial, INow you know that the prosecution argued for murder, while the defense argued that Rittehouse was protecting himself. The jury was not convinced beyond a reasonable doubt that it was murder, and/or, they believed that it was self-defense. So obviously, the jury thought what the victims were doing was not simply 'breaking windows', but actually threatening Ritterhouse with serious harm, if not death. IOW, what they were doing is very relevant, and the likely cause for the decision handed down. Don't blame me for what the jury thought ( or your confusion 🙂 I hear that's common with old age ) Agreed, but probably much less than 30 seconds. You openly carry a gun, legal or not, in Canada, get into an altercation, and shoot someone, it is murder. The fact you were carrying the gun is intent.
-
Rittenhouse
But a jury of your peers just said it wasn't murder ... So your analogy is irrelevant. I say your peers, because in Canada, carrying a gun, as Ritterhouse did, would make him automatically guilty. Why would you have a gun, if you didn't intend to use it ? But of course, there's that darned 2nd Amendment ...

Earth is dimming due to climate change:
Not quite. Earth receives radiation from the Sun centered on the visible wavelength ( roughly 4000o C ). This provides heating of the Earth. The Earth then re-radiates this heat, but at a much lower mean temperature, approx. 20o C ( infrared/microwave wavelength ). The atmospheric molecules of CO2 ( and others ) vibrate and bend at this characteristic wavelength. It is then re-emitted by the CO2/greenhouse gas, and up to 50 % can head back to the Earth. What greenhhouse gases do, is obstruct the planet's ability to radiate heat away
