Welcome, um, Kevin. Your profile says you teach astronomy at a school in the UK. Just curious what school that is. Thanks.

My advice on praying is to start by talking to a brick. Experiment with all of the languages and postures that you can dream up. Then try it to music. When you are satisfied that you can't think of anything else, start talking to an imaginary, invisible brick. Give it a name, ask it for favours, learn to love it and fear it at the same time. Then force your children to worship the invisible brick, and teach them brick rituals that they can pass on to their own children. And kill anyone who disrespects the brick. Then choose leaders, wise in the ways of the brick, to tell you how to live your life, and give them lots of money. This is the path to wisdom and enl…

The observed constant value of the Hubbel parameter of Ho ≈ (70km /s) /Mpc for all galaxies, regardless of their distance from Earth, contradicts the theory of the Big Bang and the expansion of the Universe. The calculations presented in the program SagitariusBR available on the link https://www.dropbox.com/s/n7hm6vom2viowhc/ProgramSagitariusBR.pdf?dl=0 show that in the case of the expansion of the Universe, the observed value of the Hubbel parameter H for galaxies closer to Earth should decrease and this is not observed.

The problem with taxation is that the public and private sectors are each extraordinarily corrupt. Communism works no better than capitalism when human beings enter the picture. As far as your scientific question goes, I don't have 14 doctorates therefore I can't meet the illustrious standards required by the Medieval Roman Catholic Cardinals... sorry, I mean ScienceForum moderators... required to offer an opinion on this subject. On a completely unrelated note with zero logical implications, kilonovas are an interesting phenomenon, wouldn't you say?

Time is universal. The clock is an artifice. He might not want to say it but I will: you are stupid, and belligerently arrogant. You are the one who needs to update your understanding of relativity, which in turn should improve your capacity to contribute productively to a conversation as opposed to imposing your imagined intellectual superiority.

First, the supermassive objects of the centers of the galaxies arose in their own 3 D “initial explosions” from the pre-existing pushing force into existing space, and later these space-expanding supermassive objects collided with each other at a steep angle from their initial journey and new colliding galaxies from those collisions. The space-expanding stars arose from the expanding dark matter protruding from the expanding supermassive objects in the centers of the galaxies. Expanding stars have always protruded away from a supermassive object in the center of their own galaxy along a spiral orbit in roughly the same proportion as they have expanded. Alth…

I am the one who explained how the universe works. To this day, in 2021, physicists still do not have a theory of everything in physics. Why. Because current small-scale and large-scale theories misrepresent the universe. Mathematically, these theories have worked excellently. But they cannot be combined mathematically into an all-encompassing theory of everything in physics. It is a big problem for physicists when it comes to pursuing the theory of everything in physics. Doubt arises. Do quantum theories and the theory of relativity describe the universe correctly. I think they misrepresent the universe. The theory of relativity co…

At the risk of being accused of another thread hijack, I am going to put in my two cents, mainly because nobody has mentioned how a meter is currently defined in SI units (or, if they did, I missed it.) For the past couple of years, the meter is defined in terms of speed of light, or in other words, the unit is the distance that light travels in something like 3(10^-8)seconds someone needs to check that because I'm still having difficultly adjusting to the metric system, i know a foot is the distance light travels in one ns. The old Heathkit oscilloscopes had timing delays that were just long rraces runing back and forth on a pcb. They were able to promote this long t…

oh boy , I suppose im being framed as a troll. please answer my question instead of reaching for other false conclusions please zapatos. Ive only 5 posts a day till full membership so its not like id be a good troll in 5 posts per day would you think? Spoiler ill show myself out , but at least i can be honest enough to admit if I just dont know something or not, unlike others. my only intention was to encourage thought on the matter of other species and parameters for what love may be against an impossible question like "what is the purpose of life?" if that gives soooo many down votes to me then ill just leave this thread bc…

Well his pronouns were correct as his genetics by science are xy and since science is how we define sex unlike popular fads of trying to rename a documented and confirmed nomenclature like male and female . I know you (sorry I forgot to bow down to the new use of pronouns ....yes you is a bad word....uh what is it now? Thing ...yes thing )....thing will probably meltdown on this but its for your own good . Sir or young man thing or whatever either way. Identifying and being a woman are two different things entirely . Fate has made him male . at least at his very very core. And that he cannot get rid of (im minding scientific pronouns btw). At least not currentl…

The modern alternative, in a digital society, to the medieval "sealing wax" is the digital signature: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_signature Unfortunately barely used by ordinary people. Therefore hackers can pretend to be friends and family while conversation by e-mail and send malicious content or links to malicious websites. A common route of infection for politicians and businessmen (mostly as experienced in computer science as ordinary people).

Created by Sergio Papaseto and Miguel Angelo Fettucini English version: In a bored night two young men while playing a famous pirate game came up with the theory of how a living being passes from death to life. That same night those young people took the reins of one of the most anticipated and needed discussions in the universe, in which these promising young scientists faced the great and renowned biologist around the globe, Charles Darwin. At that time all the box of scientists across the planet listened with attention to those words that came from which majestic mouths. The mortal Miguel Angelo stood up stating that once a soul leaves the body,…

Only on reddit? 😂 People decide always based on emotions at the end (except like instincts etc.) did you know that? And they use logic to justify their claims https://bigthink.com/experts-corner/decisions-are-emotional-not-logical-the-neuroscience-behind-decision-making Just first random peoples which viewed it downvoted, because they are dumb... On reddit: you get either massively upvoted, or downvoted usually... Sadly topic is less viewed if first burst are downvotes... Reddit is shithole for posting anything else than interesting news... Why you use this combative talking style and being sarcastic just because he doesn't have a rep? Never mind it was a rhe…

I have asked this question, but the topic was pulled to a different side which is human color perception. Because of this reason, I did not get a satisfactory answer. I want to ask again the same question more clearly ,taking refuge in your understanding. Thanks in advance. If we think about all possible color hues according to "Lab Color Space" (lightness values)L* and these colors are saturated ( pure hues without lighter shades ), yellow is the second lightest color next to white and it is also the closest color to white. ( I mean here the lightness, not brightness. If we are talking about the brightness, lime green is perceived by human eye as a brighter color t…

. Exactly the opposite ... . Life is ... regardless your so-called imagination ... . Imagination is mind fabrication ... . Truth is not mind fabrication ... . Truth is a fact; not made by human mind ... . Truth can be discovered by human ... when ... he is in a state which is beyond mind. When he is pure knowing ... . Everything is as it is ... Whether you conceive it or not ... . You have to fit with truth ... not the opposite ...
