In just FIVE minutes you should learn to quickly multiply up to 20x20 in your head. With this trick, you will be able to multiply any two numbers from 11 to 19 in your head quickly, without the use of a calculator. I will assume that you know your multiplication table reasonably well up to 10x10. Try this: Take 15 x 13 for an example. Always place the larger number of the two on top in your mind. Then draw the shape of Africa mentally so it covers the 15 and the 3 from the 13 below. Those covered numbers are all you need. First add 15 + 3 = 18 Add a zero behind it (multiply by 10) to get 180. Multiply the covered lower 3 x the single digit above i…

Follow the instructions: (if they seem vague to you just do what you think is right) 1. Read every direction before you start. 2. Take a sheet of paper. 3. Write your name in the top left corner of the paper. 4. Take scissors and cut a circle in the middle of the paper. 5. Write your name anywhere on the circle. 6. Scribble out your name on both the sheet of paper and the circle. 7. Write your favorite number on the back of the circle. 8. Multiply that number by two and write it below the first number you wrote. 9. Devide your new number by three and write the quotient below both other numbers. 10. If your newest number is between 1 and 100, draw a smile…

Ok, I have a question for all of you that a teacher asked me, and he told me it was an old cambridge interview question. I took a minute to think about it, but I was able to answer it correctly the first time. Ok, I drill a hole through the Earth directly from one side of the Earth to the other. I drill it in a staright line that passes through the centre of the Earth and the length of the hole is the diameter of the Earth(ignore things like a hot core of magma etc). Now I drop a ball bearing down the hole which experiences no friction or air resistance as it falls down the hole. Describe to me the motion of the ball bearing. It's sounding quite easy to me now:-)

Seeing as most of the threads here aren't all too entertaining, I don't feel so bad posting this one. I'm sure some of you have heard it before. It's more powerful than God, more evil than the devil, the poor have it, the rich need it, and if you eat it you die. WHAT IS IT?

Before I ask the question, I would like to warn you that this is a "think outside the box" type question. There is no mathmatical equation or anyhting like that to figure this out *hint hint*. It's just for fun. So here's the question: How can you fit nine cars into eight spaces?

I think there was already a thread (not on the brain teaser and puzzle forum) that had this question so if you saw the answer, please do not post it. Thanks. Anyway, how is .999... equal to 1? It's actually simple, but a lot of people have a hard time figuring it out.

Just for something different... On The 4th of May, at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00 in the morning, the time and date will be 01:02:03 04/05/06. That won't ever happen again in our lifetime.Apparently it will be approx 400 generations before it happens again. . So can anyone come up with the next time and date or even past occurances that there is such a correlation?
