There's a song I have been trying to find what language the lyrics are in. The song is called Saints and Sinners by Dj Distance. I've tried Google translate with phonetic typing and I can't pull up anything. It's driving me nuts. I've had Hindi and Punjabi speaking persons listen to it and they say the same thing as I do it is so much like a mix of languages but no one can place it exactly and it is making it impossible to translate the damn thing. Does anyone have the ultimate answer to solving this dilemma? I have spent some serious hours trying to figure it out and it's driving me bonkers. It's a very sensual song so most of my focus has been on finding words th…

Hi I'm a college dropout but I like science. I woke this morning with one thing on my mind. Patternistic Multiple Photonic Quantum Entanglement I see one major flaw in how we are doing it. The Earth and every point on it is moving through the universe, absolutely at a speed which varys by the rotation point, revolution point, solar movement, galactic movement and universal expansion. I tried to develop an equation to solve what our absolute speed is at any given time but it was fail. The method I used simplified matters to the lowest reachable degree kelvin's relationship to the fact that it is that high from our universal movements. I believe in order to do any real …

Either as a job, or hired to pursue their now famous work. For example: Socrates, Plato, or Aristotle for their contributions to philosophy. And Isaac Newton or Albert Einstein for their contributions to science. Benjamin Franklin for his inventions.

How come we don't have walls anymore like those in medieval ages cities had? Imagine with all the technology today and knowledge, we probably could build the strongest one than ever before made...

Junior at UT Austin, majoring in Computer Science, I plan to continue on for my PhD I sit around day dreaming a LOT. I have a decent social life, but all I can think about is science, economics, business, etc. I want to turn my ideas into reality, develop neural interface devices, artificial intelligence, turn them into a prospering business, design smart houses, build myself a multi-million dollar waterside mansion, rub elbows with powerful politicians, attempt to prevent the degradation of scientific advancement in the US, get grants to build Utopian science communities. All the ambition you could imagine with no vent. I'm learning the basics at a painfully slow…

I've heard many times that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, unfortunately no one ever says why. There is the occassional correlation between slim people and breakfast eating, but no one ever states there is a causation. I cannot think of a reason why any meal is important, much less why one meal is the most important. Some cultures do not have any meals at all, and people just eat as they get hungry. On a related topic, I frequently hear people stressing the importance of families eating dinner together, as if doing so will result in a happy, well adjusted family. What is so special about dinner? If breakfast is the most important meal of the day anywa…

Just one of those slightly interesting, but not very meaningful things that you notice from time to time. Average human cell is a few microns. [math](10^{-6}m)^3\times 1000kg\times 10^{27}[/math] Gives somewhere on the order of 10^12 atoms about 10^13 cells in a human body. about 10^10 humans on earth about 10^11 to 10^12 stars in the galaxy about 10^12 galaxies in the observable universe about 10^10 transistors in a modern cpu. Up to 10^12 if you count storage as part of the computer. So somewhere between 10 billion and 10 trillion things make a thing that acts in a completely new way.

Good example of natural behaviour caused by the lack of presentation of Mods & experts. @ Jiggerj. I am Michel, I am not an expert, I am not from the staff. You can check my presentation page here. You shouldn't get angry so quickly, it is a misunderstanding. We (almost) all got through this. I insist: Jiggerj is right. He is new here, he knows nothing about the people he is talking to. Respectable Swansont should have presented himself ("Hello, welcome, I am blahblahblah, PhD in physics, Nobel Prize 2010, have a look at the wiki article about me, etcaetera, that's an interesting question of yours, as an expert in this field I'll try to answer, then go bla…

I was watching an Olympic games documentary. In it there was highlights shown of 1988s seoul, south korea olympics of yester years! The venues where olympic games are held other than south korea it seemed to me in that documentary that the participants seemed rigid with racism performance! But the south korea olympics seemed so funny to me as it clearly seems the athletes other than 100m, 200m and hurdles were loose performing athletes with no competition, just playing for the spirit of the game! So in other olympic games are the athletes really powerful athletes or are just showy! Lets say seoul, south korea showcases unbiased state so are indian athletes boycotting olym…

I had seen in my mind's visions that the iran nuclear reactor which was shown on tv some days back was run down and was then uninhabitated. The US had devastated many cities of iran with animosity and inhumane hatred behaviour. Such that many iranians were left to eating white bread crumbs siting on white concrete fallen structures and some with sunken healths! I had seen the iranian army marchpast, but i think it would take more than just morale to fight US army. The islamists, shafavids, bactrians, kazaks and some muslim jews! Only a superman who could fly in the sky then save iran cities from US missiles as per my visions the superhuman does exists somewhere! Iran worl…

I have enlisted and wrote many topics on various science forums on the internet! I do read all the topics of the forums under various categories, and it seems to me that many of you are all just stupid science ruffians. Doesn't even know how to write physics vectors, neither biology nor chemistry topics are any sane! Its looks like you people come from scam science publications, your teachers were a big rut! No one can even give a reply to such weird rotten thoughts!

In the movie classic 'schindlers' list' there is shown portrayal of nazi camps of jews! But in that movie there are no germans! Germans are white pink skin foreigner race people living only in germany. In the movie whereas the jews part is played by south africans and the german nazis part is played by american cast. The jews saga started when the czars took to crucifying them in death camps. This ideology was then adopted by later waring nations like german hitler in world wars. How ironically true!

symptom - more pimple pop on my face. - my computer BSOD this day. - read [math]3^{t-2}[/math] as [math]3^{t-3}[/math] - solve [math]9x - 8 = 0[/math] as [math]x = \frac{9}{8}[/math] - calculate [math](k^2)(k^{5+t})[/math] as [math] k^{2(5+t)}[/math] - wrong almost every problem that I solved by mistake from above(except for pimple). - losing my calculator. - god is not exist. - not having my coffee today. - having "eh, I know how to answer this" moment while writing long post to ask the expert here. I have two question, did I'm still sane? please said to me the above symptom is just bad luck, right?! should I stop try to be funny?

I remember reading a book as an eight year-old boy in Scotland which praised the honesty of the man that eventually led America and whose morals prevailed during a vicious Civil War. I was impressed. As a middle-aged man, I came across the idea that everything I thought I knew about this man could have been a myth. I present below 2 accounts about Lincoln; one which is unashamedly sycophantic, and the other is more cynical. Perhaps the truth lies somewhere in the middle. Any comments? Link Sycophantic Link

In another topic several members were moaning about what a waste of money buying a valentines card would be. I haven't been able to find that topic. If a moderator wants to add this to that topic that would be fine by me. I see in today's press that Asda, a subsidiary of Walmart, is selling a Valentine's card for 7p.( about 11 cents). Come on lads, surely a smile from your beloved would be worth that amount? Think of the pleasure such a gesture would give her. I don't think I'll try it with my wife however - she would probably hit me with something hard and metallic from the kitchen! What do the girls on the forum think, I wonder? Would an 11c card be better than no …

I am very proud of my daughter Helen. She is in her late 40's and has been working through the Open University toward gaining academic qualifications. She has only a dissertation to complete in order to get her Master's Degree in English Literature. In her spare time she has written a novel which she describes as an easy read, rather dark, mystery thriller. I have downloaded it but not yet had time to read more than a few chapters. If you have a Kindle, or download books on your computer, and like this type of book it's title is "Hollywell" and the author is Helen Peden. It's available to download through Amazon. It costs only $3.05 to download. As her father, you wou…

Even as we push the envelope on space travel and plunge into the St Andreas Fault seeking an alien trinity: Science, God and the Devil; we cringe at the slightest unknown mystery here on earth. So, just what is our problem? Not planning to have, or attend a New Years Eve gala last evening, 12/31/2011, it seemed like a good chance to watch some TV. So, after the six o’clock news I turned on the history channel. First, some nerdy but seemingly intelligent folks were out in the woods hunting down “Big Foot”, or (Sasquatch) if you will. How long has this series kept us spellbound? Whoopee! Next a bunch of very distinguished speaking braineiacs were “theorizing” their f…

There seems to be quite a delay between changing your photo or Avatar and the time it takes for them to take effect. In particular the two places the photo appears in can be separated by some days. How long should you wait before deciding something has gone wrong? Should you remove a photo or Avatar that "hasn't taken" after a certain period and try again?
