Seen any good sculptures made from almonds lately? Note: no other nut-based sculptures may be discussed under threat of the ban-hammer!

Hey, I just damaged a bus stop sign... pretty badly. I imagine I'm going to be paying for it in a day or two. Who owns bus stop signs so that I may nip this in the bud? Also, would it be a hit and run if I were to "exit stage left" as it were? I did not do anything illegal, but I did damage municipal (not sure) property.

Come on this is rediculous. The music industry is trying to scare everyone into not downloading any music but I won't stand for it. I've downloaded lots of music since they started this bullshit. I hate them. They can't stop people from doing things like this. 15 dollars for a CD, yeah right.

Have you ever watched it? Do you think it's cool? Have you ever played the videogame? Is it "better" than UFC? I for one think it's a pretty cool sport. I like it more than I like boxing, and I think it's about time this type of fighting can be broadcast and have a big following. I'm relatively new to watching but so far I like it a lot. It really tests the emotions and skills that humans have. Not to mention its pretty damn exciting, it gets your adrenaline flowing. You never know when someones gonna land that big face crushing flying knee or thundering knock out punch. A lot of skill is involved in managing yourself when someone tries to get you into a submission, and y…

A nearly completed, $239 million weather satellite toppled to the floor as it was being moved at a Lockheed Martin plant and was seriously damaged, officials said Tuesday. Check out the picture: Here (just a small warning, the website has an obscenity in the name)

I love the BBC's reporting http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/tv_and_radio/3100550.stm Just standing under David Blaines little box going 'oooh, it's a bit boring isn't it?' to nobody in general. Don't know if you heard about in the US, but the Londoners are annoyed with david, they keep chucking food at him and playing drums under his plastic tub. It's funny people just trying to mess with his mind. He didn't get that in the US. I'm trying to convince Sayonara³ to come down with us so we can walk around his a box with a sign that says:- Heh.

I am Demosthenes. I am a moderator and a loudmouth over on HackerNetwork.com. A relatively new member over there, Dudde, suggested I check out this place, and I find it intriguing, though I do need to read a few more threads to get a feel for your forum here. Anyway, I just thought I'd make a "hello" thread here and introduce myself before wading into any serious discussions or giving any input on any of the topics of interest.

if you haven't gathered from all my other posts, i'm a firm believer in the government's ability to oversee certain programs, and its potential for doing more with others. with that in mind, i would like to focus this this thread on abortion. i searched and didn't find any other threads on it. similar to other threads in these forums, this topic has the potential to stimulate thought and debate so i'll start it off. with my belief that the government should oversee all aspects of the medical industry, i believe abortions should fall within this realm. i believe that abortions should be legalized. of course with certain restrictions and enforcements. 1. we've all…

I just felt like I would tell you guys what I did over the summer. Over the summer I got bored and decided to build a distillery, because I was genuinely interested in the subject. I figured that the field I will be going into deals a lot with fermentation, and chemistry, I thought this would be a great learning experience, and believe me it was. Before we actually built the still, we needed to make some base alcohol. At first we used regular old baker's yeast we found at Winn Dixie, I read in a book the yeast needed all kinds of things to help them grow and produce alcohol such as folic acid, free nitrogen, and vitamins, We had no idea how much of which we ne…

Watching this documentary really showed me how f'ed up the world is, and what a fucked up species we are. We are so selfish, to bring such horrible violence upon each other and forget all about how it affects everyone. Children were obviously the focus, and I'm not one of those people that screams "what about the children" everytime something bad happens, but it's true. They are the ones that have to live in these countries where war and murder are a part of everyday life and they're just kids. It was so fuckin sad. Mostly it just made me sad to see the horrors we're capable of. They showed the Hutu's murdering the Tutsi's in Rwanda and it was just - horrifying, that…

Is there any real reason to leave pseudoscience open? No one actively posts in there...(no one wants to be labeled psuedoscientist aside from zarkov). I'm thinking we should just shut it down..

It always seems that around 1900 GMT all y'all Englishmen disappear for a while. Where do y'all go? Dinner/Supper? Or is it off to the local for a pint? I lived in Merry Ol' England for two years and I must say....(dramatic pause)....I wish I was there right now! I love it! I lived on RAF Chicksands and in St. Neots. Frequented Bedford and Cambridge quite often. I hope to make it back someday soon for a visit. If ever again I am single I may try to move there.
