Everyone has a surname (lastname), but have you ever wondered when it all began? Who was the first person to be named a last name? In othe words how far do you have to go down on your family tree to reach some distant relative that doesn't have your surname?

Does everyone believe the Echelon network is needed? Should the NSA be able to monitor all telecommunication? If yes should it be shared with other governments like Australia?

Because of our semi-voluntary education system in the West, and the cost of a relatively good education, it is my great concern that the majority of the population are not equipped with enough basic scientific knowledge with which to protect themselves from the challenges of modern life. I'm wondering... I am a writer and my vocabulary isn't very extensive at all, however, when i write, sometimes i amaze myself after i go back and read some of the things i have written. there is a theory on what is called automatic writing which is where a spirit or energy speaks through you...i'm not sure if i believe that although it's an awesome concept. any thoughts? sometimes i don't even remember what i write! :help:

This is best described as drink of the gods... it's basically beer which sits in an open vat with fermenting fruit. It's the best drink. Ever. Why haven't the liquor store people even heard of it???
