I know you guys here are smart. So here I am seeking some advice. I've recently been married, quit my pie inventory job at P&G and moved 150 miles away. I found work quick, for a $4 pay cut. Worked there for about 4 months when the company decided to fire me because the inventory was coming up short. Nevermind that the store has no security systems, no way of preventing theft, and a poor setup. Anyhow, this gets you to my current point. I'm unemployed, and tired of working for people who will scapegoat you in the blink of an eye just to get out of there screwups. Before I lost my job I obtained a membership with a wholesale dropshipper, much like SMC but wa…

I could use a little help. Life was much easier until I went into business for myself. Now I am questioning the wisdom of such a move. My main problem lies not with the product that I sell. My main problem is with the organizational and the money management aspects of self-employment. Can some people who are successfully in business for themselves give me some hints? I feel like I am drowning in paperwork. I am a sole proprietor. I sell a service not a product. I have trouble doing things like remembering to write down minor expenses and prodding myself into invoicing. You would think I could manage to do these things that would be most beneficial to me.

and saw electric clams! I never saw, or even heard of such a species of clam! It was a rapid flicker of blue electricity streaming inside the clams shell. Amazing!

Benefits of Quitting Smoking • Quitting smoking any time will make life not only better, but also longer. • If you are pregnant, quitting smoking will improve your chances of having a healthy baby. • Infants and young children are at special risk and could suffer permanent damage due to cigarette side-stream smoke. • You will have extra money to spend on things other than cigarettes. • Studies have shown that more than 25 percent of U.S. adults smoke and if you are a 45-year-old woman who does smoke, the odds that you’ll die in the next decade are 50 in 1,000. • Although 70% of smokers want to stop smoking and 41% attempt to quit smoking each year, only 2.5…

Don't throw out that old lcd display. If the back lights gone or is weak you can still use lcd part of the display to make a projection tv. You will also need an old projector like the school ones. You will need a video output from your dvd/sky box etc that can be connected to the display input like svideo and, the screen obviously needs to be able accept that kind of input. You may also need to place a dumy load on the circuit in place of the back light as some of the driver circuits look for this load before they will operate. Just thought I mention this as it could make a nice project with a cool result. If anyone is interested I'll put up some more info.

There was an article on AOL news today (http://aolsvc.news.aol.com/news/article.adp?id=20050226073809990007) about how embarassed the creator and star of a short flash video called "Numa Numa", which features a 19 year old kid singing and dancing (like a lunatic) to a Romanian Pop song. The article definitely gives it a pitying, "is not fair" slant to this account. It fails to really define, however, that he willfully put this ridiculous and embrarassing video online himself. Although I feel bad for him, I am kind of inclined to think he has no right to be upset. What do you think? Here's a quote: Um yeah, the internet is widely accessable. Any one who makes …

once had a psych professor use the light spectrum to illustrate what portion we can visually see. he then asked what wave had the shortest length. I raised my hand and said 'gamma', he then replied, 'no', to which i replied, 'yes'. this happened one more time then he asked me why it was no. i had to explain to him negative exponents. he said, i dont think youre right but ill check on that. so the next week he came in, began his class and addressed a few other concerns and then said, 'and john, youre absolutely right. i guess ive been teaching it wrong for 20 years now.' thats rather unsettling. does anyone else have stories like this? i hope im not the only student…

I`ve recently more or less completed an idea and it`s workings. it can be basicly A non Newtonian motion Drive, and/or an Inertial Damper, the use is for in Space (Zero G) and idealy for Service robots/Tool carriers on EVAs, both perfectly operationaly with or without an atmosphere. now I`de Love to share this idea and it`s simplicity with you all, but it`s Original and not used (Unless Nasa or Area 51 are holding back on us). what would you reccomend I do? and no, I have no cash for a patent!

i read somewhere about a woman who was deaf and blind and that she communicated to some scientists her dreams. they involved feeling something very heavy fall to the ground close by and feeling scared. the article didnt explian how communication could be established with a person who is both deaf and blind. obviously it must be to do with touch but no matter how hard i try to figure it out i just cant! could someone enlighten me? also is it possible for a person to be born with no nervous system- that is to say they have no external receptors? like sometimes when you wake up and you have been lying on your arm and you cant move it and it is completely lifeless…

This might be a bit of a strange question, but does anyone know of any cds that consists of drum solos? I'm thinking of a group that came into our school a few days ago and wanted a break so they walked off the stage and let the drummer solo for about 10 minutes. Anyway, he was amazing and it was really fun to watch. I was wondering if there was anyone out there who would make a cd of just drum solos like that.

Shoot, over the past few weeks I've noticed an increase in the amount of sonic booms in San Jose. Recently, due to tests and an increase in homework, I decided to wake up at around 6 A.M. to study and finish up homework and projects. Some mornings around that time, I hear this low hum that was really loud. It woke my sister up. It continued for like 10 minutes or so, unlike any kind of plane I've heard. Last Friday, when my class was taking a test, this really loud shockwave hit. It was like a jet plane was blasting off or a 9.0 earthquake hit. The windows shook and everything. Pretty crazy.
