Does anyone here like poetry? I've written a lot of poems, and two of them have been published in books. I have one of the books, the other one isn't out yet. However, you can read most of the poems I've written at my poetry web site http://www.destinypoems.com. Let me know what you think about them.

Does anyone know of a website, similar to this, but focusing on the Humanities (History, Religion, Language, Cultures)? I haven't been able to find a good quality one beside History Channel, but that focuses to much on the United States. Possibly in Spanish if able.

Hello, I'm in search of some accurate and important feedback regarding a question about WM. I won't bore you with the details of why this is so important, other than to say I want to avoid undue hurt to someone. I must delete this person as a contact on my WM account and close out the account. However, I'm curious as to whether she'll receive a message on her end saying "Ted Marx has deleted you as a contact". Thanks, Ted

Here is a neat website ... you can click on the various satellites and see its view of earth: http://fourmilab.ch/earthview/satellite.html I am struck by how few clouds are shown. Is there some kind of filter in the cameras that remove them?

Oil is a limited element throughout the world. What if one day there is no more oil? Then we need to use something else to replace the boost for cars. Do you think electricity can do well on that? Is electricity limited or producible?

Just a thought inspired by a thread asking how scientific journals work: Although there are many amatuer scientists who frequent this site, there are also quite a number of researchers, university graduates/postgraduates and professionals who are members here (myself included). These people may have a number of scientific publications, journal articles, research interests etc that are of interest to the various areas in the forum. I was thinking that if some of these people were to post some of their research articles (links) or simply tell others about what their research involves and why it is important, it may be a way of promoting real applied science to those…

I love to order games online. Let me xplain this first: when a game is produced, the factories will make many copies of it and so are plastic cases, then they will send those newly-packed games to retailers over states. I am just curious: when you order somethings in EB site, do they directly pick the games in their store shelves to pack and send to your house; or do they just make call to those industries I mentioned to send the game I ordered to my houses? I often see some paperbag-like boxes and so on sent to the GameStop store where I was shopping at, and I assume those boxes are just similar as the ones sent to my house, so just a hypothesis. Does that mean the game…

  19. I don't know. Some people on the net told me that Germans are very strict, hard-working group among all Europeans. They said because Germany have strong antecedent with the natives of Israel--which is Hebrew. We all know Jewish are smart at math or whatever, they were the earliest colonist in East German. And Eistien was half German and Half Jewish. So is this country stricest country over there? Also I heard German language has lots to do with Hebrew, right?

we are gonna race Physicsforums without them knowing it. here it iss: you post one thing that you know about the person whose post is directly before yours. three different people must post before you can post again. they don't seem to know how to follow the rules, but i think we can.

  23. The Theory of Evolution The way that for 150 years certain people have been devoted to such an extraordinarily illogical belief as the theory of evolution is a great miracle created by God by making use of Satan. Those with good sense and faith in God and who are aware of this miracle have been waiting for 150 years to see just when evolutionists would become aware of this deception of Satan's, and have been using various means of suggestion, employing scientific and rational methods, to awaken them. The way that hundreds of thousands of professors, scientists, university students and doctors have blindly believed in the exceptionally illogical claims of the theory…

Why do we want a single number to define how intelligent we or AI-devices are? Even for a simple CPU comparison we use lot's of benchmarks numbers. Put a faster CPU in it and suddenly it's a lot smarter. Or does time not count for AI-devices? Do you think that as long that a 'software-CPU / AI-device' isn't decleared alive it has no IQ. Is it somewhere proven that there exist something like 'universal intelligence'? It depends on the reference environment it even depends on time making it as relative as it can be. (maybe you are a genius on Mars ) some reference article http://www.newscientist.com/article.ns?id=dn7842

  25. I don't know why. I have tried several years for making my shooting sharp, but it hardly works. I know, you have to aim a certain focus in mid-air in order to shoot the ball accurately into the basket. Everytime, when I tried to make my body fully depressed, I shot with currect pose, but the ball's shooting-in did not increase. I am wondering that the National Basketball Association must be using the ball which is lighter. I have strong arms, told by many people, but my arms just have troubles to handle the ball with correct currecy of energy. NBA players, they could even shoot the ball in mid-court. I find no logic how they could shoot the ball which gives heavy pre…
