Who know PrimaGames co. and BradyGames co.? Comparing those two book publishers, why Brady has published more guides, more consumers love to buy their books? And why the guides their amount is not as many as Brady? Why I found out many books of Prima are out of order in their site? In your opinion, which of them you like purchase the most? I think Brady has a good quality, but Prima not bad at all.

It seems difficult to find research on this topic though I'd expect there to be an endless supply of it. Is there evidence whether activities that give people an outlet to express basic drives reinforce the behavior or prevent them from using more damaging ways to meet the urge? (Examples would be paintballing and video games to channel drives of agression into, pornography, etc.) These activites are just like reenactments that we're deriving the satisfaction from but aren't serving their evolutionary function (ie: going to scary movies to get that fight or flight response we don't get enough of as we're not often chased my predators or overeating). Of course innate drive…

I've been a member for about a month now, and the forum lists me as having posted 56 times. but i am sure i have posted more like 65. it's not a big deal, i'm here to learn not to make myself look smart or anything. but is this just a glitch, or do posts have to be a certain length to be counted, or have moderators/administrators just deleted some of my less intelligent posts? just a little confused.

Humans have no true purpose. As I watch humans progress through the years, I have realized how utterly pathetic and virutally useless the human race actually is...Some people like to think that the human race will amount to something big one day. It very well might happen, but as of this point in time, it is nothing but a mischiveous race of overgrown monkeys scurrying about blissfully unaware of how pointless it truly is. Eventually, I believe that humans will end up killing each other out. People think that they've done things that will change the universe...heh. Humans have done nothing to make any type of mark on the universe. As for me, I blissfully dream of be…

Hi all, I have a weekly webcomic that looks at the goofy things that happen in laboratories, based, in part, on my 20+ years working in a lab. It's called Lab Bratz and I've been putting it out for almost 6 months now. I've mostly posted about this on comicbook sites, then realized that the natural audience for this type of humor is here in the science community. If you have a chance, please take a look and let me know what you think about it (either here or by email: LabBratz@hotmail.com ). Thanks, Amtekoth (AKA Ed...scientist and writer)

Hi all. I thought this the most appropriate forum. My 9 yo son has a science project at school soon, theme of energy/electricity. I asked for ideas on a football forum I use, and one fella suggested the old coathanger wire bent crazily, with a ring and handle attached, all rigged up to a 9v battery (I think) as well as torch light bulb etc, the object being to get the handle with the ring from one end of the crazily bent coathanger wire to the other without contact......the lightbulb acting as a signal when contacts made. (similar to below) I recall seeing these simple things on kids shows I watched inthe 70's, but man...were going back a way, and man…

Does anyone here like poetry? I've written a lot of poems, and two of them have been published in books. I have one of the books, the other one isn't out yet. However, you can read most of the poems I've written at my poetry web site http://www.destinypoems.com. Let me know what you think about them.

Does anyone know of a website, similar to this, but focusing on the Humanities (History, Religion, Language, Cultures)? I haven't been able to find a good quality one beside History Channel, but that focuses to much on the United States. Possibly in Spanish if able.

Hello, I'm in search of some accurate and important feedback regarding a question about WM. I won't bore you with the details of why this is so important, other than to say I want to avoid undue hurt to someone. I must delete this person as a contact on my WM account and close out the account. However, I'm curious as to whether she'll receive a message on her end saying "Ted Marx has deleted you as a contact". Thanks, Ted

Oil is a limited element throughout the world. What if one day there is no more oil? Then we need to use something else to replace the boost for cars. Do you think electricity can do well on that? Is electricity limited or producible?

Just a thought inspired by a thread asking how scientific journals work: Although there are many amatuer scientists who frequent this site, there are also quite a number of researchers, university graduates/postgraduates and professionals who are members here (myself included). These people may have a number of scientific publications, journal articles, research interests etc that are of interest to the various areas in the forum. I was thinking that if some of these people were to post some of their research articles (links) or simply tell others about what their research involves and why it is important, it may be a way of promoting real applied science to those…
