Speculations Forum Rules

The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:

  1. Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
  2. Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
  3. Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.

The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

In this presentation, we would like to show what happens when we add a new dimension to equation of the Lorentz, and found that the conclusions that there are several cases including those that could help resolve the dispute if there is a movement of the particles faster than the speed of light. We think that we must agree if there is the possibility of the existence of particles that move faster than the speed of light, we have to be prepared for how to deal with this matter. You can see the full work on this link : http://www.filedropper.com/341-46310061309-jpms09mhelmysaid1 I would like to have your opinions about it. Thank you. Regards, M…

  3. I believe that politicians are extremely smart depending on their history and where or with who they are located. I was wondering though, will the next presidential candidates (or any candidate for that matter) be involved in data science? Our world is changing very rapidly. "[People tend to think that the change is linear, but it's actually exponential.]" -see Ray Kurzweil, law of accelerating returns. We need to be on top of our game, absolutely. The data that we are getting from all the people connected across the globe is growing exponentially. I hear that we make as much data in 10 minutes now that has ever existed in the history of humanity up until the year 200…

  4. I was looking a physics book and noticed that Maxwell's electromagnetic theory of light is based on Ampere and Faraday induction experiments yet induction is not optical. Can someone explain this to me. I Having a hard time figuring this out. Maybe someone who is smart could explain this to me there must be an explaination since Maxwell's theory has been around for over 150 years, as I am told.

  5. hi ill start by introducing myself. My name is Franz Lee Rust and im from Nashville tennessee. i am 25 years old. lets begin by realizing that a theory is proven correct if it makes sense. math is not needed to determine if something is correct. Deal with it. This is how the world works.

OK I have started another thread. Online poker is hugely flawed, and has nothing to do with the RNG. The flaw is in process. The process - A multitude of 52 card decks are put into a shuffle server, so basically millions of decks put into a box and shuffled in their individual deck. The decks are then put into a que system. So although random, there is a set sequence set of how many cards is needed for which ever table needs a deck and amount of players at that table. Every single hand on all tables, a new deck is issued every go. And the first deck in the que goes to which ever table finishes first. So a new deck every hand to be clear.…

  7. My evidence, the continued closed posts on most science forums. My debate, lateral thinking and critical thinking, apart of science, yet ignored by many. https://theoristexplains.wordpress.com/2014/04/23/we-see-through-the-transparent-state-part-5/ My next article will be about science and its stereo typical nature towards individuals who have freedom of thought. Using lateral and critical thinking to overview science, and the ability to argue, with logic that fits. yes or no that lateral and critical thinking is a part of science? the part that comes before any maths?

  8. Started by IsaacAsimov,

Teleportation is moving from a certain location to another without travelling through the intervening normal space. Star Trek depicts teleportation as entering a transporter that uses a computer to scan poeple or objects atom by atom or molecule by molecule, then teleporting the atoms or molecules to a different location. This would be difficult to do by a computer because poeple or objects have an extremely large number of atoms or molecules. An alternative would be to travel through the 5th dimension or higher, also known as hyperspace, possibly by using wormholes. I envision it as using a belt with a lighted buckle like the neural neutralizers worn by the Kelvi…

  9. First: Moderators... Move this to any appropriate section. I was thinking of even starting this in speculations/Trash can because this forum has no specific area for fringe science that I can see. For instance if the wright brothers were inventing the airplane today what area would we discuss it if no papers had been released. I use flight as an example because some mainstream science was denying flight was possible years after flight had occurred. While I do not think it deserves a place in physics. I also think trashing all fringe science is not something wise people would do. So I'm putting it in science news? ----------------------------------------…

Few would want to consider outside the box explanations (outside the Big Bang model) to solve this "over-brightness" problem. After all, the problem doesn’t seem that awesome that a standard explanation of some kind could not be found. Still the appearance of over-brightness in the universe was a prediction of another cosmological model long ago so I thought I would mention it here. Here is the recent paper on it. It was a supernova paper proposing that Dark Energy is not real, whereby I was the lead author (see 7.2 and 7.3 within the paper.) The paper predicts that the universe will appear brighter than what would be expected using the Hubble formula to calculate…

  11. When considering viscosity, we often associate viscosity with fluids, and the differences proceeding the mixing of fluids, example the viscosity of oil to water, the oil will not mix with the water, because it has a different viscosity. However, if we consider other elements , such as air, the general atmosphere, space, emr, there is also pause for thought to consider, that these also have a viscosity. Example , energy, lightning has a higher energy level than the surrounding energy, the energy has a different viscosity, so we see lightning, by a difference in viscosity of the energies. Weather , the difference in energies of hot and cold, pressure fr…

  12. Inversely Proportional Nesting Doll Systems 1. All physical systems are composed of Energy and Matter. Energy and Matter form stable, proportional systems that have Mass. Mass is the combination of Energy and Matter. Without Energy, Matter does not have Mass, and without Matter, Energy does not have Mass. Matter = tm (system's total mass) - em (system's energy mass [force, acceleration, potential and kinetic]). Energy and Matter are always attracted to each other (strong force) but repel themselves (weak force). The 'isolation' state of energy is C and the 'isolation' state of Matter is 'zero point energy' or 'rest mass'. 2. Physical systems are formed as individual…

hi guys first time posting to this but I've had a theory rattling around in my brain for a little while and it's time I brought it to the attention of those possibly smarter than me. so I have two theories let's see if I can properly explain them. 1. Controllable momentum. say for instance you have a car tire, now take off the rubber, all you have now is a rim. Say you were to fix a group of magnets to the surface of the rim on a slight axis so that they could be moved slightly when needed but only about as much as this. ( position 1 / and 2 \ ) Similar to a teeter-totter. Now what if we added another circular surface over the top of the current, magnet covere…

  14. The 2nd law of thermodynamics is a consequence of the arrow of time. The universe started as a singularity, it was at a maximum level of order. It had minimum entropy. There is no other direction for entropy to go when something is at a minimum, it can only remain in that state, or increase. The expansion of space, time and the increase in entropy are all linked. However, the system can be seperated via inflation which leads to the inability of information to flow from one part to another. Multiple universes are created. Within our universe, we observe an accelerating rate of expansion, this has a paradoxical dual quality, entropy increases to a maximum within the sys…

  15. For a hydrogen atom at ground state, the electron is moving around the proton (nucleur of H atom). The frequency ν0 and the energy E0 of the electron in the H atom at the ground state should consistent with quantum hypothesis, that is : E0=hν0 Where h is Planck's constant . As we known, the period T and the frequency of the electron must obey the following relationship : T=1/ν Clearly, the electron is moving around the proton with a constant period T0, and T0= h /E0 According to the concept of period, the moving electron should be at the same position at the time after a period T0. That is easy for us to understand by classic concept and theor…

  16. Hi all. My name is Kenneth Udut. I'm 42 years old, been online since 1988 (started with BBS's and the beginnings of the 'net and never stopped. Otherwise, I'm nobody special). I started working on my own theory of everything - a systems of system of systems. Yet another middle aged guy trying to find the meaning of life I guess. Anyway, I started putting it together and I want people to poke holes in it. I don't know how to write scientifically but I do have all my references saved. I think I may have found a different way to view the nature of physics and such that's not mathematical or numerical but rather kind of geometrical: The Leaky Triangle. Afte…

  18. Started by cosnut,

I will start with a simple assertion: The gravitational constant expressed as meters^3/sec^2 per kgm is equivalent to exponential cosmological acceleration per unit mass, i.e., volumetric acceleration per unit mass. Starting with a Hubble sized sphere of radius R having a volume 4/3(pi)R^3, differentiate twice to get volumetric acceleration. Since the Hubble grows at constant velocity c, the volumetric acceleration for a space receding at a constant rate c is 8(pi)Rc^2. However, we are interested in the recessional rate which is believed to be accelerating - if the recessional rate is accelerating there will another term which corresponds to q = -1, that is [4(…

  19. This article is based on the Maxwell's electromagnetic theory ,by the introduction of virtual particle cloud , and strict mathematics and physics verification ,firstly get the conclusion of gravitation field, nuclear power field and weak field all are result of the electrostatic field’s different forms effect, and unify this four field force in an equation. This is the only unified field theory including gravitation at present. http://hi.baidu.com/xj51075107/item/a3816f16ef19960fe65c36c1 My manuscript XiaoJun.doc

  22. Started by Ten oz,

Recently a friend introduced me to the Blood Type diet. While the claims made in the book written by Peter J. D'Adamo, Eat Right 4 Your Type have not been clinically proven and seem rather speculative they did peek my curiosity. What is the purpose of blood times and should we adapt anything about or lifestyles (diets, sleep patterns, activity levels, etc) around them? I posted this in speculations because while the history of blood types is known from what I have read the purpose of blood types is not. So I am interested in both research and people's opinions.

  23. Let us assume that Karma has a basis in science. (assumption). - (I) What then would be an idealized topology of the Universe to back this up ? - Planar -> This would extend in a straight line, every event would be the driver of the next and each event would act as the agent to expand the dimension of space - time contributing to Universal expansion. Karma could act but there would be no pattern in the events, only linear progression - Open loop -> This would not support the karmic model. At some point events would cease and karma would thereby "end". Not self-propagating and event driven, - Closed loop -> Here events would drive the next ad - inf…
