Suggestions, Comments and Support

I was thinking that it might be a nice idea to invite prominent scientists to post here, and perhaps have a short quasi-lecture format, or a question and answer format. This will be dependent on their available time however and of course their willingness to do so. Also I think it would be important to try and ensure that there is an audience for them too, so that there are few questions. I propose that when a guest is to be invited, first we discuss who we want to invite, and then approach them. The format would be then that either we let them duscuss a topic of their choosing, or suggest one, which they post on a moderated forum, and then have a moderated question and a…

hmmmm.... I was doing some of the polls on the website (i had nothing better to do), and whenever you submit an entry to the poll, it takes you to the main page rather than back to the main thread itself! Hmm.. maybe it could be fixed, cause it is getting annoying

How did that thread that fafalone created get deleted? The one with Einstein's paper about the General Theory of Relativity. I can't figure this out...

Technology is changing a lot. It is a large part of science I would like to propose that there be a Technology Forum where we could discuss topics about New Technology coming out and Tech Improvements int the future. What do you think?

I personally think there should be a General Math Forum for us to discuss about Math in general. Also, It would also be nice to have a Math Forum for posting Math Problems. What do you think?

I just noticed that in topics with more than one page, the button to change pages is only at the top. I personally prefer (and use more) for it to be on bottom (as well as top) so that when you read one page, you can go to the next page without having to scroll back to the top. Any ideas>comments?

Just a suggestion....i think a new forum should be added called other Chaotic & Complex Systems or Cognitive Science. because each of these fields are an interdisciplinary mix of all the rest.

well hey why not? I mean Science isn`t ALL about hard work, if they`re kept clean and non offensive to race,color,creed and Science based jokes, I think it may be a bit of harmless fun that "Ooops" thread about the fallen satellite could have gone in there for instance. maybe a poll with 3 options; Yes, No, Not bothered. Nerds can have phun 2 !!

why aren't new threads highlighted? then you come into this site, it lists the number of new threads, and the number of new posts. there is no way of knowing what and where the new threads are other than looking in every section (unless there is some option i don't know about). so i guess my suggestion is to highlight a new thread like you would a new post.

I'm not sure if I registered using the correct form. I'm 13 years old, so I was supposed to have filled out a special form. I don't think I did...does it even make a difference? Also, I, venturing out into the unknown, viewed my profile(**oh my**) and I failed to see an option for PM-ing. Apologies if this has already been covered.... Would it be worth having a forum within each topic for Questions and Answers? Literally just a place for people to chuck out questions and people to suggest answers - much like you see in the backs of magazines and journals. ?

how about adding a subject heading for geology, and even group in the wanna-be geologists (aka environmental scientists) hehe. I think it would be a good thing.... there aren't many geology boards on the web, this seems like a great place for it

We only seem to have one article :/ this surprised me actually. I could quite easily fiddle with some old essays and upload them, surely others could do the same. And some posts are nearly articles. maybe we should solicit them?

I'm thinking about combining some catagories. I don't think there is a need to have everything so specific. Also, thinking about allowing images in posts.. What do you guys think about this? Also, any suggestions for added forums are welcomed.

I need your help with ideas to add to the site. I want it to be more than just a news/forums site.. but what can I do? I was thinking about adding featured articles, on various topics. Problem is, I don't have tons of time, and I don't know a whole lot about a whole lot of subjects. Someone throw some ideas out! Anything you want to see changed/added/removed? Any ideas that would make good additions to the site?
