  1. WHY DID YOU DELETE MY THREAD ABOUT SCIENTIFIC MIRACLES IN THE NOBLE QUR'AN??? I AM NOT LYING I REALLY BELIEVE THEY EXIST LET ME CONVINCE YOU PLX
  2. We can see who is repping posts. If we think a person is going out of their way to unfairly rep someone or someones, we do our best to reverse the damage. We also possess the power to remove the ability for someone to neg rep members. A quick glance at your account does not suggest to me that you have been targeted. Perhaps it's time to look at your posts instead of blaming the system or other members?
  3. You don't get me I was asking you to zero them in either direction i.e. to delete them all and you can tell them the listing. Years ago I don't even remember giving rep points at all.
  4. There is probably a plugin you can get for IP.Board that will allow you to do so. But I would say closing older threads wouldn't solve anything really. Just keep with the regular rules. If a post to an older thread is made that isn't sufficient to the rules of the forum, then delete it. Why solve a problem that doesn't exist?
  5. You have one account - we don't allow multiple accounts, neither parallel nor serial. I wasn't around when the rule was formulated - but I would expect that it was designed to allow debate in an atmosphere of mutual understanding, respect, and camaraderie; you can get this only when there is continuity. You take responsibility for your posts and your opinions. There is no (or very little) impersonation and duplicity as one's posts remain on record. Post stuff that you are happy with now and don't mind being associated with in the future. But don't overly worry about the past - to the largest extent people will judge you on what you post in the future not in the past.
  6. Why? I'll make better posts with my new account. Thanks How do I delete this account?
  7. You can't. You can edit your posts for a limited time - but you cannot edit or delete after that certain time. You can even change your user name for a short period after joining. But you don't get to delete your account and start again.
  8. Just got off a 2 week ban for losing it. Need to trash this account and create a new one. Thanks
  9. That's against the rules here (§2:9) and the staff will almost certainly ban the new account. Just FYI. You agreed to this yourself when you signed up. http://www.scienceforums.net/index.php?app=forums&module=extras&section=boardrules "Registering more than one account to yourself is not permitted without administrative approval. "Sockpuppet" accounts (those registered with the intent of using them to spread the original member's ideas, or for other malicious purposes) will be banned on sight, as well as those registered to evade a ban." On another note, it's "so long" FFS!!
  10. I don't know if it's XRumer causing the problem with WebShield in the OP or not; I was...erhm...speculating, yeah speculating. (Sounds better than wild ass guessing don't it?) I do know XRumertest is here because I have been seeing it as logged in at the 'Show Registered Only' who's online list. >> http://www.scienceforums.net/topic/87156-sand-making-machine-makes-great-contributions-to-sand-production-line/When it's there it is grayed and you can't get to a profile the same as when a banned member logs in but can't do anything. Whatever it's doing it can't be good for the board. I reported it to an Admin but got no reply so can't say if it matters or any action was taken. My suggestion was to delete it as a member. As to malware, well it's often bootjacked (or is that shoehorned? Hat-banded?) into spam. Any port in a storm. (Any gird in a loin?)
  11. Yes. Yes, I am. Your only recourse now, of course, is to send me money. I will PM you my bank account information so reparations can be made without further delay. OT: All members here volunteer their time. No overhead, really. Only cost is server that hosts the forum and those costs tend to be quite low. Also, as mentioned by Phi, there is some revenue from ads on the site that likely more than covers this. Your best bet to give back to the site is to educate yourself, help others whenever possible, and be sure to look for answers to basic questions on your own before posting them here. That little bit of extra effort from you will allow all of us to enjoy richer and more thought provoking discussions since questions will be more specific and thread participants more informed.
  12. I had a similar problem and had to open a new account. I was unable to change my username. Please feel free to delete or suspend my previous account.
  13. Yes, after some testing I can confirm that. I picked an old inactive account, with zero posts and a very low number of profile views, and then visited it multiple times and after around half an hour the counter spiked with the same amount as my visits. So it is very likely that any member/guest could have contributed several times to another members profile views. I did not visit your profile close to a hundred times, which the counter now have almost increased to. (53,378 views up from 53,286 when I made the timestamp on your profile.) And since your profile still lists me as the latest visitor, the latest increase must all have been done by guests or hidden visitors. I am pretty certain that partaking in a thread on the first page of the New content list will draw more interest to member profiles, than threads that is hidden somewhere far below amongst the older threads. And since we are talking about the profile views counter, I suspect a lot of people get curious and check the counter themselves and thereby increase the count even more. I also notice that you currently have a Recent Status Update listed on the main page, which probably causes more profile views too.
  14. Is this thread just going to be an extension of "crackpots in physics". I enjoy speculation posts, So do others by the post and reply count, PS sunshakers got some good posts in speculation, damn, I have used wrong account to post
  15. agreed - it does seem hyper-susceptible to misinterpreting input Nope; the above done in wysiwyg mode, quote, quote, highlight&delete, highlight&delete
  16. Other account has been suspended. Thanks for letting us know
  17. I couldn't activate this account as I used a hotmail address but that's sorted now since I used a gmail address Just to let you know, since I was confused, I'd created another account (I don't remember the username to be sincere but it's on the same IP so easy to find) so it's just 2 I have right now.. and tbh, I tried to email the staff on this email in the announcements but my hotmail account got temporarily locked cos there was apparently suspicious activity which I don't understand, so it would be easier to create another account to PM the admin which I did but that account turned out to be a mess so I decided to try to change my email.. it seems that hotmail addresses are being rejected for some reason? so you might want to check that out? Pffttt, sorry for the longish story, but I don't have any good reason to keep my other account anymore so feel free to delete it since it's against the rules anyway. Sorry for the bother.
  18. If no attachments, please moderator to delete
  19. You can yourself erase all personal information on your profile page and then simply stop coming here. But your account and post must remain though to keep threads readable. I would advise you to keep your password safe so you can return later if you change your mind, lots of members take breaks and come back again after a few years, as long as you don't misbehave and get banned you are always welcome back again.
  20. Why staff wouldn`t delete them? I think more space in the server will be occupied.
  21. You may edit your profile to delete all of your personal info, but your posts will remain. Staff will not delete them. If you wish to leave the forum, the simple solution is just to log out and not return.
  22. How can I terminate my membership if I want to quit this forum? I mean completely deleting my account and all my information.
  23. How can it be possible that a post can be made by more than 2 users/posters? So, it is very clear that every posts made by a poster clearly reflects his/her personality except his/her account is being hacked. I know that members give positive and negative feedback on the post itself and not the poster but when we trace back to the source-it is the poster. It is also ridiculous for a poster to have 2 personality. For example, poster A posts harsh words and inaccurate scientific theories in a thread but then he post another post with clear and vivid explanation about religion or other mature science fields and get +2 reputation points in the second post but -2 in the first post, so offsetting each other and you get zero. This is very unlikely to happen.
  24. Humor I think is usually good as it makes the discussion less combative and more interpersonally comfortable, and I think most SFN members would concede to this. But when it's ambiguous internet sarcasm that makes a false assertion directly pertinent to the discussion, as was the case in Ophiolite's anecdotal example if I recall the contents of that thread correctly, it does not have a place besides the end of a DELETE command.
  25. How do you know/can you say this forum is not democratic? We speak at least through words but I dislike reputations. This forum is democratic in the sense that you are allowed to speak through words/express your opinions and together with reputations but my suggestion is to shut down the reputation system and continue with replying system because no problem with democratic but emotions. We should take others` emotion into account too.
