  1. That depends on how many workers the state looses; try and imagine a world with no sewage workers or bin men or farmer's; sometimes the arsole is the most important part of the body and sometimes it just spouts shit... 😉
  2. How would I do that? It wasn't an accusation, it was an observation, that I'm happy to accept is wrong, when you present a reasonable argument. Why? The difference between us is, I hope you're right and you want to win.
  3. Indeed, you're preaching to the converted; as a disciple of science worshipping at the alter of TV, I was fooled into thinking I understood physics; my point is the disconnect of the recording/book without an appropriate teacher to explain why Brian Cox is fundamentally wrong, because most of the language of math, is not translatable into English. SFN is the perfect forum to teach the most people through thread's like this, unfortunately not everyone can accept being wrong; there's bound to be some chaff.
  4. Contractiction has two sides, not necessarily true of an argument; as this sketch neatly explains... No thanks, I know my meaning of life; I remain in the hope that I can convey my understanding to you, because it's a very peaceful place... 🙏 😇 😉
  5. Strikes me as a double edged sword "we know this to be true" is assuming that your teaching will always be true...
  6. I'd be laughing my arse off, if he's an outlier; but you're welcome to share my bunker...
  7. What planet do you come from? Classic planet Eton, so full of irony that they don't even need binmen...
  8. I have, literally, never said that... I feel like we're on a roundabout, I have, literally, said that it can originate from an external source, the meaning of which, is up to you; for instance, the bible is meaningless, if you can't read it. And you're assuming you have a legitimate argument.
  9. You have to wipe away your biases, in order to see clearly; it's how philosophy and science works. Imagine you're dependent on a handout, to eat a loaf of bread; your bias would see people like you as the enemy. But your a hard working person and you can, just about, afford to stuff your loaf with baloney; your bias should see the foie gras eating boss as the enemy, not because they're eating better than you (they're not) but because they're willing to stuff a duck with more than it can eat, while watching people like us struggle to eat enough, and between mouthfuls persuading people like you too see the dependents as the enemy. Are you really that gullible?
  10. Then people would be allowed to make up their own mind, you know "free", to vote in a democracy that actually represents the value of your vote; rather than an imaginary enemy...
  11. You lost my interest long before that...
  12. Thanks for your opinion of a definition; fortunately the well informed are armed with a dictionary and so can escape a pointless argument... 😉
  13. You seem to be arguing against yourself, for instance, if reality doesn't depend on you then neither does meaning, therefore meaning has an external thingy to which it's attached, but it's definitely not you, religious or God.
  14. What conservatives want is, wealth to be enough to afford more than them...
  15. I think he's close to understanding; why we rinse, more than once... 🧐

But imagine the niche, a plastic eating bacteria would find itself in...
  17. Well, no-one else here is going too; we can but hope that he understands the futility, before he flatters himself/herself to death... 😉
  18. Genuine question, what drives your need to be right/win? Because this post looks like, you've been caught cheating at solitaire and your outraged...
  19. What are you actually asking here? Are alien's what we think of as God's? Is an advanced civilisation (aliens) better than ours? Or, why can't scientist's build an imaginary "warp drive"? What you should be asking, given the general direction of the OP, is; what lesson's can we learn, philosophically, from our actual history, rather than Star Trek...
  20. Indeed, but it does mean you are capable of learning a human language, listening helps.
  21. None of us are that's lesson 101, congrats you're ready for lesson 102...
  22. That's akin to saying "I don't speak your language but I'm sure that wogawomphtamof is a real word".
  23. If we couldn't measure time, how did we confirm Einstein's musing's? To be a heretic, you must first understand the religion.
  24. You're missing the point of this site; it's OK to discuss things that are wrong, and enjoy doing so, but there's wrong (worth discussing) and very wrong (nope); for instance, it's wrong to say a tomato is a vegetable, it's very wrong to say it's a banana... 🤔
