  1. The quote function is your friend. I dare you to find even one that supports this view. I do hope you’re right, but I’m doubtful. Even if the US magically realizes healthier politics as a result of all this, Trump has put forth a template for other authoritarians around the world to follow. Would’ve been nice if they hadn’t waited to do so until he was already done with his term. This is hardly off-brand with the last 4 years.
  2. We can be civil in our discussion together all while at the same time I choose not to chase down an answer to an irrelevant question. They’re not mutually exclusive.

    It’s concealed
  4. It was acknowledged. I reject your premise. I have no idea, and no plans to try finding out.
  5. The phrase, "missing the point" comes to mind. What is a sequence if there is no time?
  6. Too many people in positions of power and authority have chosen / decided not to. They support him in this. See also: Failure to conduct a trial for him once he got impeached last year. A member of the House has also already drawn up a second set of articles of impeachment, but I doubt anyone on the right will be willing to take the political risk of earning the wrath of Trump voters by doing so when he's to leave office in 2 weeks anyway.
  7. I’m sure they wouldn’t have constructed that noose on the capitol lawn today if only the democrats acted nicer toward them

  9. Trumps own cabinet is right now actively discussing removing him from office under the powers granted by the 25th amendment. No options have yet been presented to VP Pence
  10. Imagine if they were black. This only has continued as long as it has bc they’re white
  11. Depends on the issue being voted upon. As Charon mentioned, this is more about removing Mitch McConnells ability to singlehandedly block legislation even when it’s supported by both sides and the president.
  12. It helped that he was like one of two total newscasters speaking. Today, any fool with a phone can be a "newscaster." The cycle here is consistent in terms of belief there's been voter fraud. I mentioned the term "astroturfing" above. They claim there's fraud despite any obvious evidence. They then keep repeating those claims and work in a systematic fashion to spread them through influencer channels and social media. They manufacture the concerns, then use the approach, "there's a lot of distrust in the election results out there so we need to be responsible and follow-up... investigate it more." Never mind that they were the ones who created the distrust. Lather, rinse, repeat. Throughout much of Trump's presidency, he and his allies have been arsonists who set the fire then go in to talk about how dangerous the fires are and attempt to take credit for putting it out... never mind that there would never have been a fire in the first place had they not arrived with matches and gasoline and bullhorns shouting about the danger of fires. Swarm of bees strategy, too
  13. I think a big factor here will be point of manufacture... where they do the refining, as it were. If they can setup facilities on the ground in multiple locations, then that's promising. I just don't yet know the front-end costs of setting up those facilities to produce at scale, or if it will be cost-effective / business worthy to do so. Cool tech for sure, though!
  14. This is part of it, but not the key point, IMO. There are so many bullshit claims being made and the amount of disinformation being disseminated is vast. It's just far too much for the average citizen focused on work and putting food on the table and taking care of their family to follow. Sure, if they see one claim that seems to be false, the "media" can correct it, but as soon as they do there are suddenly 17 more false claims following it. People can basically find information "supporting" any viewpoint they already hold and there's just no way for "the media" to keep up with it all. This problem is much bigger than the media. Your point about a breakdown in reasoning skills is far more resonant, IMO.
  15. That's a great big gigantic humongous "IF" in that statement. Cool work, but I'll withhold enthusiasm until I see this working at-scale and creating a volume of fuel sufficient for jet powered flight.
  16. Right, but 2 straight months of nonstop astroturfing by the most visible people on the planet since then has clearly shifted public perceptions.
  17. ??? You've lost me, friend. Not following you at all. If you'd like to pursue this further, then please walk me through the point you're trying to make, but kindly please do so slowly and with small words as if I'm a kindergartener.
  18. For convenience and simplicity, you're describing the Hafele-Keating experiment here. I'm sure others are clear on the process. Try to focus on why they're asking what they are asking you.
  19. This could be a far more reasonable discussion if we instead focused on implementing possible incentives to encourage such a relocation, and what incentives might be most effective from the standpoint of both up-front costs and heads relocated. Alternatively, working through the political ramifications and overcoming the nearly certain perception of these steps as being inherently imperialistic might also be worth exploring.
  20. If the suggestion above is that I didn't previously understand these various nuances and was somehow blind to them until you highlighted them for me, then my suggestion is that you seriously reconsider this position
  21. Your position is ludicrous
  22. Many are likely withholding gratitude until they’re certain Trump will similarly withhold releasing troops into our streets to overturn an election he lost
