  1. ! Moderator Note Our apologies! I think the addition of the picture in your post before may have confused things. In future it is probably better to quote what someone posts exactly as they post it so that it doesn't get misinterpreted and you don't get accused of misquoting someone. Your compensation shall be paid in cheese nips to the bank account of your choosing.
  2. You should also have a read of this thread: http://www.scienceforums.net/topic/54798-does-the-future-of-algae-for-biodiesel-look-good It's short, but Captain Panic gave some pretty good information about it.
  3. Ah, I remember this one from high school.
  4. ! Moderator Note Welcome back. Thread moved to speculations. Edit: Actually, since you already have a number of threads on this, I'm merging it with one of your old ones. Don't post multiple threads on this, zheng sheng ming, or they will be closed.
  5. ! Moderator Note Green Xenon, We've been pretty lenient with you to date, but the soap boxing really has to stop. If you have actual literature or some form of actual evidence aside from your own opinion to support your assertions, then bring them to this thread and discuss them. Please do not respond to this mod note.
  6. ! Moderator Note You already have a thread on this, blackfang320. Thread closed. Also, we don't take kindly to rudeness here. Play nice or not at all.
  7. ! Moderator Note Mosheh Thezion, I have (yet again) removed personal information from your post. Please do not post details such as your phone number and do not use this thread to advertise your website.
  8. Flattered though I was with accusations of being mooeypoo's sock puppet (she wishes), our favorite almost-homophone of a famous fizzy-cyst, Steven Hawkins, has earned himself a permanent ban for continued disregard of our rules (specifically those about derailing threads, personal attacks and posting speculations in the main science forums).
  9. I definitely still use that word. This doesn't really fit the description in the title, but I'm going to add the semicolon to the list; try though I though I do to keep it alive.
  10. ! Moderator Note Once again, one thread per topic. Thread closed.
  11. ! Moderator Note Numerology is numerology, dress it however you like. If you look closely, you'll see that most of the calculations you've used in your post are exactly the same as the ones in earlier posts. And it still doesn't negate the whole, 'stop posting speculations in the main stream science forums' thing. Please do not derail this thread by responding to this mod note.
  12. ! Moderator Note Steven Hawkins, I am merging this with your other thread addressing the same issue. Please don't open multiple topics on the same thing and stop posting your speculations in the main science forums. In future I will do as I have done before and simply close and/or remove them.
  13. ! Moderator Note Split from 'Transgendered Persons'. Superfusion, thread advertising is not permitted here, so I've removed that part of your post.
  14. ! Moderator Note I've removed the posts related to homosexuality in other animals. Please try keep the discussion, which has been a pretty interesting read thus far, on topic.
  15. To add to the stockpile of anecdotes, my other half almost always gets a bad headache and sinus congestion when there's a significant change in atmospheric pressure. A very brief search indicates there's at least some truth to it in the case of arthritis: http://www.jrheum.or.../29/2/335.short http://scholar.googl...2005&sciodt=0,5 http://www.sciencedi...002934306010266
  16. ! Moderator Note Uncool, you should try keep comments such as the one I've quoted to a minimum. Attack the idea, not the person making them.
  17. ! Moderator Note I've moved some conversation from this thread into here. Try keep it on topic and Superfusion, you'd do well to actually listen to modnotes in future.
  18. ! Moderator Note Moved to speculations.
  19. ! Moderator Note Moontanman, use some self restraint. Superfusion, please do not ignore requests to stop derailing this thread. There are quite a large number of threads on the existence of God, so go posit your thoughts there or start a new discussion. Also, doG, our Philosophy and Religion rules state that "disagreements about beliefs should never be in the form of attacks on the believers". Calling faith a mental disease is little more than an inflammatory remark and it won't be tolerated.
  20. ! Moderator Note This thread is not to turn into another perverse rant about 'pro-girl sexism'. Green Xenon (and everyone else), please stick to the main point in the OP. If this continues, it will be closed and Green Xenon, since this will be your 4th or 5th warning, you will suspended.
  21. I'm not sure I see a question in there. Is there something you needed clarifying?
  22. ! Moderator Note Green Xenon, you've been warned about thread hijacking in the past. If you keep it up, you will be suspended.
  23. ! Moderator Note Superfusion, we don't take kindly to personal comments here. Calling someone a fool goes against our rules and really doesn't do much for your whole argument. If you want to point out the flaws, etc., of an idea, then you may do so without also ridiculing the person making them.
  24. A few things. 1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Hahn 2. It won't add anything to your resume if you're trying to pursue a job in chemistry. 3. Don't do it. There are plenty of backyard chemistry experiments you can do at home that are much safer and just as amusing. You should ask someone like elementcollector1 or jump on IRC and see if UC/Thor is about. Both of those guys are hobbyist chemists, do a lot of chemistry at home and a pretty good at it. UC also has a YouTube channel you might find worth watching. I don't remember it off the topic of my head, but I'll add it later when I remember / have asked someone who knows it.
